After twenty-six years in the dark, it is amazing to see Streets of Rage 4 finally come to fruition. Dotemu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games have delivered a great entry to the series, incorporating a fresh art style, brilliantly simple gameplay that fans will slip straight into and a soundtrack that authentically harks back to the classic soundtrack that made the series so memorable. It captures everything that made Streets of Rage great in the first place and doesn't mess with that formula, for the better.

MotoGP 20's promise of smarter AI hasn't really materialised but the handling model feels tough and rewarding to master. It's a little too tail happy and understanding braking requires plenty of practice. On the whole, it rides well which leads to some compelling time on track. I would've loved to have seen more imagination taken with the historical content and online modes. It's a package that, whilst good, can feel a little stale.

Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo is a surprisingly fun shoot 'em up with more depth than you'd expect for a game at this low price.

Blind Men is a short, easy platinum (or two) in the form of a boys' love visual novel. Being short it's not too deep or engrossing but for the price it'll probably satisfy those interested in the content or the trophies.

Rush Rover is a classy, well-considered twin-stick shooter with some good upgrading elements. It's short-lived and lacks clarity at times but is a cheap and fun way to fill an evening, if nothing more.

Disaster Report 4 is a shambles. But we love a lemon here at PSC and couldn't help but like it. It's almost so bad its good. We enjoyed ourselves despite the obvious shortfalls.

Null Drifter is a fun twin-stick shooter but is let down by very basic visuals and a short lifespan.

My Friend Pedro is every bit as fun to play as it looks. The game exudes finesse, rewarding players for risky manoeuvres, experimentation and styling on the multiple opponents you encounter. While some may bemoan the short five-hour campaign, others will find immense replay-ability thanks to high score mechanics and speedrunning sensibilities. Whichever side of the fence you sit, the game is fun and one that is designed to make you feel like a badass. What's not to like about that?

Dogurai is inspired by Game Boy action platformers in every way and does a good job of recreating both the presentation and the gameplay. It's short but very replayable and at a low price.

As cheap and cheerful as it is, Random Heroes: Gold Edition can feel a little slight and mindless at times. The level design takes a while to change up and, whilst enemies and weaponry can vary, you can settle on a favourite hero pretty quickly. Money gives you reasons to explore each nook but there does come a point where it doesn't matter so much. The pixel art is detailed but the geography of each level becomes familiar and a little stale as you move on. I did have fun but it felt fairly short-lived.

Below is an accomplished dungeon crawler with the very welcome addition of explorer mode. By no means perfect, but wonderfully atmospheric with a lovely Jim Guthrie soundtrack.

As an utterly original take on both the Dungeon Crawler and Pinball genre’s, Creature in the Well is a fascinating adventure with stark visuals and soundtrack to match. A few minor details such as the sparse story and repetition do not take away from what is a unique experience, but these aspects may leave you wanting more than what is on offer.

HyperParasite is a twin-stick shooter with plenty of variation, style and humour but some might find it a little frustrating due to its strict roguelike mechanics.

Convoy: A Tactical Roguelike offers strategic, Mad Max-style car combat with difficult, choice-based gameplay. The gamepad controls aren't perfect but the tactical pause saves any issues this might cause and delivers a replayable challenge.

It doesn't stray much from the formula but The Complex provides a few hours of disposable entertainment. The acting tends to mostly hold firm with only the minor players giving some iffy line reads. As passive as it is, the choices do offer something new to view. The wildly different outcomes are worth seeing, if you can deal with some of the rougher aspects.

Operencia: The Stolen Sun is a user friendly but still challenging first person, dungeon crawling RPG. The voice acting isn't the strongest and the puzzles might have you scratching your head but the overall experience is an enjoyable, slightly shorter, adventure.

UNO Ultimate Edition is a great value proposition for new players, though existing players should be aware that it’s the same game as came out in 2016 with all the DLC included. It’s UNO at the end of the day so you can’t really go too far wrong.

Rainbows, Toilets and Unicorns offers a unique take on the vertically scrolling shoot 'em up genre but spends its very short lifespan telling just one joke and the gameplay is a bit of a one trick pony too.

Truth be told, Moons of Madness got out of the blocks slowly, for me. The initial exploration struggled to hold my attention and the usual Lovecraftian story beats had started to wear me down. Thankfully, there is an execution on hand here to deliver more than just the usual blueprint of science leading to unknown consequences. The cast deliver great performances and the visuals look polished and flourish in spots. Once the pace picks up, it accelerates well to a satisfying conclusion. It's a good effort with some smart writing and puzzles that won't halt your progress too much.

While the original release in 1997 didn't quite live up to the 'classic' status that the Doom franchise is renowned for, the creative sparks that made it a unique entry are still very prevalent to this day. This is helped by a miraculous port that renovates the visuals, controls and speed of the ageing N64 edition. The only thing that Bethesda or Id Software couldn't help, is that the game is quite frustrating at times. Doom 64 is still one to play, if not just for the sake of more Doom, but also because it remains a true continuation to the series that make a commendable attempt at pushing the series into horror.

Thunder Paw has some interesting ideas but most of them are actually for the worse and the basic gameplay doesn't do enough to make up for it. You'll get a PS4 and Vita platinum out of it very quickly and it's cheap as we've come to expect from Ratalaika.

Id Software takes all of the elements that made the previous 2016 entry a great FPS and turned everything up to eleven. The action has never been faster, more violent or as fun to play as this. Doom Eternal is not just a great FPS or a standout sequel, It's a pinnacle of what the genre has to offer.

Dead or School is a well-done 2.5d hack and slash game set beneath a ruined Tokyo. Coincidentally topical in terms of a virus ravaging the population. Well worth playing at any rate.
