  1. For wealthy collectors of "Scooby-Doo" memorabilia or very small children that have yet to be exposed to a "Crash Bandicoot"-caliber action/adventure on PSOne.
  2. Targeted for kids and is not an extremely difficult game, but it does have a lot of levels to master which does give it a longer gamelife.

Talk about sloppy control and poor level design. [Jan 2002, p.147]

I made it fairly far through the game, and the gameplay is a cross of stealth, speed and platforming (so basically a cross of Mgs, Sonic and Crash Bandicoot all mashed up into one great dane dog shaped ball. it just works on so many levels). Really great gameplay and only takes up a small portion of your memory card. Expand

This game is the first video game i distinctly remember playing as a very young kid. I think i was like 3 or 4. This game, along with it's movie are both things i hold a good place in my heart... with that said, this game isn't good. I'll start out with some positives and say that the game does look decent for a ps1 game, the music is a bop surprisingly, and the game i do like the level themes they went with here. Having us go through Japan, Egypt, a city, the amusement park, and the artic circle to name a few. That's where my positives end however. The game doesn't control right at all, especially with Shaggy. It always feels like you are being pushed back when you are jumping. Scooby controls ok i would say though which is strange because they both play identically. The boss fights are either piss easy or unfairly frustrating. The final boss being the worst of it with it;s terrible final form of the Phantom Virus. The level design also is just crash bandicoot but remove all the complexity and challenge of it. The game just copies and pastes enemies in hallways a lot, and the platforms are the most basic platforming you can find. I do find that the game picks up though in the last few worlds in the game, but by that point the game is already almost over. So yeah, maybe a decent kid's game, but nothing special. If you are a huge Scooby fan, or have seen the movie and haven't played this, then you might get something out of it. However, there's better ps1 platformers out there for you. Expand
