SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide delivers a fun platformer that's easy to learn and enjoy. Although it's clearly crafted with so much love for the animated series, it also stands as a great experience for genre fans or anyone simply looking for an entertaining game to unwind with.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage on Switch 2 delivers a solid remaster that remains highly faithful to the series' classic essence, featuring a deep, demanding, and well-polished combat system. Although it lacks a story mode and shows little real evolution compared to previous versions, it compensates with abundant content, strong performance, and an experience tailored for hardcore players.

Metroid Dread is an excellent return to the Samus saga with an interesting story and solid mechanics, although it does have a few problems with its new villains.

PowerWash Simulator 2 smooths out many of the rough edges of its predecessor to deliver what could be considered the definitive power washing experience, featuring a wide variety of fun and satisfying environments to clean. It remains curiously addictive, though it may feel more like an acquired taste than an essential experience.

Sonic Origins Plus is the best way to celebrate the hedgehog's past with 16 fun titles. The upgrades to the main four make them pretty flashy even by today's standards, but the Game Gear installments could have gotten more love than this collection did. It's still highly recommended for old and new fans alike.

Crash Team Rumble is an experiment with the Crash Bandicoot brand that went very well. No match is the same as the last, and there is a prevailing sense of fun. Not to mention, there are plenty of incentives to keep you playing. However, as a fully multiplayer title, only time will tell if it will last or be forgotten.

Octopath Traveler 0 reinvents the series with an exceptional combat system, memorable villains, and a deeply strategic structure. The created protagonist, the rebuilding of Wishvale, and the Mastery Skills inject welcome freshness, although uneven pacing, simplified Path Actions, and an inconsistent narrative hold it back. Even so, it remains an ambitious JRPG that shines brilliantly at its best.

Layers of Fear is a canvas full of perspectives, and its setting is exemplary. From the sound to the visual section, the impression it can cause is enjoyable and satisfactory. However, everything is very predictable regarding gameplay mechanics, and although this is okay, the developer could improve this section.

Capcom Fighting Collection is a valuable way to preserve arcade titles from the 90's. The title curation seems a bit like a Darkstalkers showcase, but we also found some gems worth reviving like Red Earth and Pocket Fighter. The customization options are simple and very useful, and the online game is functional for playing with faraway friends.

You can spend hours completing spell challenges, exploring dungeons, fighting enemies, and activating altars to upgrade your powers. But that fun is often held back by the story. Forspoken's pacing could be better. The game takes you away from what you want to do. We often wanted to explore to our heart's content, but the game forced us to spend minutes that felt like forever in uninteresting storytelling.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. manages to survive the passage of time because it's a great game in terms of gameplay. However, the lack of a story mode or further development in the arcade mode makes it a challenging experience for someone who plays solo. This Virtua Fighter is competitive and nothing more. Sega wants to see if the community is still there and maybe develop a sixth installment.

Fourteen years ago, The World Ends With You stood out for its great art direction, original battle system and a great and unexpected story. Today the sequel improves the technical aspect, but the battle system is simpler, the narrative twists are no longer unexpected and the characters are not too deep. It's great to be back in Shibuya, just don't expect something as surprising and fresh as the first game.

The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story has a story full of mystery and great performances by the actors. This title will be judged by its cover. However, it's not until you play it that you understand its real value as an entertaining title in a genre that not many gamers play in the West.

Roller Champions is a competitive video game with a solid foundation. Its rules and game mechanics are easy to understand and enjoyable. Playing with strangers will be difficult, but in a team with friends with a lot of communication the game turns into something exciting. Its progression system is fair. It will need a community to stay alive and well.

Harvestella takes us on an adventure of significant proportions. It is full of creativity, many mysteries, and a colorful cast. It also shows us how fun the simplicity of everyday life can be when you take care of a farm, explore diverse places, and relate to other people. It might be a complicated formula, but this game successfully manages to create, although only with a couple of hiccups.

The arrival of Yakuza Kiwami on the Switch gives hope that we will see more games from the series on this and future Nintendo consoles. At its core, it is an excellent and entertaining game, albeit sometimes repetitive. However, its remarkable narrative makes it an experience that will bring tears even to the coldest person. Through Kazuma Kiryu, you come to understand that honor still exists among men. At least among those who appear in video games.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is a great time. The remaster is exactly as you'd expect and the new game on top of it is better, more polished, varied, and refined. It's almost converted me to a 3D Sonic guy, which is shocking, and, because it's about Shadow instead of Sonic, you don't have to put up with anywhere near as many obnoxious voice performances. Shadow himself is just a bit broody and says things like "the ultimate power" in an almost-Keanu Reeves voice which really makes me laugh – especially with the Keanu voice pack coming in December for some top tier silliness.

At its core, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 is quite straightforward. While it is generally not very innovative, its blend of hack and slash and third person shooter mechanics creates a special mix that can deliver a well rounded and compact game.

Mafia: The Old Country delivers a highly focused experience that remains entertaining throughout its duration thanks to its variations in gameplay and a truly immersive story. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is one of the best ports the Nintendo Switch has received. Although it doesn't have the graphical power of its bigger counterparts, it still maintains all the challenge, fun, and variety levels of the original game, making it an action title worth trying.

The reality is that Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is an experience for a particular audience. While the presentation and formats are casual, this challenge is not for average gamers. Of course, it's an extraordinary workshop for understanding how speedruns work, but that's all. There is no game preservation. It's more about giving a new presentation to a concept you already know, which can be entertaining for a while.

The reality of the return of SNK vs. Capcom SVC Chaos is that it's essentially a retouched ROM with several display options while keeping the mechanics intact. This doesn't mean that the game's issues at the time have been corrected. Quite the opposite. The good, the bad, and the ugly are all still present.
