Atelier Yumia is a bold step forward for the series, embracing a more expansive open-world structure and a modernized combat system. The alchemy mechanics remain engaging, but the streamlined progression and reduced party interactions may not sit well with longtime fans. Visually, Gust has delivered its most polished Atelier yet, though the art direction leans towards the familiar. While the lower difficulty might divide opinions, the open-world exploration—clearly inspired by gacha-style games—adds a fresh dynamic without impacting core gameplay. If you seek a more action-oriented Atelier with a fresh narrative approach, this entry is worth a look.- The Games Machine

F1 25 marks an improvement over the previous installment, featuring new content and a more in-depth My Team mode. The LIDAR scanning has made some tracks much more realistic, though the disparity with those that haven't been updated is noticeable. As for Braking Point, once again, the developers have opted for a highly dramatized approach to Formula 1, resulting in a simplistic and somewhat unrealistic narrative. The driving model remains largely unchanged, offering a good balance between arcade and simulation.- The Games Machine

Gunbrella throws a huge amount of elements into the pot of game design: twin stick shooter, action platformer, a touch of adventure, pure arcade sections, and a story designed specifically to insert any element into the game without penalizing narrative coherence. Impossible to properly delve into every aspect in the bare eight hours required to finish it, but the result is nevertheless very interesting, also by virtue of a slightly lower price than the average for this type of videogame. It also features a very well executed filter that gives the noir look to the excellent pixel art graphics- The Games Machine

Despite some relatively minor issues, especially in the graphical compartment, Age of Empires IV is an excellent new chapter in the history of one of the most beloved RTS sagas. Relic Entertainment and World's Edge kept true to the roots of the series while at the same time not forgetting to innovate the formula in interesting and creative ways.- The Games Machine

Persona 5 Strikers is a good action role-playing game, but an imperfectly polished combat system and the absence of some of the series' core elements make it a must-buy only for fans of the Phantom Thieves.- The Games Machine

SteamWorld Heist 2 grabbed me right away with its light-hearted tone and the fact that it offered considerable tactical depth without being punitive in its approach. On the contrary, the developers seem to say "Come on, try this thing too, you have nothing to lose anyway!". The management of the difficulty level and the mission structures do the rest, while it is only a partial lack of variety of enemies that prevents Thunderful Development's game from reaching excellence.- The Games Machine

An atmospherically rich puzzle game with an intriguing backstory and simple but layered gameplay. Too bad about a few too many stumbles on Nintendo Switch and near-zero replayability.- The Games Machine

Syberia: The World Before gave me back the sense of wonder I felt, twenty years ago, with the first two episodes and, for this alone, for me it is a big "yes". There are some rather glaring flaws such as the fluctuating quality of 3D models, in particular the characters and some mechanisms when they are shot in the foreground, but nothing that detracts from the impressive narrative work and the extraordinary emotional impact of this adventure, which brings a dramatic story to the stage with great delicacy. There is also a lot of art, both figurative and musical, with a pinch of humor that never hurts. Someone will find it too easy, too guided, but I certainly liked it.- The Games Machine

My Friend Pedro is a sequence of short, intense levels which morally oblige the exasperated spectacle, exciting like few other run ‘n’ guns. Then There is a whole outline of apathetic environmental puzzles, bizarre situations and an aesthetic between the chilling and the anonymous.- The Games Machine

The Xbox One version of Cities: Skylines is an excellent conversion of an excellent game, with no noticeable differences from the PC version. Strange thing, though, the After Dark expansion is included in the game, but the previously released DLCs (Snowfall and Natural Disasters) are still missing.- The Games Machine

Sine Mora EX is a revamped version of a shoot'em up originally published five years ago. The game sports an astounding art direction, a little less challenging difficulty, and a great playability, with a plethora of options that will suit every gamestyle, including the long-awaited local multiplayer.- The Games Machine

In its attempt to mix STALKER and Escape from Tarkov, ZERO Sievert does a good job overall. Be careful, though, because this is not a game where shooting relaxation is the priority: you have to plan a little, you have to carefully evaluate when caution is the wisest choice, and you have to expect that sometimes your character will not return home. And yes, sometimes this game setting can be frustrating. Other times, however, there is the satisfaction of having risked a lot and still managed to come home safe.- The Games Machine

World War II according to Relic once again graces our PCs, and while there's certainly a few remarks to be made here and there, it's really hard not to look extremely favorably upon Company of Heroes 3, which brings a dose of enviable content and a personality that few other strategists are able to express at the same level.- The Games Machine

Recovering from the mists of time an old game like a Dragon: Ishin! may be a risky choice, but the restoration operation can be considered perfectly successful. Perhaps the overall variety doesn't quite reach the heights of insanity of the very latest chapters, but the fun offered by the classic arcade combat system is still very much up to date, classifying Ishin! as a successful exponent of the celebrated series.- The Games Machine

A new chapter of Ryza’s saga, Atelier Ryza 2 improves the combat system with the interesting Item Rush mechanic. Its longevity is also very good thanks to a wide variety of activities, but those looking for a challenge might be disappointed by its difficulty. All in all, Atelier Ryza 2 is a game that shows the care and love that went into its making.- The Games Machine

Stellar Blade is a video game that simply takes the best of many works, expanding the concepts in its own way. It's a warm and long-lived production, satisfying and with real action, which could certainly do its best with a second chapter. SHIFT UP Corporation, carefully packaging its work, has given life to a new series and created a character that could surprise in the future.- The Games Machine

Despite the excellent start, A Plague Tale: Innocence doesn’t really blossom into a real masterpiece. The small bugs, some unintuitive commands and the fold taken by the narrative diminish some of the really positive features. The result, however, is still a good game.- The Games Machine

The '80s aesthetics of GRIDD: Retroenhanced isn't probably the most original, but Antab Studio managed to create an excellent arcade shooter working from those stereotypes up, adding a deep gameplay and a strong personality. As Ronald Reagan used to say, "easy to learn, difficult to master"!- The Games Machine

Despite its stand-alone nature, Death of the Outsider is a sort of DLC with a simplified gameplay that can be fully understood if you have played both the first and the second episode of the series only. Cursed Castilla is as good as it was five years ago. You can play the original game - for free - on the Locomalito site, and this Nintendo 3DS version suffers from some problems, like the plain ugly coin-op mode or the really tiny graphics. Should you decide to buy the portable version, though, know that it's best played on a 3DS XL.- The Games Machine

Sifu turned out to be the classic bolt from the blue: despite expectations, the guys from Sloclap managed to outdo themselves with a title of monstrous maturity and awareness. There are some flaws, such as a non-optimal camera management and some small sporadic interpenetration that can annoy you during the execution of very fine martial arts, but the playful offer stands at impressive levels, amusing and encouraging you to do more and more and always better.- The Games Machine

Black Myth: Wukong is a video game with a brilliant and well-composed combat system, full of facets and things to see. It could very well be a new yardstick for the action genre, even if the inexperience of the team in some respects, also due to the amount of bosses within it, leads to being less enthusiastic than usual. Game Science's video game is usual, really solid, much more than I would have expected. The future of the team, hoping it is far from controversy and aggressive behavior, is well marked.- The Games Machine

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is the crowning achievement of a team that has been able, over the last few years, to devote itself to every aspect of its work with particular and affectionate intensity, succeeding in the complex attempt to surpass what has been done in the past and outlining a production of great cultural depth. The production is touching, violent, brutal and physical, complete and brilliant. A must have.- The Games Machine
