L.A. Noire is unique. Strangely enough, however, it isn't unique in the most literal sense of the word, as half of it utilizes a familiar – even outdated – gameplay mechanic, while the other half pushes the envelope and pours a strong foundation for the future. Despite the inherent clash of old and new, we can't get enough of it.- PSX Extreme

But with a slew of little problems, a bunch of repetition, a campaign that isn't anything like a campaign (let's face it; this is a multiplayer game only), and lacking environmental variety, it's tough to recommend. There are other games out there.- PSX Extreme

A boatload of fast-paced fun, infused with an energy that almost seems insurmountable. This energy alone is worthy of your attention.- PSX Extreme

Seemingly inaccurate platforming, a lack of direction pertaining to progress and puzzles, mediocre AI, and sluggish pacing. There's a lot of fun to be had and the longevity is high but we have to tolerate more issues…drop that "group" mentality for the next one, Traveller's.- PSX Extreme

Like the Frankenstein's monster of every straight-up action game you've played in the past few years. It has all the basic parts and it's kind of sewn together properly, but the end result is a broken, half-retarded thing that's a little unsteady on its feet.- PSX Extreme

Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection is exactly what the long-time followers desire, even if the control shows its age and The After Years isn't the timeless classic FFIV will always be.- PSX Extreme

Mortal Kombat, sans a few irritating slip-ups, is exactly what the fans desire. Good control, the 2D winning formula, the great backdrops and settings, the huge roster (Kratos rules, by the way), the new strategy awarded by the super gauge, the many various modes; it all comes together in a very appealing package.- PSX Extreme

Perhaps the best way to describe this game is to say the campaign is worthy of no more than a 7, while the multiplayer is around an 8. But if you're more anal and susceptible to the problems I outlined in this review, you'll find the single-player element even more tiresome, and if you're one of those veteran fans I just mentioned, you may have other reservations.- PSX Extreme

It's accessible and sort of amusing for a little while, but the instant you realize the single-player element is extremely short and ultimately disappointing, you might regret the purchase.- PSX Extreme

StarDrone is one of those well-conceived, nicely produced downloadable games with a lot of simple flash and a ton of accessibility…at first, at least.- PSX Extreme

Moon Diver is at its best when playing with others, and all the positives really shine: the great effects and animations, the constant hack 'n slash adrenaline rush, and that addictive "let's-keep-going" element. But even then, things get way too repetitive, there isn't a ton of inspiration in regards to basic enemy design, and the overall repetitiveness of the entire production becomes painfully obvious.- PSX Extreme

Rango is a worthwhile experience for everyone who loved the movie. The length is sufficient, the presentation, gameplay, and atmosphere is all quite good, and the lighthearted style remains entertaining throughout.- PSX Extreme

The 3rd Birthday has a lot going for it, but it falls short of being a top-notch production due to significant control issues, a high level of frustration, and a main character that looks and sounds great, but doesn't contribute much.- PSX Extreme

A lot of great concepts…too many great concepts, in fact, and the charming exterior and good control can't save it. And what's this about no online multiplayer? Really?- PSX Extreme

It's a technical tour de force for portable productions, the cast of characters is satisfying, the combat can be mega-satisfying once you've wrapped your head around all the systems and mechanics, and there's a boatload of content.- PSX Extreme

It's a darn good package and one the die-hard fans will undoubtedly have to own. As for those who remain a little iffy, just bear in mind that aforementioned longevity and bang for your buck, as well as the prospect of traversing much prettier environments with a much prettier Lara.- PSX Extreme

The campaign is long and involved, the intensity, emotion and immersiveness continues to get better and better as time goes on, the technical achievement cannot be overstated, and the multiplayer is a rewarding bonus.- PSX Extreme

The control is beautiful (and I'm pretty sure the momentum physics have been ramped up), your opponent AI is intelligent and challenging at higher levels, the presentation and atmosphere is immersive, and the Career Mode never ceases to be entertaining.- PSX Extreme

It's one of those instances where if you go in with high expectations, you're bound to be left feeling a tad empty, but if you're more moderated in your anticipation, you'll be better off. The campaign is worth playing; there's no doubt about that...But there are extenuating circumstances…- PSX Extreme

The fighting is about as refined and diverse as it has ever been, the city of Kamurocho is more detailed and immersive, the story has plenty of highlights, and becoming immersed in urban Japanese culture has never been so entertaining. However, it's held back by one slightly disappointing fact: the series is starting to show its age.- PSX Extreme

The AI has gotten better but there are still obvious instances of stupidity, and while the visuals don't shine with unparalleled brightness, the detail and animations are markedly better.- PSX Extreme

The depth in terms of gameplay and control is here, and if you wish to fully immerse yourself in yet another top-quality BioWare adventure, you won't be disappointed. However, I just can't figure out the need for words like "streamlining" and "accessibility" when it comes to extraordinarily niche titles designed specifically for hardcore fans.- PSX Extreme

Includes most every feature, strategy, tactic, and gameplay element any die-hard fan could ask for. It's all here and really, I could go on writing and explaining for a very long time. But here's the point- the game attempts to put our nation's pastime at our fingertips, and it succeeds wonderfully.- PSX Extreme

The whole production is just exceedingly well done. Between online and Champion Mode, it's a legitimate Sports Game of the Year contender; it's just too bad that I couldn't quite get into the Legacy Mode.- PSX Extreme
