A uniquely styled adventure, with game mechanics that are not new but used in a constructive and entertaining way. Narration, direction and soundtrack contribute to a rich experience that will steal your heart away.- The Games Machine

While it isn’t perfect, with optimization especially leaving something to be desired, Borderlands 4 is a very clear improvement over its predecessor, with a far better paced story, a convincing set of characters, and a gameplay that benefited greatly from the newly added movement mechanics.- The Games Machine

A perfect porting from the PC version, fresh and enjoyable, even without the presence of some DLCs (Snowfall, Natural Disasters and Mass Transit). If you love city builder games, buy it without hesitation.- The Games Machine

Ghostrunner is a pure game: if you came for a parkour adrenaline rush with katana swords, you are in for a treat. The fast pace and good variety of levels and enemies will keep you playing for longer than you expect, and you will barely notice the “meh”-grade graphics.- The Games Machine

Lately, the gaming landscape has seen a constant stream of open world action-rpgs that feel vapid and bloated and that might as well have all come from the same mold. This isn’t Everspace 2’s case, however. Rockfish’s game builds and improves upon the achievements of its predecessor, delivering an incredibly entertaining combat, beautiful vistas, and plenty of content, managing to bring a much-needed breath of fresh air in an over-crowded genre.- The Games Machine

Untitled Goose Game is a joke. A great one. Sure, an evil goose is an excellent starting point, but you need a great awareness of how gags work to make people laugh with it.- The Games Machine

A Highland Song is yet another confirmation for Inkle. A platform adventure capable of mixing the pleasure of trekking (beautifully rendered in 2D) with a delicate, enveloping and branching narrative like the paths that cross the highlands. An intimate story, the one that Moira constantly mulls over to herself, but also a cultural cross-section of a land rich in myths, legends, traditions and history, embellished with very human, slightly crazy characters, capable of becoming fun interlocutors with whom have a chat after a long climb, resting and sheltering from the cold of the mountains. Suggestive, audiovisually inspired, playfully fluid and very focused. Now I really want to visit Scotland.- The Games Machine

With its horror setting, slow-paced gameplay and unforgiving permadeath Hunt: Showdown is one of the most interesting FPS of this generation. An easy game to recommend if you like the idea of hunting big bad monsters and don't mind the random server problems.- The Games Machine

Fire Emblem Echoes manages to make everyone happy: long time fans will appreciate the chance to play the second Famicom title (never released in the West), while newcomers will find the perfect game to start one of the greatest turn-based tactical series ever made.- The Games Machine

Fast and furious fights in a cyberpunk world, this time also on a futuristic bike exploring post-apocalyptic lands – who wouldn’t love that? Too bad a few too many puzzle keep the adrenaline rush at bay and distract from the most exciting parts of the game.- The Games Machine

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie may not mark the beginning of a new narrative arc, but it serves as a celebratory culmination of a beloved RPG series. With its well-crafted characters and intricate political storytelling, it offers a final chance to revisit the rich Trails universe. While visual aspects may show their age, the engaging gameplay and memorable interactions make this a worthwhile experience for dedicated fans. For newcomers, starting with earlier entries in the series is recommended for a proper introduction.- The Games Machine

Marvel Cosmic Invasion once again confirms Tribute Games' ability to engage with a genre they know inside out, without sacrificing their own identity. It's a brilliant homage to the beat 'em ups of yore, finding fertile ground for ideas, pace, and character in Marvel's cosmic landscape. Some sporadic frame rate drops in the most intense situations and the natural loss of momentum when playing solo don't detract from its solidity, nor from the care that shines through in every aesthetic and mechanical choice. We weren't able to fully evaluate the online multiplayer, but its presence completes an already generous package. Overall, it's a thoughtful and genuine production that puts the focus back on what really matters: the pure pleasure of the action.- The Games Machine

Life is Strange: True Colors catches up with the original Life is Strange on a narrative level and, unsurprisingly, improves the experience with superior graphics quality, remarkable voice acting, and a beautiful soundtrack. Once stepped out of the bus, it will be easy to totally identify with Alex and be carried away not only by her search for truth but also, more simply, by the everyday life and warmth that only a place like Haven Springs can offer.- The Games Machine

At the moment I spent about twelve hours among the peaks and plateaus that pop up in the clouds of Stormland, fighting the robotic threats of the "Tempest", and I think I will spend as many in the coming days. Contents of this Oculus exclusive by Insomniac Games promise to be infinite, they are not in fact – or, at least, their variety has a precise limit, even in the procedural generation after the end of story mode – but it does enough to be loved by video games sci-fi fans and, in general, those who enjoy approaching open world settings with great freedom of action, often excellent in its concepts and pleasantly in the boundaries of emergent gameplay.- The Games Machine

To enjoy The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV you must at least have finished the previous chapter: it's simply imperative. Recommendations aside, this is an excellent role-playing game, technically not up to date but demonstrating Nihon Falcon's mastery of the genre.- The Games Machine

Children of the Sun is a puzzle game disguised as a first person shooter, in which it seems that the protagonist is The Girl when in fact it is The Bullet. The difficulty of the levels increases gently, without placing insurmountable barriers on the players, but it is unfair not to have a complete overview of the situation from the beginning, which usually happens in this genre of games. Exploding the heads of enemies in super slow motion guarantees double satisfaction, first of all because a kill is always a kill, secondly because it is proof that our strategy works. The pulp atmosphere and the tragic story greatly increase the charm of the game.- The Games Machine

Otxo is violent and frenetic, but it is not a game where you simply have to pull the trigger, as bullet time management is crucial. The roguelike component is not very developed and the game could be better with a progression system, anyway it’s an absolutely recommended buy.- The Games Machine

Another League of Legends spin-off, another Action-RPG, but this time dominating the scene in this stylish Metroidvania is a fun mix of platforming and combat involving time manipulation. Well balanced, fun and fast-paced, even if you are not a fan of LOL you will probably love it.- The Games Machine

Daring missions with all odds stacked against us, that’s the exciting essence of Sumerian Six. The deveolper Artificer is not quite yet at the level of quality Mimimi Games got us used to, but I can already see a lot of good in this game.- The Games Machine

Back to the Dawn is a management RPG set in a prison populated by anthropomorphic animals, with strong survival elements. You have twenty-one days to organize an escape, keeping an eye on time, resources, social relationships, and skills. Every action consumes precious minutes and can influence future events. The turn-based combat system mirrors typical JRPG gameplay. Deep, branching, and challenging, it surprises with its wealth of options and narrative variety, despite its lackluster sound. A brilliant and strategic game, worth replaying several times to see as many endings as possible.- The Games Machine

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero may be the first chapter of the Budokai Tenkaichi series not to be called Budokai Tenkaichi, or the first not to indicate the “Z” with which the second part of the series is famously indicated. Yet it is in all respects a chapter 4 updated to 2024, with lots of lights (and incredible particles) and some shadows that in the end you can easily ignore.- The Games Machine

Marathon takes the Extraction Game philosophy and molds it into the Bungie style. It's not perfect—the UI is awful, and the missions lose their edge over time—but the gameplay loop is fun, and the shooter foundation is solid. And what a style, guys.- The Games Machine

Catherine: Full Body is a journey towards maturity that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but at the same time offers a good excuse for a bit of introspection. Neither a remaster nor a remake, this version manages to offer an even richer and more substantial experience than the original.- The Games Machine
