The repetitiveness and lack of content is a downfall that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t give the game a try, only that you shouldn’t expect for it to extend beyond one bored train ride to work or a single rainy afternoon indoors.

It's not the kind of game you'll be playing for hours on end, but for a few minutes at a time over a long time.

Desktop Dungeons has made a pretty great effort to port their game to the iOS world, and it packs a lot of replay and problem solving into this app.

While I've got a couple of quibbles with it, Sproggiwood is a fantastically well-rounded take on the roguelike genre. It's challenging, rewarding, forgiving, and charming all at once.

Even if you aren't a zombie fan, turn-based and puzzle enthusiasts should give Dead Eyes a shot. An expansion of sorts for a few bucks would do wonders in terms of its longevity, but for now, it's a decently-packed undead romp.

Sure, it does very little new in the behind-the-back-runner genre, but what it does do is amp up the spectacle and variety to a dizzying degree, proving the runner genre may still have legs yet.

On the one hand, it's a competent enough pinball platformer that has a few neat ideas here and there. On the other hand, there's that Magic Mike cat in the background.

In short, Chaos Rings 3 is a big, meaty evolution of the series that makes a lot of changes. Some of those feel like natural progressions from the older games, while others are obviously coming in from other sources, but the game on the whole is richer for having all of them.

As you've probably figured out by this review, Queen: Play the Game is an audiovisual and trivia treat that does a great job transforming a wealth of information about one of the greatest rock bands ever into a pretty entertaining game.

If you're the hardcore music and rhythm gamer that likes to master songs on lower difficulties before mastering them again on higher difficulties, you can easily enjoy this game for a few more hours in free mode.

If you enjoy RPGs, this game's for you; if you enjoy platforming, this game's for you; if you like spending hours on the couch exploring a well-made world, this game's for you; if, instead, you enjoy short bursts of platforming and exploring, this game's still for you because of its checkpoint and save system.

I would have been happier with Crazy Kings as a premium title, but there are definitely towers worthy of defending here. And hey, at least it won’t take up too much of your time.

Even though it's not a perfect game, especially in some of the UI choices and the game's dark palette, this is a game I recommend without hesitation to any CCG player or any player who enjoys beautiful and clever games.

There are plenty of shooters to spend your time on, and although Tofu Hunter is a welcome free distraction for an afternoon, I wouldn't recommend giving it more time than that.

While I have a few little quibbles about balance issues and the odd battle pacing, Alphadia Genesis 2 is a fairly solid JRPG with an interesting story, a decent cast of characters, and no major failings in any important categories.

The Last Warlock is a fantastic bit of medicine for anyone who has grown a little weary of the norm in this genre, and a breath of fresh air even if you haven't.

If you’re a fan of the genre, this should provide a nice challenge. For the average joe, however, there are just too many other similar games on the App Store to say for sure whether you'll click with this particular brand of tower-based defending over any other.

So yeah, there are some problems with Sleep Furiously. But the concept is so good it’s easy to recommend anyway.

The energy system runs out a little too quickly and takes a little too long to recharge, and the upgrades--despite being priced reasonably well if you're willing to watch some ads here and there--take a bit too long to make a difference. But for the most part the game looks and feels awesome while you're playing it, and I suppose that's the main thing that should matter.

Sword of Xolan is a fun platformer with great controls and a good variety of enemies. While it's not perfect, it's definitely a great choice for anyone who loves platforming on mobile.

The game is a bit hard to get into. It takes a bit to get used to the timing of everything. Once you've established a consistent 'hey, ho' rhythm, you'll be prompted by specific sounds to do triple taps spanning one offbeat, and swipes to get over big waves

If you're the kind of person who is willing to make sacrifices for console-style gaming on mobile, and doesn't care if a game is a particularly good fit for mobile, then you'll enjoy Heroes and Castles 2. If you need something that can be enjoyed in short bursts or can be dropped at a moment's notice, if a lack of commitment is a feature not a bug for you, then I'd probably stay away from this.
