Once you start you won’t be able to put down the controller until you’ve beaten it.
-
Unlike any title you've seen before, and will likely leave you breathless and craving more when the credits roll. [July 2004, p.110]

Psi-Ops can be a gruesome toy at times (and one that earned its M-rating), but it is delightful, and much more open-ended than its linear plot might suggest. With your many powers, and an environment full of objects that can be manipulated with Scryer's mind, there is so much to do in Psi-Ops that it's hard to put down.
-
For the most part, the game is your average military-themed third-person action adventure, complete with locked doors, navigation puzzles, and pattern-based boss battles against a variety of colorful foes. But Psi-Ops sets itself apart incredibly well with its series of well-implemented psychic abilities.
-
Even with a scant few missteps, Psi-Ops is quite a ride. From the slick controls, to the surprisingly intelligent enemies, you’ll be compelled to play through to the end.
-
Our favourite move isn't actually documented in the game's manual but if you do a little net search you'll find a way to force your foes to turn their rifles on themselves.
-
You'll need a high level of tolerance for boneheaded design choices, but there's plenty of fun to be had. Psi-Ops has all the right ideas, but it trips itself up in the execution.

Aug 22, 2023An above-average but mostly forgettable action game. What it does, it does it right.
