Soccer Story puts the player on an RPG with the purpose of bringing football back. Yet and despite its open world and some engaging puzzles, the least fun part of this game is the sport itself, as the sections where the player will take part in actual football are the least appealing, mostly due to its excessively simplistic gameplay and poor AI. This is a pity, as some elements in Soccer Story are worth looking at, even though its missions are rather mundane and the plot is too simplistic.

This RPG features a stunning game environment, where the visual world and the soundtrack contribute to the player's immersion. The experience could benefit from a more dynamic gameplay, however, as its rather slow pacing and long prologue will make things difficult for players who want to see the plot advancing and their character developing with each play session.

Serial Cleaners is another twist on the stealth action genre, one that uses a crime drama ambiance to put us in an unusual place as the cleaners of bloody crime scenes who must also avoid the authorities. Fun, creative, accessible, and with an exquisite soundtrack, Serial Cleaners greatly expands on its predecessor's legacy, but it's perhaps a bit too simple for more experienced players, and it can get repetitive after a while. Nevertheless, its formula works like a charm if played in short bouts.

Splatoon 3 takes everything the previous games did and makes it better in pretty much every conceivable way. More fluid, more dynamic, with a more balanced gameplay and a very welcome enlarged one-player dimension, Splatoon 3 is all that could be expected from the third chapter in the series, where the improvements fit neatly with the Splatoon legacy.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a remake of the 1999 original and it does a good job at bringing the Pac-Man platformer to our day and age, with its remarkable visual renovation and significant improvements to the controls and gameplay mechanics. Nonetheless this is a game that fans of more modern platformers will find rather limited, given how its structure mostly reflects the time of its original release with worlds that are completely separated from each other and a camera that is far from dynamic.

Featuring a great world to explore, very tricky and demanding challenges and a fully immersive plot, this edition of Soulstorm will have players fully mired in its intricacies. Not all its aspects are flawless though, and some elements of level design along with long load times will cause some bouts of frustration, but this is an overall marvelous Oddworld experience and in a handheld-friendly format, too.

One True Hero is a 3D platformer that draws inspiration from some of the genre's biggest names. Yet and despite its intuitive gameplay and well written humour, One True Hero doesn't live up to its peers. The choice of art style, while not wrong per se, is affected by too many issues that draw the player's attention away, and the experience ends up suffering from too many bugs that turn what could have been an enjoyable game into something frustrating. One True Hero could very well benefit from an update aimed at correcting its flaws.

Obviously based on golf, the platforming, puzzle and roguelike elements make a very creative twist on the sport of stroking a ball towards a hole. The difficulty level is high, the ball gets additional properties, the game's ambient is comically sombre, and the soundtrack is exquisite. All this put together creates an original and very rewarding experience for all Nintendo Switch players.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments is a thrilling detective puzzle game that puts the players at the very centre of a masterfully portrayed Sherlock Holmes story. Using one existing Sherlock Holmes case and five original cases devised for the game, Crimes & Punishments does a brilliant work when it comes to mystery-solving, where the player has a wide margin to approach each case and decide where to proceed. While the visual performance does show the Nintendo Switch limits and the controls can feel a bit awkward at times, this is an overall very involving experience and will captivate all fans of detective mysteries.

LEGO Bricktales is a fun puzzle game and a relaxing experience that follows a different direction of the LEGO world. While there is a (minimal) plot here, the core of the experience is based on building, and that's where the game stands out the most. Fun and engaging challenges and a welcoming gameplay for beginners, that's what LEGO Bricktales is about.

OMNO may bring a simple and rather short experience, but its gripping and accessible gameplay, gorgeous art style and ease of exploration will no doubt provide a welcome few hours for players looking for something more relaxing. Indeed while OMNO's simplicity might not be ideal for those looking for something very intense, anyone who wants to enjoy themselves with rather accessible puzzles and a charming world to explore will find in this game a lovely addition to their Nintendo Switch collection.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 follows the footsteps of its predecessors and sticks to their guns. This third chapter introduces some new elements, namely when it comes to character mechanics, but it keeps the overall trademarks of the Azure Striker Gunvolt series intact, with emphasis on the frantic action and the marvelous audiovisual world. Those looking for a high difficulty challenge might end up a bit disappointed though, as the game is truly as accessible as humanly possible.

Arise: A Simple Story - Definitive Edition is an emotional and visually striking journey where a simple but involving gameplay will bring players to focus on the experience, while its exquisite soundtrack fits perfectly with the game's purpose. Featuring a deliberately slow pace that will soothe the most stressful souls, Arise is a very welcoming work that will fit very well in anyone's Nintendo Switch, especially in this Definitive Edition that brings a good amount of additional content.

Please, Touch The Artwork is a simple but charming effort that blurs the theoretical boundaries between an interactive game and art from the real world, in this case from the works of abstract artist Piet Mondrian. The puzzles are addictive and accessible, and they fit perfectly in the Nintendo Switch format as they deliver layer upon layer of visual poetry. Recommended to fans of puzzle games and beyond.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak brings a great deal of improvements to an already very good game. Thanks to the new added monsters, the Switch Skills, the Master Rank, the new abilities for each weapon and overall improvements to the experience, Sunbreak helps making Rise the ultimate Monster Hunter game on Nintendo Switch.

Many of its ideas are commendable, with emphasis on the growing cast of playable characters, making the plot more interesting to explore with new characters at the player's disposal. However the combat, which there is a lot of, is harmed by an overall sense of boredom and repetitiveness which end up harming the player's motivation. The level design could use improvements as well, as the dungeons have little in terms of originality and don't manage to captivate the player to keep going. There was a lot of potential to explore in Dusk Diver 2 but as it is, it feels like a half-effort towards something that can be much more interesting.

Replacing turn-based gameplay with dynamic action, Three Hopes brings three different stories that intertwine with each other, along with different endings and side quests that allow access to additional rewards. While the missions could be more varied, the gameplay is very fun and engaging, and this is without a doubt a very good game that can bring a renewal to both the Fire Emblem and Dynasty Warriors series.

Happy Home Paradise is the most ambitious and substantial expansion for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While it's also the series' first paid expansion, its price is certainly worth it as it nearly adds a whole new game to the original with what feels like a part time job from the game's location. Happy Home Paradise is without any doubt a major contribution towards making New Horizons the most complete and varied game in the Animal Crossing series so far.

As far as control and action go, this chapter of Mario Strikers works very well and it knows how to introduce players to its mechanics. The game disappoints when it comes to its content, however, as it feels like it's been cut short with regards to characters and game modes. On top of that, while the online multiplayer experience is marvelous, despite the lack of some functionalities, the single player experience is rather limited in its scope and its appeal ends too quickly.

Its lovely art style, despite the lack of animations, is also a very welcome element, helping to create a Victorian-era atmosphere that fits perfectly with the game. Lamplight City's puzzles could have benefited from different difficulty levels though, as they feel too simplistic, which might put off more seasoned players of point and click adventures.

Thanks to an exquisite art style, a challenging combat system, a very interesting mind-based plot and a very well implemented and flexible character development model, Monark boasts elements that are worth highlighting. Where Monark does less well is on its execution, though, as well as on its simplistic and repetitive puzzles, but it's the game's laggy performance that often harms the experience and makes it difficult to enjoy to anyone beyond a core of RPG fans.

The House of the Dead: Remake is a contemporary update of the first game in The House of the Dead series and this remake does a decent job with most elements, giving us a good looking world, competent controls and a very welcome and challenging new game mode. At this level, this remake successfully brings the experience to our day and age. Its performance is affected in the most intense moments, though, especially in multiplayer mode and its long loading times may be off-putting for less patient players.

Disney Magical World 2: Enchanted Edition is a remake of a 2015 game originally released for the Nintendo 3DS but the change in format does not harm the experience in any way. This life simulation game is full of Disney content to explore and live out, and with its relaxed game pace, accessible difficulty level, and spaces to explore, it's a very fitting experience for players of all ages and skill levels who want to explore the Disney world at their own pace.

Itadaki Smash draws inspiration from classic side-scrolling beat'em ups and it does a good job at presenting different characters with their own characteristics and differentiated game modes, as well as a touch of humour. It does a less good job when it comes to its hit box, which needs to be better implemented, a rather simplistic visual world that doesn't quite captivate our senses, and an experience that overall feels lacking in profoundness.

While its length is relatively short the game features a captivating plot set in the hallways of 18th century France as players make their way towards the royal court, deceiving others with a panoply of card tricks. Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream is another chapter of the Mysterious Trilogy and one that brings a series of welcome improvements regarding its predecessor, while keeping the fundamentals of the formula intact. What we have here is a classic Atelier game with a modern touch, featuring a gorgeous, vibrant and varied world with an original exploration system and an updated combat mechanic that makes it more dynamic. All in all, Atelier Sophie 2 is the best game in the Mysterious Trilogy.
