Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom pays homage to the legacy of the Wonder Boy series by refining the solid foundations of those games and forging an excellent metroidvania.

Wartales is an intelligent and brutal video game, capable of exalting through excellent game design and mind-boggling contexts and secondary missions. It is impossible to read a very graceful and alive story in a modern way, and the work can be seen in the classic role-playing game as well as it can still be seen. It absolutely is there.

Returnal is an amazing game. Metroidvania, roguelite and bullet hell mixed perfectly, and the result is fluid, rich and incredibly addictive action. The loop becomes the cornerstone of a mysterious, allegorical, at times terrifying narrative, capable of keeping you glued to DualSense from start to finish.

Lake is a truly beautiful narrative adventure. The sound design is excellent and the story progresses in a delicate way, with feeling. An oasis of relaxation in a chaotic world that is always in a hurry.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a bold, badass statement about the power of single player games: a great, dirty and excessive story, an unforgettable cast of characters, that puts the game up there with the likes of Grand Theft Auto and Tarantino. The gameplay offers great freedom for the player, whether he likes mayhem or a more stealthy approach, and it's incredibly rewarding either way. A truly must-have for fans of clever, well-designed FPS action.

Just as Astro Bot Rescue Mission was the perfect title to introduce PS VR, Astro's Playroom is a gem that works better than any manual or data sheet in creating a real man-machine relationship, informal, very pleasant and extremely fun. The DualSense proves to be an exceptional controller with absolutely unique sensory possibilities, capable of bringing the player even closer to the gameplay. Not a traumatic revolution, but still one that leads to a new and unknown level of intimacy that, apart from VR, had never been reached in a “traditional” video game. Its nature as a pre-installed software gives Astro’s Playroom a sensational value in terms of empathy and "first impact" with the new generation, communicating in the language of fun and surprise everything there is to know about the characteristics of PS5. Something far more important than any judgment.

Ready or Not lets us play as the captain of a SWAT team and does so with bewitching skill, captivating you with challenging gameplay and intriguing gunplay. Between single player and online co-op, customization and progression, agent management and nuances galore, you soon find yourself hostage to a brutal FPS that just won't let you go. And that's fine, even if not everything is (yet?) perfect.

Persona 5 Tactica is a passionate and better work in every light and nuance. Enriched by a detailed game design, defined at its best by many approaches that can be performed as desired, its greatest advantage is being linked to the original title and involving, at the same time, with a particularly successful strategic vision à la X-Com . It's a video game not to be missed, full of many nuances and things to do, as well as enriched by a touching story.

Venba could have been my story. Or your story, if you know what means to be the son (or the daughter) of a couple who moved to give you a better future at the cost of giving up to pass on their roots. And it’s awesome a video game could tell this very thing in about two hours of gameplay and stay in your memories forever.

In a certain way, Far Cry Primal remains faithful to the original open-world formula, but somehow, in the Prehistoric Age, the freedom of the player really shines at its brightest. Ubisoft didn't waste resources on the multiplayer, and focused instead on a solid and intriguing story mode, immersed in a world so raw and savage to become majestic. A true far cry from what we usually play.

Fire Emblem Echoes manages to make everyone happy: long time fans will appreciate the chance to play the second Famicom title (never released in the West), while newcomers will find the perfect game to start one of the greatest turn-based tactical series ever made.

Not just a pretty face: Afterimage is not only a beautiful metroidvania, but also a very competent one, clever in taking inspiration from the right sources and able to deliver a world that you never get tired of exploring. Good thing too, considering how big it is.

Mix the feeling of weakness of the movie Open Water with a compelling story, a world to explore in metroidvania style kind of like in Don't Starve, add the maniacal detail of In Other Waters, shake and there we have Subnautica: Below Zero, an intriguing sci-fi survival with just a bit of horror. While at first it might seem a little limited in scope, with a bit of patience you will soon realize how great of a game it is.

Little Nightmares II is based on the relationship between Six and Mono, both from a narrative and a gameplay perspective, and there will be heart-pounding situations where you will come to wonder how much you are willing to push yourself to get both children safe from this spiral of pure terror. If you enjoyed the original game, this new chapter is another little gem worth buying.

The Division is a fun and challenging game, whether you're playing it alone or with some friends, but it requires a certain degree of commitment to be truly appreciated. The gameplay is complex, deep and incredibly rewarding, although some things need to be fixed (i.e., the flawed respawn system). And the infected New York created by Ubisoft is simply wonderful to behold and explore.

Codemasters has finally completed the transformation process of F1 series: F1 2017 is exactly what a fan should expect from a perfect simcade racing game, despite the Ego Engine is almost at the end of its life. Buy it, play it and enjoy it: you will not regret.

This version of Horizon Zero Dawn brings this great former PS4 exclusive to PC, where it can tap into the potential of a much more powerful hardware.

Diving back into Snake Eater in a remastered, more fluid and modernized remake with a revised control system is undoubtedly an offer few would be able to resist. We would have liked to see a little more courage—after all, a betrayal for a just cause would have given the production character—but we understand that Delta is the first timid step toward a new direction for the series. We remain curious to see how Konami will expand its ambitions in terms of re-releases of past installments, perhaps in Volume 2 of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection or, who knows, with future remakes and, why not, new episodes. A reverential homage, perhaps too much so, but nonetheless essential for fans.

Control: Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 5 is a real treat. Gone are all the technical issues that plagued the game on the old generation of consoles: loading times are lightning fast, textures load instantly, and the game runs smooth as silk. Ray Tracing is also an impressive addition to what is already one of the best games of recent times.

Viewfinder was the game I needed. It goes alongside those narrative puzzles with a strong emotional and playful impact such as Superliminal, The Stanley Parable, Mainfold Garden and others that I won't list otherwise the review becomes a "Top Ten Best Video Games Ever". And just like the latter Viewfinder finds a mechanic to revolve around and tells a story that hits and leaves its mark, teaching anyone who plays video games out there that there's no use shooting high with a thousand skill trees or additional options that no one will use never, except to add color when doing the marketing campaign. The video game is made of good playful and narrative design and a small spark is enough to transform a sketch of an idea made on a napkin into a real work of art. Just send a specific message to the user, a message that doesn't matter if it's shared or not because it's your personal message and to do that you have to make sure that each piece fits well with the other like in a perfect machine. Viewfinder's message is clear: the planet is dying and we are killing it, it's time to do something about it. Maybe we should listen to them.

Doom: The Dark Ages is an exciting evolution of the franchise, capable of impressing with its more structured narrative approach and gameplay innovations, without losing the brutal, metallic identity that has always distinguished the saga. The new multifunctional shield and the redesign of the fights give the combat considerable depth, while exploration is finally rewarded with huge areas overflowing with secrets. However, some of the more spectacular sections (such as those aboard the mecha) feel isolated and unimpressive, and the absence of a multiplayer mode - though perhaps justified - remains a missed opportunity to extend the longevity beyond the solid campaign.

Incredible and aesthetically striking, Nobody Wants to Die offers a deep and brutal story, which uniquely details the criticism of alcohol and antidepressant abuse. It also details a character who tells his existence in detail, through a gameplay that is exposed in a unique and well-defined way, demonstrating a lot of personality. A video game to have, both for those who are passionate about similar scenarios, and for those who need a breath of fresh air.

The Fractured but Whole is a perfect sequel that adds precious new stuff in the usual, irreverent, politically incorrect world of South Park. An incredible experience for the fans of the series and for those searching for a fun and crazy adventure RPG as well.

Beyond Galaxyland surprises you from start to finish, it is brilliant and full of well-blended ideas. The audiovisual section does its job incredibly well, rarely have I felt so often the desire to stop to take a screenshot or listen to the OST of a game. The various souls - JRPG, platform, puzzle, creature collection, crafting, progression system - are not particularly deep individually, but put together they manage, as if by magic, to give life to an immersive, convincing experience, with delicate but successful balances. It soon becomes difficult to detach yourself also because, one planet at a time, you end up becoming fond of the characters, getting in tune with Doug and making his air of a fish out of water catapulted into worlds that do not belong to him your own. If there really is life in the universe, let's hope it is as EnrightBeats imagines it.

The Infernal Edition represents the most complete and modern incarnation of Blizzard's classic. A flawed, unforgettable odyssey.
