PUSS! is a punishing pixel-precision challenge wrapped in psychedelic visuals. It feels far too brutal, and the control methods available aren’t always suited to the task. It is a unique challenge, however, for the brave.

Brief Battles has heart, but loose movement mechanics, and no online play or bot functionality make it too difficult to get the most out of this underwear affair. At £12.49, it’s not all that cheap for an eShop game, either.

Gynoug is a classic side-scrolling shooter that has only been improved upon with its move to the Switch. However, its unaltered style and gameplay mean that it won’t appeal to everyone, despite some concessions for accessibility.

Cotton Fantasy has all the makings of a great title. However, the execution of its mechanics does little to set it apart from better games of its kind.

Mobile games often struggle when ported over to other consoles. Although there are hints of fun in Crash Drive 2, its now seven-year-old graphics make the maps look bare and outdated compared to more recent car-related titles.

Overall, Cruis’n Blast is a simple and light-hearted arcade racer that, had it not been for the heavily scripted AI, would be a ton of fun to play. Unfortunately, this overrules all features in the game and leaves it feeling unfair and frustrating.

Electro Ride: The Neon Racing has a unique enough visual style to successfully set itself apart from other arcade racers on Switch. However, poor vehicle handling and the indecision of which type of core racing audience to appeal to gives it a limited appeal.

All-Star Fruit Racing is a colourful vibrant kart racer that brings new ideas to the track but doesn't execute them well enough to become a worthwhile option. Due to tech issues and dead multiplayer, you may find better enjoyment elsewhere.

Patience for this port is a must as early experiences will end in fervent frustration. If you’re a speed freak with a penchant for simulation, there’s a lot to love here, but those looking for a casual racer should look elsewhere.

While strong on storyline and overall feel, the control system stopped Milanoir being great. Repetitive sequences didn't help, either - there were times where the action sequences had me bored, and were a chore to complete.

Close to the Sun takes gorgeous environments and stellar world-building and mixes it with confusing storytelling and a technically bad port. Fans of the “walking simulator” genre will probably want to experience it, but everyone else should walk away.

Nairi: Tower of Shirin has plenty of character, but at times it’s so heavy on the slow-moving text that it feels too much like a children’s book.

A Knight’s Quest seeks to give players access to the serene joy of a 90s action-adventure game. Unfortunately, the result is an unremarkable attempt to go beyond imitation without anything interesting enough to prop it up.

Despite providing a lot of content, Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition is a sports game undecided about its audience. It mixes elements typical of both simulation and arcade experiences, but ends up coming touching down too early on both fronts.

There is great potential in We. The Revolution to provoke genuine empathy for the liberated citizen. This is squandered in favour of sneering at the barbaric past. With poor performance and the dull night-time segments, it isn’t a great package on the Switch.

While it may attract criticism for the licensing issues that meant the absence of a number of boards from other versions of the game, The Pinball Arcade isn't dramatically worse for it due to the similarity of the experiences of each board. It's pinball, and it's table pinball. You know what you're getting.

Battle Group 2 gives you control of a battleship which you tap your way to victory-via-missile. A tried-and-true premise with little in the way of deep writing or story, but the sound effects of missiles firing and exploding enemies might be enough to get you through.

Doodle God: Crime City is fun when you’re doing well but can get soul-crushing when you can’t figure out the right matches, particularly later on in the game.

Almightree has its one clever idea which forms the basis of its twenty levels. But this game isn’t worth anywhere near the £19.99 eShop price.

Despite accurately interpreting a respected franchise and having solid foundations for a fighting game, Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle delivers a slither of content that is not only disappointingly lacklustre. but also unwelcoming for newcomers and littered with inconsistencies and glitches that further hinder the quality of the experience. Local multiplayer is where this may redeem itself, but even that's stretching it for a retail game. For the price, it's not something I'd recommend.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is more Bubble Bobble. One that was possibly intended for a new generation whilst also appealing to the old. Unfortunately though, it is unlikely to provide a memorable experience for either.

Baobabs Mausoleum Episode 1: Ovnifagos Don't Eat Flamingos tries so hard to emulate its influences but misconstrues the difference between inspiration and imitation. Had it toned down the references might’ve been a more original game, maybe even an interesting one.

Cozy Grove is a game with tons of unfulfilled potential. A case of style over substance, it may give completionists plenty of reasons to come back on a daily basis, but every time you do, you have to deal with technical issues and repetitive quests.

An improvement from last year's edition, but things are still too disappointing on the field. Glitches do seem to have been minimised after last year's effort, and a new mode gives some depth off the field, but I was looking for more thrills on it.

Football Game is a short and largely forgettable point-and-click. Its visuals are the most notable part, but with no achievement system on the Switch, there’s little else to drag you in here.

While the ingredients for a compelling roguelite are here, Lone Ruin opts for a straightforward roguelike experience that shines a spotlight on its relative lack of content. Shame, because it is fun and if they’d given me a reason to keep playing it, I would have.

While it’s perfectly passable and could be fun for children and diehard comic fans, Sentinels Of Freedom neither streamlines nor improves the ideas of tactical RPGs. This along with fairly drab visuals and a passable story mean there’s not much here worth saving.

Bendy and the Ink Machine is a decent environmental puzzle title. Sadly, though, it just doesn't work as a survival horror. There are more effective examples already available on the Switch, and you'd do well to check those out first.

With plenty of levels and modes, as well as a recipe for some hilarious gameplay, there’s a lot to like with Never Breakup. However, it’s missing a lot of the polish that would make it an easy recommendation, and it definitely isn’t worth your time on your own.
