If you love any of the associated franchises, it's worth giving the game a go, at least for a little while, but it's too bad that the lessons learned in the core Kingdom Hearts games seem to have been ignored here.- TouchArcade

If you’ve been able to put up with the UI annoyances and performance problems of most of the simulator games released on Switch thus far, you’ll probably get on with Electrician Simulator well enough. It does a reasonably good job of offering the experience it promises, with the usual compromises for the sake of playability. Those interested in this game would do well to play this on PC if they have the option, but as far as the Switch version goes this is, regrettably, on par with most such games on the platform.- TouchArcade

Tunnel of Doom passes the time well enough, but it doesn’t do much more than that. While its blend of elements is interesting at first, it often undercuts its own ideas and ultimately ends up being very repetitive. Too many of the encounters can be handled with the same simple strategy, and it’s rare for the game to show any real teeth. A bit of story could have served as an extra carrot, but the game has little to offer in that regard as well. It’s worth taking a trip or two through, but it lacks the necessary elements to keep you coming back- TouchArcade

For optimal enjoyment of Ultima Forever, it’s best to play on an iPhone 5. Party members may still lag out and disappear, but you’ll have less frame issues. For the freemium price, I’m all on board for this Ultima MMO. When I’m in a solid party, I can’t put this game down. There’s too much to do and tons of reasons to go back into old dungeons and farm for better loot. Hopefully, with subsequent patches the frame issues will slowly disappear.- TouchArcade

Super UFO Fighter is enjoyable for a short while, but in testing this with my family we’d had our fill after about a half hour. The gameplay got stale quickly, and every match started to feel the same. The single player mode exhausts its ideas equally quickly, and while I appreciate that there is an online multiplayer mode here, I wasn’t able to find a single opponent in all of my attempts. I didn’t have a bad time playing the game, but it’s all just too thin to recommend regardless of whether you mean to play alone or with others.- TouchArcade

It plays well enough, it has a nice sense of style to it, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome in terms of how far its mechanics will go. Considering the fact that the online arena space on mobile devices is limited, Fright Fight is a noble inaugural effort for the studio, and delivers a decent fighting game with an agreeable price of entry. Now, while the game is gorgeous and ends on a high note, Broken Age Part 1 on its own is hard to recommend. I'm not disregarding the entire game – with Part 2, it could wind up being something great. But just Part 1? I'd wait for the whole thing to release.- TouchArcade

Ultimately, Runaway: A Road Adventure is a beautiful looking, average sounding, and at times, many times, frustrating experience. It's a worthy addition to the collection if you're into the old 'point and click' and it certainly isn't bad… just keep in mind that it has a lot of flaws, some to do with the original design, some to do with the transition to mobile devices.- TouchArcade

Sometimes you need to punch something, and Unstoppable Fist is good for those times. Five or ten minutes of being down chickens and scorpions can cure any woe, especially if you let yourself sink into the absurdity of it all. This release puts a thematically-appropriate wrapper around the puzzles, presenting your Knight as a ninja making its stealthy escape through the pieces “guarding" the path. That theme helps a little bit, but at the end of it all you’re still just flogging away at another set of chess puzzles. Even with how similar it is to previous games, there’s still some enjoyment to be had here. I’m not sure how many more of these the world needs, though.- TouchArcade

Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur has some things going for it, and it can certainly be entertaining at times. The problem is that it has too little seasoning to sprinkle over too little meat, leaving large portions of it flavorless. When the field is as crowded on Switch as it is for these top-down roguelite action games, it’s hard to vigorously recommend something that leaves you fighting off the yawns for so much of its runtime.- TouchArcade

Flame Keeper may eventually end up being a great example of the roguelite genre, but in this unfinished form it’s just too slight to give too much attention to. You can easily see everything worth seeing in a couple of hours, and while that’s not bad bang for the buck, it’s not great relative to other games of this sort that you can pick up for a similar price. As I say from time to time, I can’t review an unknown future. I can only look at what is here in front of me now, and in that context Flame Keeper is just okay.- TouchArcade

Perhaps the biggest issue with DvO is simply that the game is too slow. Units plod along at a very sluggish pace, with only the special "fast" units seeming to move at an appropriate speed. Even early battles seem to drag on, and as you get further into the campaign and the likelihood of temporary stalemates rise, missions take forever. Even worse, there aren't any ways to speed up the gameplay, meaning each map starts painstakingly slow as you're initially collecting minerals.- TouchArcade

Simple, functional, reasonably amusing, but nothing we haven’t seen a thousand times before: that’s Crazy BMX World. This is essentially a stage-based auto-runner where you need to speed up, slow down, jump, and double-jump as needed to make it to the goal. You also need to try to collect three medals in each stage, as you’ll need them to make progress. You’ll earn gacha tickets for clearing stages, which can be exchanged for new bikes and costumes. There really isn’t much to this, but what’s here largely works as you would expect. My only gripe is that it’s sometimes hard to keep an eye on your little dude against the colorful and busy backdrops. For the price, this is fine.- TouchArcade

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai isn’t an outright terrible game, but I’m having trouble thinking of any scenario wherein a person would be satisfied with what it offers as a full-priced title. Crypt Stalker offers up some decent, cheap, Castlevania-like thrills. You get a solid bang for your gaming buck, with plenty of stages to fight through and a few interesting extra modes to enjoy. Sadly, the lack of in-game button mapping coupled with a reversed default layout for jumping and attacking can make this game very hard to enjoy if you’re a few decades invested into the usual button assignments. Hopefully the publisher sees fit to update this with an option to reassign the controls.- TouchArcade

By fudging its rhythm mechanics, Frederic -- Resurrection of Music actually presents itself as more of an interactive cartoon than a game. It's all a shame because I really want to like Red's Kingdom. I still like the concept, as sliding puzzle games are just collections of single-level vignettes, and this game transcends that. I really wanted to like Hot Lap Racing, because the Switch could really use more good racers. While I can’t say that I never hated it, because sometimes I did, I think overall it’s decent enough. I could see this developer going on to really good things in the future by building on this foundation. But in the end, I think it doesn’t quite succeed in its goal to ride the line between sim and arcade-style racing. Sorcerian is a good game, albeit one very much of its era. The problem is that like all EGGCONSOLE releases, nothing has been translated in-game from the original Japanese version. Ghosts 'n Goblins Mobile is a technically-sound port of a good, classic game that really isn't well-suited for touch-based controls. There are some quirks with the options that are likely to be addressed in a future update, but the biggest problem with the game is that it probably shouldn't have been picked as a candidate for a mobile port to begin with. It's already a severely difficult game, and adding even a little frustration on top makes it too much. That said, for the price of it, it's hard to tell anyone not to buy it if they're interested, but just be aware that you're probably not going to get too far unless you're incredibly stubborn or a virtuoso with virtual controls.- TouchArcade

Sometimes a game doesn’t have to do anything too fancy to satisfy, and that’s more or less where I’m at with Mimi the Cat. It’s a fairly straightforward take on the Sokoban-style crate-pusher puzzle game. Mimi’s trying to reach her scratcher in each stage, and you need to guide her there. This will often involve pushing boxes around and stacking them so that Mimi can cross gaps or climb up to where her scratcher is, and there are a few stage gimmicks sprinkled in to keep things fresh along the way. It’s not doing anything new and it comes off as very low-budget, but if you enjoy these kinds of puzzles it will scratch the itch.- TouchArcade

The farming side of things is a little better than the RPG side of things, but there are so many games on the Switch that offer a more satisfying experience, it’s hard to recommend this one. Add in a bevy of bugs, and this lands firmly in the so-so bucket.- TouchArcade

If DevilDark had a more cohesive story accompanied by randomized maps and a little more complex battle system, it would be at the top of my list on iOS. As it currently stands, the visual engine and sense of progression are enough to merit a recommendation, but there is potential for it to be much more.- TouchArcade

This is about as straight forward a take on Sokoban-style puzzles as you can get. There’s a cute theme here where you’re an alien pushing livestock into your tractor beam instead of being a guy pushing crates into designated squares, but that’s really the only distinctive feature of the game. Oh, and you can unlock hats. From an audiovisual standpoint, it comes off like the five-dollar game that it is, but the actual gameplay does what it has to. If you’re a Sokoban fiend that needs another fix, this will tide you over. Others are unlikely to find much charm in it.- TouchArcade

As neat as it is that the stylish combat of Devil May Cry translates well to the mobile version, it still has a tendency to feel repetitive and button mashy.- TouchArcade

Even with the quick advancement to end-game and its pretty simplistic play style, I’d argue that TourStar might be worth a purchase beyond its paywall just for the potential to purchase contest entires. Unfortunately, until that system is actually working and all the other kinks are ironed out, I have a hard time really recommending it.- TouchArcade

Yes, Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes is worth playing. If you have a recent iPad or an iPad mini, it's probably worth playing on iOS, though you might want to hold out for a few bug fixes. With those in hand, this could easily be one of the best puzzle strategy games on the platform. Without them, it's simply not.- TouchArcade

A Tale of Paper: Refolded takes a decent enough swing at the cinematic puzzle platformer genre, but this Switch version is probably the worst way to play it. From the usual technical issues that often come with an Unreal Engine game to a bevy of bugs that lead to a frustrating amount of resets, A Tale of Paper‘s numerous issues pile up to make it hard to recommend in this form. Those who are interested in the premise would do well to try it out on other platforms instead.- TouchArcade

It’s a shame WRC 10 The Official Game is such a technical mess on the Switch, especially in handheld mode. Just about every other element of the game is solid, but I can’t imagine most players wanting to put up with a game that looks and runs as poorly as this does if they have any other choices. The best case you could make for this particular version is that you can take it with you, but the sheer amount of flaws you have to look past is not insignificant. If you only have a Switch, truly love rally racing, and are exceptionally forgiving of technical issues, then you might want to give this a look.- TouchArcade

For me, part of the reason I consider Minecraft one of my favorite games is because it moves beyond the usual sword-swinging of other games and lets players be creative in a number of ways. And yet, the writers of this season insist on reducing that universe into a story where the hero has to constantly fight his way through his troubles. Add to that how the fighting mechanics are by far the weakest parts of this season, and you'll understand why I'm puzzled by the decision to move them to the forefront. Let's hope (beyond hope, I think) that episode 4 will do away with this emphasis on fighting and bring back a bit more of the spirit of Minecraft.- TouchArcade

If you’re willing to put up with its flaws, there are things to like about The Library of Babel. The story is interesting, the world is fascinating to immerse yourself in, and the puzzles are pretty solid. But it can’t be ignored that a significant part of the game is its stealth platforming, and it’s the one aspect of the game that really leaves something to be desired. It makes demands of the player that its mechanics are ill-equipped to live up to, and it makes me wish it would have just stuck to what it did well.- TouchArcade

The biggest problem with A Musical Story comes in its gameplay mechanics, though. You play the tunes in sliced out sections, and you have to hit every note perfectly before the game will let you move on. And unless you’re really good with audio cues, you’re going to fail a lot. The worst thing is that once you’ve missed a note, you know you can’t succeed but you still have to finish out the slice anyway. It’s aggravating in the worst way. You never get that feeling of being one with the music that you get with better rhythm games. Great music, an uneven story, and unpleasant gameplay make for a very rocky road trip indeed.- TouchArcade

If your love for NEC and Hudson’s plucky platform burns equally bright, you’ll probably get a kick out of FX Unit Yuki. Sure, the dialogue is terrible, the level layouts are bland, the controls are often awkward, and the shooting levels are genuinely bad, but it’s still kind of worth the trip to see all the parodies and homages. On the other hand, if you don’t have any warm fuzzies for that system and its library, I’m not sure it’s worth putting up with FX Unit Yuki‘s more annoying aspects. The presentation is nice, but everything else falls just short of the bar.- TouchArcade

Berzerk: Recharged is an interesting twin-stick shooter that might not feel much like the Stern classic, but has a lot of appeal of its own. Unfortunately, given the bizarre lengthy lock-ups that happen randomly during gameplay, I can’t really give it a very strong recommendation. I also think it missed a trick by not trying to be more faithful to the source material, but it’s the buggy nature of the game that really drags it down.- TouchArcade

Cannon Dancer is a fun action game for the short time it lasts, offering the extra dose of Strider thrills that you may have never known existed. It’s great to see it available on home consoles at long last. The problem is that it’s priced like a celebration, but the bare bones way it’s presented feels like anything but. With the same old Ratalaika emulation front-end and no extra materials or even any context for the game, it feels like the publisher has thrown a decent burger patty between two slices of Wonderbread and is charging the price of a steak. Really hard to recommend to any but the dedicated fans.- TouchArcade

It’s a pity – Gravity Duck has such style, and the four-way-gravity gameplay holds a lot of potential for puzzle-solving. Unfortunately, unlocking unchallenging levels never feels like much of an accomplishment, and difficulty levels remain ho-hum throughout the entire game.- TouchArcade
