Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse - Episode 1: The Penal Zone is a good start for the third series from Steve Purcell's pen. It really makes you want the next chapters right away.

Tekken Card Tournament in a free-to-play game developed by Namco Bandai. The player will fight with his card against the players of all the world. The game has a good but not excellent graphic, a good sound and a simple and nice gameplay.

Transference is a good walking simulator, with a great story. There's not much interaction, but who appreciates a great story will find what he searches.

Shinobi: a name, many stories. The series, which for years has enthralled generations of gamers, comes to 3DS with some choices that will delight the old time fans.

With its first act, Broken Age had made us fall in love again with the old fashioned adventure games, but Schafer and his team have not been able to ride the wave all the way and have fallen right in the end. The second half of this anticipated title is unable to maintain the level of its introductory phase, and goes to ruin a product that perhaps, with a little more courage, would have had the potential to be truly memorable.

The last Kirby game for Wii is just decent. It's absolutely not stunning as Kirby's Epic Yarn.

It’s Pang, basically, but with a faster gameplay and different design choices. The result is an extremely fun arcade game, even if its lack of complex levels makes it impossible to surpass the game it takes inspiration from.

88 Heroes is a surprise: visually stunning and with a hard difficulty level. It has various quotes from 80s movies, and great pixel art work behind it.

Being able to fly in a Paris reconquered by the nature is a moving experience, not to talk about confronting three against three online in VR, which is exciting. Too bad there is not enough content to keep high the player's attention.

Truly an homage to the glorious eighties, Punch Club is an interesting project with a good challenge level, partially ruined by passive fights and a repetitive campaign.

Using the scimitar and the versatile whip, roaming through the levels with free gameplay approach and play everytime different levels is a real pleasure. With an elaborated story and a higher budget, City of Brass could've been a even better game.

If you didn't get a chance to play it on PC last year, Shadow Warrior 2 on consoles is still worth your time, but this version is not on par with the PC one, with halved framerate, no HDR and no new content.

Orc: Vengeance is a great looking hack'n'slash and is extremely fun to play, but it's also too easy and the touch controls need a little tuning.

An incredible value for a very high price, especially if compared with the App Store average. FF III always in your pocket is surely tempting, but you'll have to spend way too much to get it.

An interesting mix between RTS and tower defense, Mushroom Wars 2 keeps on challenging with fast-paced, tactical battles. A suggested game, even if it can be a bit frustrating at times - especially if you are not so patient.

Bad Blood is certainly not a revolutionary downloadable content, nor it's able to change the minds of those who have already disliked the product by Ubisoft, but it's still a good DLC, with a far more charismatic protagonist than Aiden Pearce.

Valkyrie Eysium lives and dies by its fast paced combat system, and it's worth trying for that one alone. It's a distinctly low budget effort from Square Enix, but still a game with a soul, even if with a lot of room for improvements. If you like fast paced hack''n'slash games in the vein of the ones from Platinum Games, give this a try.

Mario Party Star Rush may be a turning point for the franchise, fastening the game mechanics and letting players enjoy its minigames even in short bursts. Just don't think you can play it alone: its single player is still relatively disappointing, but all the rest is well done.

Battletech is a good effort from the people at Harebrained Schemes, and the passion poured into this project is clearly visible from many little details. Still, the game is in need of some more polish, and the AI particularly desperately needs a patch or two. Buy it in any case if you love the original license, or everything mech - related as a whole.
