Neon Junctions yields solid – if unspectacular – puzzle-platforming, and never quite achieves the level of challenge or innovation that will make it stand out in your collection. Still, there are worse ways one could spend ninety minutes.

Apico has addictive elements and a gorgeous aesthetic, but it’s marred by slowdown, glitches, and a lack of real engagement with the bees. The right patch could make this an excellent, if limited life-sim.

There’s not much new to see here if you played the first game, but Gnomes Garden 3 is certainly fun, and comes at a budget price. It’s worth a look.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 does a decent job of bringing the game into 2021, however it falls short in a few unnecessary ways that might keep newcomers to the series from enjoying it.

Minecraft Legends takes a beloved and familiar IP and tries to extract something new from it. The results are arguably mixed, however, as an introduction to the Strategy genre, Legends provides enough fun to get by.

Battle Princess Madelyn seeks to emulate the likes of Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, to some success. The old-school gameplay may hinders the modern elements from its History mode, but the game still delivers a fun experience.

Short, but impactful. Interesting, but flawed. Umurangi Generation Special Edition is a photography-centered experience that is sometimes weird, sometimes contemplative, but thoroughly unique.

While the core of Mario Golf is fantastic as always, there’s very little around it with Super Rush in either content or variety to keep players entertained. If you want to play a few holes with friends then this is everything you need, but anyone hoping to be blown away by new modes will find this latest release to be sadly just par for the course.

If you don’t mind plenty of death and repetition, with some unfair-seeming failures, Mana Spark can offer an engrossing adventure in which, with patience, you can craft your character and battle your way to victory.

The Long Gate succeeds in providing the most challenging – and often satisfying – puzzle experience I’ve played on the Switch, but that comes at the cost of accessibility for those of us who aren’t geniuses.

With plenty of hidden depths to its gameplay, including optional extras, Build a Bridge! will reward fans of physics sims with its comedic take on science. Others may find the overly complex controls and reliance on trial and error somewhat frustrating.

Staxel offers some fun gameplay, but it retreads a lot of familiar ground in the process, and nothing about it stands out as unique or exciting. Fans of the genre might like it, but don’t expect any innovation here.

Stick It To The Man is a perfectly functional but forgettable experience due to the tedious elements of the game. The Tim Burton-esque visual style and black humour fails to catch up to its influencers, but offers just enough to be worthwhile to those who share these interests.

Soccer Slammers offers easy to pick up and super fast-paced arcade soccer action. It was never going to rival FIFA in the battle of the football games, but it offers unadulterated short burst fun in a way that its heavyweight rival doesn't.

True Fear is a fun Halloween spook adventure - though it arguably should be scarier than it is. It's more about the puzzles than the scares, so bear that in mind when diving in.

Kid Tripp is a somewhat fun auto-runner game light on content but looks great and is priced generously. It has its frustrating moments, but there's certainly worse games lingering out there on the eShop.

Once you get into the groove of its logic, it has solid pacing, clever puzzles, and enough charm to keep players engaged.

Sonic Frontiers manages to blend the speedster’s gameplay with an open-world setting, but it does so in a rather unrefined way. There’s fun to be found in Frontiers’ most exciting moments, but the overall package is lacking polish.

Wallachia sticks to the 16-bit gaming template – warts and all – to deliver a fun ride for fans of retro 2D scrolling adventures. Repetition may limit the appeal however; this is a Dracula story that perhaps lacks bite.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - Royal Edition is a mixed bag of an adventure. It is worth a visit but performance issues and dull gameplay mean it may not be worth a stay.

Hoa is short and, at times, you’ll be forgiven for forgetting you’re even playing a game. That’s not all bad, though: Hoa gives you room to breathe, to escape into its spectacularly-painted world for relaxation rather than challenge.

Atelier Ryza 3 works as a fitting end to this particular trilogy, even if its various gameplay mechanics cause more frustration than enjoyment. Persevere and you’ll find plenty to enjoy here, but this really is a game you need to be fully invested in.

The Falconeer: Warrior Edition is an impressive technical achievement coming from the mind of just one individual in Tomas Sala. It looks great and feels fully-fledged. Take that out of the equation, though, and things are a bit too unvaried and repetitive for our liking.

Post Void lovingly pays homage to the chaotic first-person shooters of yesteryear, whilst still managing to carve out its own unique identity. Though its affinity for the past holds it back in some regards, any fan of the genre would be a fool to miss out on the adrenaline-fuelled action on offer.

The VideoKid, though bearing noticeable similarities to popular mobile titles and with its fair share of faults and issues, is an affordable and entertaining drop-in indie title that you can pick up and play anytime. Challenging, yet charming, and with plenty of nods to 80s pop culture, this is a game that you will be retrying for hours in the hope of reaching your precious Jessica.

Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town is a great callback to classic point-and-click adventure games but is let down by the frustration its puzzles can cause. However, a unique visual style and story are still worth discovering underneath.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons offers players some unique gameplay mechanics and a story that doesn’t get boring, but sadly the numerous bugs and framerate issues don’t justify the £34.99 price point.
