It’s closer to a ‘65’ for those of us that don’t care about or follow the TV series’ characters or TV plots, but it lacks the polish and proper balance (the Zeon side is heavily favored) to merit receiving the ‘70’ we were thinking of bestowing upon it.- PSX Nation

The absence of the 2003 line-up of F1 racers/teams, needless ‘dumbing down’ of the prequel’s simulation aspects, average-at-best audio and superior PS2 product (namely Infogrames/Atari’s “Grad Prix Challenge”) bring Career Challenge’s worth down to rental status instead of must-own.- PSX Nation

For wealthy collectors of "Scooby-Doo" memorabilia or very small children that have yet to be exposed to a "Crash Bandicoot"-caliber action/adventure on PSOne.- PSX Nation

A steep learning curve, buggy online mode, and lack of communication options between you and your allies make this title fall short in just about everything it set out to achieve.- PSX Nation

The atmosphere isn’t scary or dreadful enough to instill fear in players, and the brevity of the experience is only matched by its lack of originality.- PSX Nation

The bite-sized pace of the shrunken battlefields’ brawls robs DW’s gameplay of the urgency and hardcore struggle that characterized its console predecessors.- PSX Nation

The racing is very detailed but without being a hardcore fan it can come off a bit too repetitive.- PSX Nation

Long on fun and short on replay, Midway's CART Fury is good light hearted racing that brings something new to the world of CART.- PSX Nation

Not only is Seek and Destroy's ratio of gameplay miles-per-dollar better in Conspiracy's latest PS2 import ($10 worth), but the multiplayer options and light-hearted atmosphere don't take themselves the least bit seriously.- PSX Nation

Suffers from the duplicity of being designed as a mindless arcade shooter (the linear paths to solving a mission's objective being the biggest giveaway) while being curtailed by restrictions of control and ammunition limitations that seem designed for a simulation.- PSX Nation

Just as average, unremarkable and underwhelming as its predecessor where it counts: gameplay.- PSX Nation

An entertaining but sporadically inept first-person shooter whose shortcomings (crummy frame-rate, lackluster AI, etc.) are slightly outweighed by the things it does get right (intense firefights, great atmosphere, good sound, etc.).- PSX Nation

MegaMan X8's return-to-basics approach makes for predictable but reasonably entertaining gameplay antics IF you're a diehard fan of Capcom's series.- PSX Nation

The pinpoint difficulty of the proceedings also limits the game’s appeal to either small children that will play anything or hardcore “Crash” fans from the PSOne era.- PSX Nation

The characters and monotonous visuals are dull, uninteresting and cliché (especially lead character Mace Griffin). And the absence of any multiplayer options severely hampers Bounty Hunter’s replayability in the long run.- PSX Nation

If you already own “Crash Team Racing” for PSOne then don’t even bother to rent Crash Nitro Kart. Entire tracks (or large portions thereof) and the same quality graphics/controls/sounds from the 32-bit original have been shamelessly replicated on PS2 with the most minute and inconsequential of improvements.- PSX Nation

Nowhere near the king of the car combat genre (that'd be "TM Black" BTW), MM still manages to be decent-enough to be worth renting and beating together with a pal over a lazy summer weekend.- PSX Nation

The second coming of "Bushido Blade" this ain't, yet WOTS reveals considerable depth and replayability the longer one sticks around for its non-linear paths and consequence-laden scenarios.- PSX Nation

It needs a few more levels and a few multiplayer options to enter into the top tier of elite PS2 action games, but until then it's an all too brief affair worth playing but not owning (unless you're committed).- PSX Nation

If it were just a little less linear, a little bit longer and a little less unforgiving in some of its latter stumpers (lots of 'littles' for a game trying to compensate for its lack of... well, you know!)- PSX Nation

Good graphics, a short quest (by “RE” standards), mediocre music/sounds and a permanent sense that you’re playing an action game that’s trying to be a “House of the Dead”-type shooter (or is it a light-gun shooter that’s trying to be survival horror adventure?) diminish Dead Aim’s appeal as it moves along.- PSX Nation
