Under the guise of a puzzle-platformer, what we have here is an emotionally enthralling game that pits us in an immersive experience where subjects like love and grief are masterfully presented in a way very few games manage to do. Lost Words: Beyond the Page is without any doubt a work that deserves to be in everyone's Nintendo Switch collection.

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen bring back one of the most solid Pokémon experiences ever made, with a few additional and welcome extras such as the possibility of integrating the players' creatures in Pokémon's modern ecosystem, which help make this version more user-friendly for our time. Above all, it's a vivid demonstration of how well these two games have aged, even if this rerelease could have gone a bit further in its ambition.

Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is an exquisite remake that fits like a charm on the Nintendo Switch 2. Thanks to its many costumization options, it's possible to play either like in the original game or in a much more up to date manner. The plot remains juicy and captivating, even if it takes a bit of time until the real implications are laid bare in front of us. The puzzles are fun to tackle, and the dialogues are always able to get a smile out of the player, even if now and then we come across some outdated clichés. The best treatment that the original Broken Sword could get, now improved on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Blue Reflection: Second Light is a JRPG that brings us a very interesting experience and theme, as well as an addictive combat system, exquisite soundtrack and a captivating plot. Traffix presents a simple but effective concept: a puzzle game built around the task of controlling streetlights. Simple, but challenging, as the difficulty level begins climbing quickly enough, sometimes too much for some players to handle, but the overall experience is nothing but a success, especially with the game’s slick controls.

Yakuza Kiwami is a remake that successfully fulfils its double purpose: to deliver an updated experience to players who enjoyed the original, and to welcome new players. Its enveloping plot, with a myriad of captivating characters and events, the fun and engaging combat system, the possibilities of exploring the game's world and, very importantly, a brilliant technical performance, make this version of Yakuza Kiwami on the Nintendo Switch 2 the ultimate edition of the game, even if a few elements can feel dated at some moments.

New Pokémon Snap brings back a recognizable formula and updates it to our days. If the gameplay remains simple and intuitive, the adding of online capabilities and rankings make the experience all the more interesting. There are lot of Pokémon here too, and the merging of the plot with the gameplay is achieved in a marvelous way. While New Pokémon Snap might get a bit repetitive at times, fans of the series have plenty to look forward to with this delivery.

Paradise Killer brings a unique approach to a visual novel adventure game, where first-person exploration in an open world becomes part of the picture and the player takes part in a criminal investigation with potential multiple outcomes. While the exploration part can feel rather slow and cumbersome regarding the distances travelled in the game, the investigation component is nothing short of a wonder, with its myriad of characters and intricate, alluring plot. Everyone who feels attracted towards visual novels and investigatory adventures should take a close look at Paradise Killer.

Pokémon Legends Z-A brings some very welcome news, such as a dynamic combat system, a very good integration of the Mega Evolution mechanics, and an incredible variety of content to find in a relatively small landscape. The cast of characters is fantastic, one of the very best ever in a Pokémon game, and the soundtrack is a gift to our ears. The game's performance on the Switch 2 is up to a very high standard, too. The exploration can feel repetitive on the medium term, though, and the game's graphics are in need of an update, while the day cycle transition animation can cause problems, but Legends Z-A most certainly lives up to its high expectations.

Nobody Saves the World is a charming action RPG with a beautiful visual style, accessible and welcoming gameplay, and a great variety in how we handle its dungeons. Its mechanics are simple enough for any player to grasp but that doesn't mean its difficulty level doesn't get demanding. Nobody Saves the World is a fun and ambitious gem that goes beyond the label of an 'indie' game and which will fit nicely in any Nintendo Switch.

Famicom Detective Club: The Two-Case Collection is a masterful remake of two original games that are over thirty years old and which now become accessible to many more players around the world. If the original gameplay formula is largely left untouched, the audiovisual presentation is given a thorough renovation that brings it closer to a contemporary experience. This detective adventure is now fit for a modern audience and it's well worth the hours spent on it.

With its wide, lush and consistent open world settings, missions with different gameplay approaches, gorgeous art style, exquisite soundtrack and effects, and an overall very competent performance, Star Wars Outlaws is a unique opportunity to experience an uncommon take on Star Wars based on survival and deception, rather than on brute force. Compliments where they are due, this game was treated like it deserved.

Happy Home Paradise is the most ambitious and substantial expansion for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While it's also the series' first paid expansion, its price is certainly worth it as it nearly adds a whole new game to the original with what feels like a part time job from the game's location. Happy Home Paradise is without any doubt a major contribution towards making New Horizons the most complete and varied game in the Animal Crossing series so far.

Comical, ridiculous and annoying, all at the same time and often in equal proportions, Human Fall Flat manages to hit the intersection between those three adjectives almost perfectly, and in an amount that's just enough to keep players' attention thanks to its well-crafted level design, minimalistic audiovisual environment, and (why not?) customization choices.

Disney Illusion Island is a marvelous action/platformer with its fair share of Metroidvania elements set in a Disney-themed world. While this is not a combat-rich experience, the game world is a positive surprise on account of its design and size, as well as the way entirely different parts link together, not to mention its immense wealth of collectionable objects that almost make a small museum of their own. Its cut scenes, delightfully animated, are perhaps a bit too long, but Disney Illusion Island easily becomes a very reliable companion for fans of 2D platformers on the Nintendo Switch who want something that just keeps growing.

With a gameplay that puts it on the same level of some of the finest roguelikes out there, this work features intense and varied combats, a large amount of content to discover and an intuitive gameplay experience, not to mention a visual environment that follows what its title suggests. All in all, a successful piece for anyone who enjoys action-based roguelikes.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition does not do a complete reworking or revolutionise the original classic, but it delivers an amount of improvements and new content that make this new edition a joy to play. The visual upgrade makes everything more pleasant to look, despite the framerate remaining the same, and the quicker loading times help making the experience swifter. The new areas and increased storage capacity, as well as the ability to invite more neighbours and improved control system further contribute to make this the ultimate way to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

This fourth chapter features an exquisite art style which benefits greatly from a fantastic performance on the Nintendo Switch 2, that omnipresent atmosphere of solitude that goes with every Metroid game, and a jaw-dropping soundtrack. The attempts at an open world are not as fulfilling, however, and the backtracking can feel like a chore, while its plot sometimes breaks the game's momentum, but the core of the Metroid Prime series is all here, and the action and exploration still hit all the right spots.
