Anarchic, exciting and at times ingenious: The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom is an adventure that will test your brains without overstressing your fingertips. It doesn't last long and hardcore gamers will perhaps complete it too quickly, but the journey is sensational and enveloped in the usual ‘made in Nintendo’ magic that makes it a must-have in any case.- The Games Machine

Super Mario Maker 2 is a masterpiece. An exuberant and hilarious editor that makes the Wii U game look like a beta version. An irresistible tool used by Nintendo itself to create a brilliant story mode and an even more social chapter, perfect for sharing the experience, online or on the sofa.- The Games Machine

A cinematic blockbuster playable and enjoyable from start to finish, with very few pauses, a rare attention to detail and an almost touching gameplay expertise. Indiana Jones fans will live a dream lasting 20 hours or more but even those who have never particularly loved the famous archaeologist have the opportunity to enjoy one of the best action-adventures of recent years.- The Games Machine

Horizon Forbidden West is an excellent second chapter, backed up by top-notch art direction and sekaikan. The plot dares to take an unexpected direction with results that are not entirely appreciable, but overall it is a worthy continuation of Aloy's adventures that deserves to be experienced. PlayStation 4 or 5, it makes no difference.- The Games Machine

The Last of Us Part I is a masterpiece of gameplay with a story worthy of Hollywood. Definitely the best transposition of Joel and Ellie's adventures, with some technical inconveniences on day one that are being quickly resolved.- The Games Machine

I would like to fill this box with "buy it, it's awesome!", like Jack Torrance and his "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". There would be nothing more to say but it wouldn't sound professional. So I’m going to talk about frantic and fun action, tons of enemies to obliterate in the most creative ways, intriguing story, no loading times, intuitive and reactive controls, PS5 hardware that finally proves its mettle, puzzles to solve, battles down to the last hitpoint, planets to explore, mounts to ride, secrets to discover, weapons to upgrade, armors to collect, oh dear I ran out of characters, so buy it, it's awesome.- The Games Machine

Ghost of Yōtei is an ambitious project, capable of capitalising on the success of Ghost of Tsushima while building its own identity, rooted in the cultural context of the Ainu and 17th-century Hokkaidō. The protagonist, Atsu, is a highly successful character: strong, consistent and driven by clear motivation, she carries the narrative forward with intensity without ever seeming like Jin's female counterpart. The combat system evolves the formula of its predecessor, adding variety and a faster pace, while the game world is rich and dense, rewarding exploration with both concrete upgrades and narrative ideas such as the bond with the Wolf, one of the best-realised ideas. Aesthetically and sonically, the title reaches one of the peaks of the current generation: from visual filters with great personality to an inspired soundtrack, to consistently theatrical art direction, Ghost of Yōtei knows how to enchant with continuity. However, there are still limitations that betray the legacy of the past, including stealth that is still lacklustre and outdated exploration mechanics. Overall, it is a game that is entertaining and engaging, greater than the sum of its parts, but one that prefers caution over revolution.- The Games Machine

Bayonetta 3 undoubtedly ranks among the best action games out there, and is one of the most ambitious projects out of the PlatinumGames forges. Such a weight makes the technical realization creak, in turn constrained by the limits of the Switch, however the end result is a party for all fans of these games and the charismatic Cereza.- The Games Machine

Metroid Dread convincingly shows that Samus Aran is, after so many years, still at the (or very near to) the top of the genre it helped define. MercurySteam's creation is exhilarating, well balanced and beautiful to look at; even the somewhat atypical E.M.M.I. sections are competently integrated with the rest of the game.- The Games Machine

Tengo Project strikes again, this time with its most ambitious work yet. A far cry from being a simple update of an old classic, Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn is a full-fledged remake made with inventiveness and respect for the source material, a true rewrite of an eight-bit game that has passed somewhat under the radar in the West. It could not have received a better redemption.- The Games Machine

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart finds its fullest expression on the mid-end to high-end PC, delivering unmatched graphics quality that PS5 just couldn’t achieve. It guarantees lot of fun thanks to fast-paced action, tons of enemies to eliminate in the most creative ways, intriguing story, intuitive and responsive controls, puzzles to solve, battles to the last hitpoint, planets to explore, mounts to ride, secrets to discover and weapons to upgrade. The Steam Deck version is a little miracle, properly handling such a hardware challenging game.- The Games Machine

Heretic + Hexen marks the grand return of two first-person fantasy classics, brought to life by Nightdive Studios with an impeccable and meticulous restoration. Technical improvements, new campaigns, and reworked balance enrich the experience without betraying the original spirit, offering the best of both eras: the freshness and usability of modernity and the rugged charm of the '90s. Whether you're a veteran ready to dust off old glories or a new adventurer curious to explore these milestones, you'll find a solid, rich package capable of engaging for dozens of hours.- The Games Machine

It took a while, but in the end Fate of Atlantis can give up its scepter: Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is the best video game dedicated to the archaeologist with the whip, a true cinematic blockbuster to be played. Technically and artistically glorious, it shows some uncertainty on the front of the secondary missions not always interesting and some mechanics that could have been developed with greater judgment. Everything else is pure love for the world of Indiana Jones.- The Games Machine

Nixxes Software raises the bar once more with The Last of Us Part II Remastered, a technical, narrative and action masterpiece. The physics engine gives combat a vicious realism, while textures and models elevate environments and actors' expressions to cinematic levels. The story, to be experienced through the different points of view of the two protagonists, will keep you on your toes until the credits roll, while the roguelike mode No Return offers new challenges to the most demanding players. Various graphical and accessibility configurations will allow everyone to experience the adventures of Ellie and Abby. The best version of the saga conceived by Naughty Dog is undoubtedly this one.- The Games Machine

Nioh 3 is a conscious and surprisingly ambitious evolution. Team Ninja chose not to abandon the identity built over time, preferring to refine and expand upon it with ideas that deeply impact the rhythm and structure of the experience. The new duality between samurai and ninja is a systemic addition that enriches the combat system like never before, making it freer, more creative, and more layered, without sacrificing the technical and punishing soul that has always distinguished the series. The open maps, while not groundbreaking, finally give breathing room to a progression that was more mechanical in the past, transforming grinding into exploration and repetition into discovery. Certainly, the recycling of assets and an activity structure that feels somewhat dated prevent the game from reaching truly memorable heights in terms of wonder and presentation, but these limitations weigh less than one might expect, thanks to a constant sense of growth and a consistently rewarding reward system. A title that demands a lot from the player in terms of attention, study, and dedication, but gives back just as much to those willing to embrace its complexity: undoubtedly the most complete, mature, and satisfying Nioh ever made.- The Games Machine

Antonblast meets the primal need to play a game to smash everything and score points without caring too much about the story, which, however bizarre, is simply a guise for introducing the action. The various levels are very different from each other but always united by destruction. The atmosphere felt owes much to Wario and sometimes even to Sonic, with mad runs down very steep slopes and jumps into the void while crossing fingers for everything to be okay. The ability to remember critical points on the map is rewarded more than the players' actual skill, but who cares? It entertains, and that's enough.- The Games Machine

A Way Out could have been a lucky shot but It Takes Two confirmed the talent of the team led by Josef Fares in creating very fun and mirror games characterized by true strokes of genius. Split Fiction remains on the same, very high levels of its predecessors and even on Nintendo Switch 2 it confirms itself as an unmissable experience ... unless you have already experienced it on other platforms given the lack of any type of additional bonus.- The Games Machine

There’s no doubt Arboria is an interesting rogue lite, but perhaps it was been published at the wrong time, in a market really overcrowded by games of the same type. The game offers captivating graphics, the original setting and the robust combat system, as well as the interesting character skill tree have but also lacks variety, which combined with the absence of side quests tends to make every run look the same. I still enjoyed, although the long waiting times between one run and the next are a poor fit for the genre.- The Games Machine
