PGA Tour 06 addresses the main gripe with the previous portable entry, adds a number of new courses, and includes some of the recent changes found in the console version of the game.

The worst thing that can be said about Killzone: Liberation is that we want more of it. We would have liked a longer single-player experience and we would have liked online multiplayer, but the gameplay in the game is so well done that you would be doing yourself a disservice if you let that stop you from getting the game. Action games do not get much better on the PSP.

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is one of the most action-packed games of the year. If you’re looking for the next great team-based shooter, you can consider your search officially over. In a year with plenty of promising shooters, QUAKE Wars has cemented itself as a must-have.

Need for Speed: Shift is a compelling racing game that does an admirable job of balancing its simulation side with its arcade side. The combination of fun events, varied tracks and a solid racing engine make quite a convincing package.

Too many returning (though greatly enhanced) elements from last year’s version, combined with some ill-advised new additions (anything involving the obnoxious Tony Bruno!), conspire to bring Madden 2005 down a notch from the all-around perfection of the previous season.

Star Fox Command has great controls and introduces a strategic layer that's fairly interesting. However, the random feel of the story battles and the frantic multiplayer mode don't make the most of this game's solid foundation, which might cause nostalgic fans to long for the series' good old days.

A great dogfighting title. While it is light on the simulation stuff, its portrayal of aerial dogfighting is extremely fun and that is most important of all.

The PSP version of the game is a pretty dead-on conversion of the console version which is awesome to see.

It doesn’t take itself too seriously, gives you more weapons and zombies than you know what to do with, and it’s funny in that B-movie kind of a way. The gameplay is fast and exciting, too.

The game’s multiplayer mode adds a lot of replay value, though. This and the excellent presentation make Syphon Filter one of the best games on its series and one of the best games available on the PSP.

Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is an intense and powerful shooter.

The game addresses one of the chief concerns of the first Fable, its length.

A very solid game, just not the upgrade I expected from the console versions. Nonetheless, the game remains fun to play and offers a compelling experience.

If you can get a group of friends who don’t mind, the game becomes insanely fun. And those videos can later be used for blackmail.

Gun Showdown manages to improve on the original in many ways. You get more content (and thus correcting one of the main faults against the game), multiplayer and portable-friendly minigames. The underlying gameplay is still top-notch and the presentation is as well.

MLB 08: The Show easily wins the “most improved” award but it may very well be the best PS3 baseball game. It plays well, looks amazing, and really showcases the power of the PS3.

It doesn’t deviate far from the typical formula. It doesn’t really need to. With tight controls, impressive graphics, a multitude of arenas and vehicles, and online play, this game is easily recommendable.

The polished graphics, new missions and classes, and multiplayer mode are all icing on the cake for a game that is genuinely funny and provides a rather unique experience.

Metroid Prime: Hunters is excellent and shows that FPS can be well done on portables.

The game’s single-player mode is fantastic, effectively using the Doom 3 engine to make a game of its own. It really showcases the engine well and shows its versatility.

Dead or Alive Ultimate kicks the ass squarely. It is a fast-paced, beautiful fighting game with an excellent online mode to boot.
