Planetary Annihilation looks and feels underwhelming. Interplanetary combat might seem fun on paper, but gameplay-wise it's an absolute chore. And that's just it, Planetary Annihilation is missing all the FUN which was present on Supreme Commander - a much better successor to Total Annihilation. [Oct 2014]

Apart from the three player co-op, there's not much to recommend about War in the North. Fighting the same enemies over and over again gets old fast, especially as they take way too much damage for the combat to feel satisfying. [Dec 2011]

The PS2 conversion of the puzzlish war game tries its best, but the game is just too big to conveniently fit inside a console. [July 05]

The game gets an A for effort, but unfortunately the same can't be said of the core gameplay mechanics, which are dull and repetitive. The storyline is engaging, but other than that there's not much to write home about. [Aug 2014]

Makes both comic book and film fans happy. There are no problems with presentation, but after a million fights you are willing to give peace a chance. [Sept. 05]

Takes a perfectly good game and spoils it with bad wiimote controls. The game is simply too fast for complicated wiimote-antics. Buy the GameCube-version, it's way better and works just fine on Wii. [Apr 2009]

Offers plenty of variety including army drills, beauty treatments and ghost busting. Still, the game lacks in depth and is quite forgettable once the novelty factor wears off. [Jan 2006]

Fret Nice's downfall is that it forces the player to repeat the same few levels far too many times. The game does have some fresh ideas and its art style is very charming, but the cons nevertheless outweigh the pros. Also, the guitar controls are horrible. [May 2010]

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix presents a nice and flexible engine that produces a beautiful sandbox-ish Hogwarts. However, the trite and mundane missions and general flaws turn a potentially entertaining game into average licence fodder. [Aug 2007]

What could've been a good sequel to a great RPG is shot down by several shortcomings including (but not limited to) out-of-date graphics, numerous flaws in the storytelling department and a dull and lifeless world. While Dawn works as a nostalgia trip for Symphonia fans, it just doesn't have much to offer to other players. [Jan 2010]

Tom Clancy’s Hawx has the looks but is also as shallow as flight combat games come. For some people the lack of realism is a complete turn-off, but for those who can simply take it for what it is – a shoot ’em up – it’s actually good fun. [Apr 2009]

An interesting combination of ancient mythology and modern scifi-stories, but ultimately it's chunky and tedious gameplay prevents it from becoming a significant represententative of the scifi-action-rpg-subgenre already dominated by Mass Effect. Which is a pity, for there was massive potential here. [Sept 2008]

Evoland is a frustrating affair. Its premise is great and it has potential to spare, but instead of an inspired retro journey all you get is a combination of lazy jokes, bland Zelda-esque gameplay and numbingly tedious JRPG battles. [June 2013]

Technically Avencast got everything right: fighting is fun, interface is functional and the game has beautiful graphics; especially the spell effects are great. But the game itself is too simple, it’s almost completely hack’n slash. The action gets repetitive pretty fast, storyline is horrible collection of clichees and most of the spells are unnecessary. Still, if you’re a huge Diablo, Nox, Sacred, etc. fan, you might find Avencast attractive. [Jan 2008]

If you ever played an fps game, you've seen almost everything that Fuse offers. Co-op for four players is a nice idea and in theory the futuristic weaponry offers you four different ways to play the game. Unfortunately the dull level design, generic enemies and the basic setting that has been seen at least thousand times make sure, that this summer shooter is quickly forgotten. [Aug 2013]

Suffers from the official license. The whole street racing culture just doesn't fit into official closed races, the feel is simply gone. There is no traffic, no cops, no free feeling of open road. There are also way, way too few tracks to choose from. The tuning, though quite fun, suffers from the same lack of variety. [Nov 2007]

Defiance is essentially a single player shooter, that has been retrofitted to an MMOFPS. The multiplayer component doesn't really add anything to the game, if you don't count some random back-up crews as such. [Aug 2013]

Hammer & Sickle should have been a great game, after all it is basically just a mod for the brilliant Silent Storm. Somehow everything has gone wrong. The difficulty level is insane, the constantly progressing time completely screws up the gameplay and technically it is worse than its smooth predecessor. [April 2006]

Fun for a while, but two measly levels is just too little, too late. Especially for a game that's practically made for DLC campaigns. Also the difficulty level is ramped up a bit too much on expert. Yes, expert should be hard, but Crash Course just makes things frustrating whereas the balance between dying a lot and having fun was spot on in the original game. [Nov 2010]

From Ashes offers interesting new lore for the fans, but little anything else. The only new mission is very short shooter, which hardly justifies the price. The new squadmate does have a lot of things to say during the gameplay, if you carry him with you to every mission. Still, From ashes is only worth getting if you really want to see everything Mass Effect universe has to offer. [Apr 2012]

The Lord of the Rings: Conquest has some good movielike moments but overall suffers from a boring and difficult single player mode and lousy controls on the PC. The multiplayer is decent enough if you're into epic but rather simple fantasy action. [Feb 2009]
