Tales of Xillia Remastered does a very good job at bringing the original game to our day and age, ticking all the right boxes as we rediscover a marvelous JRPG that despite relying on many common clichés, can bring in many hours of fun. This edition includes all the game's DLC, which adds a very welcome touch to the experience, and keeps all the best elements of its dynamic combat system. Tales of Xillia Remastered is a very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue, showing how neatly it adapts to a handheld experience, and it's perfectly geared for both veterans and newcomers alike.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key DX brings the Atelier Ryza trilogy to a close, and joins the previous two games on the Nintendo Switch 2 as the best way to experience this trio of alchemy crafting RPGs. Thanks to the extra content and its many quality of life improvements, any player who wishes to experience the epilogue of the trilogy in the most rewarding way should look no further than this Switch 2 release. While some of its original flaws, such as a certain lack of novelty, remain present, the exploration feels more immersive, and both the combat and crafting system remain fun and engaging.

Root Double -Before Crime * After Days- Xtend Edition is a long name for a long game, a visual novel built around a captivating plot that's anchored on mystery and whose endings make the experience worthwhile. It might feel redundant at certain moments, when the same information is repeated way too many times, but what is on offer in this experience is nothing short of enveloping in its disturbing implications.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning brings back to our day a marvelous RPG but instead of remaking it, this remaster adds some improvements to the original formula, rather than trying to rejuvenate its appearance. The result, which includes all the original game's extra content, is an effort whose gameplay experience fits perfectly today, and whose frantic combat and vast world to explore will captivate both the players who know the original and those discovering it now.

Mario Tennis Fever keeps up the tradition of the series by bringing a fun and funny tennis game based on the Mario universe to Nintendo's latest console. Most of it will be very familiar and the game does not take a lot of risks or treads extraordinary new paths, but it does a very competent job at keeping the experience enjoyable, especially on multiplayer. Mario Tennis Fever is a very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 catalogue, where it's bound to keep players serving and smashing like its predecessors did in decades past.

Strange Antiquities is a charming and enrapturing mystery solving game based on strange and unusual objects of the occult. In the role of the apprentice of an antiquities shop owner - or rather, the apprentice of a thaumaturge - players are going to navigate through descriptions and hints about what specific antiquity the clients are looking for, as well as carry out some detective work outside the shop to find more of these unusual items, all while the entire town seems to be taken over by distressing phenomena. Simple but with plenty of new things to find out, including nine different endings, Strange Antiquities is a charm to fans of mystery-solving games with a touch of horror.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak brings a great deal of improvements to an already very good game. Thanks to the new added monsters, the Switch Skills, the Master Rank, the new abilities for each weapon and overall improvements to the experience, Sunbreak helps making Rise the ultimate Monster Hunter game on Nintendo Switch.

It may not be revolutionary or redefine its genre, but Golden Force is a lot of fun to play thanks to its successful formula of good level design, fun combat system and accessible difficulty. It's not a groundbreaking piece of gaming, but it's certainly a very good formula.

Xenoblades Chronicles X: Definitive Edition lands on the Nintendo Switch 2 promising to deliver what its title says, and it does a very good job at upgrading the game's features when it comes to fluidity, responsiveness and resolution, while keeping all that made it an amazing game with its exploration experience and dynamic combat system. It could have delivered in all its promises if it was more consistent with regards to its graphical performance, namely on some of its textures and aliasing effects which could use some improvement, but this edition is nonetheless a better way to experience this adventure.

Curse of the Dead Gods serves us the experience of a long, enveloping roguelite with a combat and exploration mechanic that puts the player at the centre of crucial decision-making that will affect the course of action in significant ways. With its emphasis on risk/reward and the need to pay close attention to what's happening, it's easy to forget that the surroundings could use a bit more visual variety. In the end, Curse of the Dead Gods joins the elite of roguelite games for the Nintendo Switch, and undoubtedly deserves a big deal of attention from the players.

Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings DX is, as the name implies, an enhanced version of the original game, one which can also be found on the Nintendo Switch. Amid improvements to the combat system and the inclusion of the downloadable content, this enhanced version will be a good addition for long-running fans of the Atelier series, and it obviously represents a great opportunity for those less familiar with the original game.

Horizon Chase 2 pays homage to classic arcade racing games with its dizzying speeds, marvelous landscapes, accessible gameplay and a very engaging multiplayer component. With car customization options for a more personalized experience and objectives that act as a motivation to move forward, Horizon Chase 2 is a thrill to play and will fit nicely in the Nintendo Switch of every arcade-style racing enthusiast.

Lapin is a charming 2D platformer that lures players to a challenging experience that will require sharp jumping skills and reflexes. Other than its fine-tuned gameplay and learning curve, Lapin also features a gorgeous visual world, as well as a surprising and even unexpectedly tragic plot line, all of which will keep us very curious until the very end.

REANIMAL is a puzzle-platformer that does a very solid job at creating a horror themed experience with strong emphasis on subtle psychological fears. Its simple but very efficient story-telling, the somber art style and soundscape, as well as slick cooperation mechcanics between the two protagonists bring shape to a memorable introspective game, which could stand out more if its lifespan was longer and it had taken more risks with the challenges posed by its puzzles.

Citizens United!: Earth x Space brings two very fun games under one package, but this is no ordinary 1 + 1 re-release. Both games included are combined in a very well implemented way, making it possible to switch back and forth between them while barely making an effort. With additional content that will please seasoned players, new players will find a whole new fun and engaging world to discover.

This fun and good looking party game works well as a single player experience but as with most party games, it's on multiplayer that it really comes out at its best. While the novelty factor can wear off, there's enough content and unlocking here that will keep players around cake decoration, locally and online, for many enjoyable hours.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe brings back a game originally released in 2011 and gives it a fully contemporary clothing under the form of renewed graphics and sound, as well as its fun and fluid gameplay that will appeal to both newcomers and veterans alike. Adding to all the improvements, this remake further brings two new game modes that extend the experience and contribute to the length of this platformer.

Wreckfest is an intense, fun, action-packed game that brings together arcade style racing and vehicle smashing, and it works great on the Nintendo Switch. With plenty of options and game modes to choose from, Wreckfest is a varied and complete experience and one which should be on the radar of any fan of car-smashing action.

DNF Duel is a 2D fighting game that features an extraordinarily accessible control system and move list that’s certain to put newcomers at ease while welcoming veterans as well. Its Story Mode could certainly have been more developed with such a rich lore, but the sharp, intuitive gameplay experience is going to fit like a glove on anyone who enjoys 2D fighting games.

Lacuna is an intellectual challenge dressed up in a marvelous pixel art style that puts us in a futuristic world where crime and mystery are rife. With its emphasis on puzzle-solving and reasoning, Lacuna keeps players on their toes when advancing through its intricate, captivating plot and the quality of the work on the Nintendo Switch means this is a marvelous game that can be thoroughly enjoyed anywhere.

While simple at first, Slipstream's gameplay becomes more complex and addictive as the game goes on, and the variety of game modes and effects, as well as its marvelous visual environment make this game a fabulous choice for those seeking some retro-inspired driving fun, which could have been even better if it featured an online multiplayer experience.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a sidescrolling beat'em up that does a very good job at being fun, looking sharp, and at providing a very solid cooperative experience, local and online. While it can get a bit repetitive, the game fits nicely with the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, and its cast of characters, pixel art visual style, and dynamic combat are certain to find their place with Marvel and beat'em up fans alike.

Viewfinder is a puzzle game that treats us to an original gameplay mechanic based on altering reality with pictures so we can advance to the next chapter and to the next level. Captivating and with a fair difficulty curve, it does not try to overwhelm us with punitive difficulty or over the top antics, but it does a very good job at keeping us interested in what we’ll have to do next. Viewfinder is a very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue, despite its late arrival compared to the original release date.

Trails of Cold Steel III is a very ambitious game in terms of plot and lore but it really couldn't be no other way in this series. If the fans will be delighted to mire in the game's content, improved interface and combat system, it's also not any less true that Trails of Cold Steel III can feel intimidating for players unfamiliar with the series, and as such they might not enjoy this effort as much as long-time fans, who will find a long-lasting work to wrap themselves with.

Inmost carries with it a strong, emotional message related to feelings of loss and grief and as such, it's a game that starts off right when it comes to bonding with its players. Unfortunately it doesn't take long until unexplainable performance issues start harming the experience with an inconsistent framerate, which is difficult to understand as this is not a visually demanding game (despite its very competent audiovisual art style), and the dull, redundant gameplay with two of its three characters transmits close to nothing in terms of challenge. Inmost could have turned out much better, with a greater investment in its gameplay experience and in solving its paralyzing issues but as it is, this is an interesting but also extremely frustrating game.

Simple to learn, difficult to master, Mini Motorways is a game best enjoyed in short sessions, and with its minimalistic but effective audiovisual presentation and growing complexity, it's certain to appeal to players who enjoy games with a strong strategic component.

A long game, with a lot of investment on its plot and an improved combat system, it may not look the best but its simple visual outlook won't be an issue for longtime fans. Although not all its elements are essential, those who were looking forward to the conclusion of the series will be more than satisfied with Trails of Cold Steel IV.

Wonder Boy Asha in Monster World revisits a classic that most players didn't have the chance to discover and it does a great job at bringing it into our day and age. While it's true that the game's pacing feels rather slow, which is to be expected from a title that's over a quarter of a century old, everything in this work was done in a way that respects the original and brings it up to today's standards.
