Wonder Boy Collection celebrates 35 years of the Wonder Boy series by bringing together four of its most popular games, including one that had never been released outside Japan before. Thanks to a competent work of emulation and to a stable performance, the experience runs smoothly. Extras such as saving anywhere, rewinding the action and screen visualization options make this a user-friendly experience that contemporary players appreciate. While there was room for more content, what we have here is quite good for fans and newcomers alike.

While it does not redefine the genre, Blast Brigade's demanding but fair gameplay, competent execution and memorable boss fights, as well as a gorgeous art style and plenty of humour will make this a safe bet for any fans of action platformers looking for a fun time.

This collection of frantic minigames does just that - players are strongly encouraged to keep moving or they risk losing their game, and Move or Die: Unleashed does a great job at this. The action is crazy and constant, and while this is no visual feast, Move or Die: Unleashed is a marvelous formula for anyone who would like to spend a few hours with their friends, local or online, engaging in absolutely crazy minigames of different kinds.

Blue Reflection: Second Light is a JRPG that brings us a very interesting experience and theme, as well as an addictive combat system, exquisite soundtrack and a captivating plot. Second Light is a very recommended work to fans of JRPGs who enjoy building bonds between characters and going into their plots to find out more and more, which makes this game a welcome arrival on the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

While simple at first, Slipstream's gameplay becomes more complex and addictive as the game goes on, and the variety of game modes and effects, as well as its marvelous visual environment make this game a fabulous choice for those seeking some retro-inspired driving fun, which could have been even better if it featured an online multiplayer experience.

Unusually enough, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a prequel of a game that hasn't been released yet but it will appeal to fans of the Suikoden series and JRPGs in general. While the game takes a while until it truly takes off and its more in-depth characteristics become more prominent, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising features a gorgeous art style, a surprising plot, charismatic characters and a very welcome city-building mechanic.

Due to some frustrating issues with the control system, unaddressed technical flaws, and an overall sense of repetitiveness that starts taking over all too early in the game, Bugsnax leaves the impression it could have made a much larger splash but as it is, this adventure/exploration game doesn't quite stand up to its peers.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers brings a new visual approach to the EDF series but while the aesthetics are new, the gameplay experience remains mostly the same, though more accessible for a wider audience. World Brothers also brings a myriad of characters, which help make this a rich experience, but the lack of local co-op multiplayer using a single Nintendo Switch and EDF's usual performance issues end up harming World Brothers for those players less familiar with the series, as well as its high price for what's here. Regulars and veterans will certainly enjoy what's here, though.

A stunning audiovisual world coupled with a ton of content to explore, even more objects to inhale and an impeccably executed co-op component make this a fantastic premiere in a genre where we too often think the last word has been written - it has not, and Kirby is here to remind us.

Nobody Saves the World is a charming action RPG with a beautiful visual style, accessible and welcoming gameplay, and a great variety in how we handle its dungeons. Its mechanics are simple enough for any player to grasp but that doesn't mean its difficulty level doesn't get demanding. Nobody Saves the World is a fun and ambitious gem that goes beyond the label of an 'indie' game and which will fit nicely in any Nintendo Switch.

Its accessible difficulty level is a very positive element for less experienced players but along with a rather slow pacing, it makes this effort less attractive for more versed hands. All in all, The Cruel King and the Great Hero may not tower above its peers but it's certainly a worthy and lovely-looking work to explore.

Chocobo GP brings us back to the world of go-kart racing with these famous Square-Enix characters and what we have here is a fun game with a huge cast and a very motivating main campaign with plenty of content to unlock and a well implemented online multiplayer component. It takes a considerable amount of time to unlock every single item but what's on offer here is a very wide and long-lasting game that will certainly make fans happy.

Under the guise of a puzzle-platformer, what we have here is an emotionally enthralling game that pits us in an immersive experience where subjects like love and grief are masterfully presented in a way very few games manage to do. Lost Words: Beyond the Page is without any doubt a work that deserves to be in everyone's Nintendo Switch collection.

TAITO Milestones is a compilation of ten TAITO arcade games of the 1980s, some of which less known to the general audience. If the emulation of the games is done successfully, the overall presentation and interface is rather poor, as there are no extras about the games or TAITO that could sweeten this package, not to mention a lack of online multiplayer. Overall this could have been used to present a broader look at TAITO's past.

Ashwalkers is based on an interesting post-apocalyptic theme and features a wide profusion of possible endings to its plot. Nevertheless and despite its good intentions, the game suffers from too many technical issues, a control response that's subpar at best, and a lack of connection between the game mechanics and the experience, where players end up feeling that what's promised in terms of bonding with the characters and required emotional investment doesn't really pay off.

Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX is a re-edition with some modern touches of two cult classics of the 32-bit generation. While some aspects feel outdated, this work holds quite well and it will bring a smile to the faces of fans of the original games thanks to its qualities around the in-depth development of creatures, their design, and the amount of content to explore.

The action packed titles bring with them a great length of gameplay, as well as visible improvements between them. Even though the adaptation is not perfect and there are some visual choices which look questionable, any fan who wants to pick these games again or to discover them for the first time will find a great package in The Ezio Collection, which also includes two short films.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the most ambitious game not just in the LEGO Star Wars series but in the entire series of LEGO games. With that ambition comes a great deal of positive elements for this experience, namely the outstanding representation of the Star Wars universe, the incredible amount of content, a more in-depth and developed combat system, and a difficulty level that's compatible with all audiences. Truly a remarkable work that will fit great in any Nintendo Switch.

Egglia Rebirth brings us an RPG where the gameplay mechanics involve exploration and construction, topped off by a humorous and welcoming environment and plot. Simple and accessible, Egglia Rebirth is best enjoyed in shorter game sessions, given its origin as a game developed for mobile devices which leads to a feeling of repetitiveness if played like most of its console counterparts. Nonetheless, those looking for a fun, comical and accessible experience will find a great time with Egglia Rebirth.

Simple and unambitious, Tinker Racers is not the most stunningly beautiful game ever made, but what it lacks in high production values it more than makes up for in frantic gameplay, especially on local multiplayer. An indie gem for fans of fun-packed multiplayer racing games.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus reinvents the formula of the Pokémon series and delivers one of the finest chapters ever made in the monster-catching universe. Its wide, open world may not look the most impressive but the exploration is very motivating, the game pace is very well executed, and the changes made to the formula with regards to the fighting system and ways of completing the quest all contribute to make this a groundbreaking game in the Pokémon series and a marvelous starting point towards a new direction.

River City Girls Zero brings back the 1994 game featuring the origins of the characters. While this is a good way to introduce current players to the original work, the game's slow pace feels out of touch with today and its lifespan is too short for current day expectations. Still, its gameplay is simple and intuitive, and the way the game is executed on the Nintendo Switch works very well.
