This sure ain't no Max Payne or Doom. The first Iranian commercial game is a noble effort in the field of FPS games, but it unfortunately falls short in almost every aspect. The best way to describe the game is mediocre. [June/July 2016]

The second season of Kinect Sports doesn't really offer anything original or inspired, it's just a collection of sports mini-games. Some of them are mildly entertaining (Golf), while others are over-simplified and boring (Tennis). All in all, Season Two is an extremely casual gaming experience that offers neither fresh ideas nor precise motion control. [Dec 2011]

A disappointing console cenversion for a fairly entertaining real-time strategy. The otherwise decent multiplatformer is gimped by massive framerate issues and technical problems. [May 2008]

The well-designed toys are the highlight of Disney’s Skylanders clone. As a children’s game the new Disney Infinity falls short when viewed from a Nordic cultural perspective. Here, Marvel doesn’t really hold a status as a major cultural icon among 7 year olds. [Dec 2014]

Beyond: Two Souls is a seriously flawed experiment in interactive storytelling. Is there a game to be found? This reviewer is still looking. [Oct 2013]

Beneath the Ashes is short, but well paced mini-larathon which offers nothing really new. Lara’s Shadow is a little bit interesting case, but messing with deadly blue liquid is really frustrating. There are also annoying level re-runs, but generally both adventures offers sturdy but brief Tomb Raider experience. [May 2009]

Haunted Hollow is too simple a strategy game to last longer than a just couple of games. The in-app purchase part is poorly designed, there is nothing I would need or want to buy. [June 2013]

A decent enough action-adventure in the vein of GTA and Crackdown. Spider-Man's web-slinging abilities are depicted very well. Go for the Xbox 360 version, the rest are not worth your time. [June 2007]

Star Fox Zero suffers from ambition without a cause. A fun, light space shooter has been crippled by a horrible implementation of gamepad controls. [May 2016]

The controls work well but otherwise the single player game is a waste of time. The multiplayer part of the game is decent however. It's very old fashioned but the Wiimote controls make it seem fresh for a while. Multiplayer games are large and mostly free of lag. Too bad there's no voice communication. [Apr 2008]

The Solus Project aims for old school gameplay, but the result is bland and forgettable. Its story, puzzles and occasional horror elements are clichéd, and survival aspects are both lackluster and easily overcome. Exploration of a new world quickly turns into dull routine. [Sept 2016]

Well, obviously this had to be done. Bioshock is a beautiful iShooter, but unfortunately the controls are absolutely horrible. Here we have one of the best FPS games on iPad. This tells a sad story of a genre that’s totally wrong for the platform. [Oct 2014]

No Man's Sky breaks the record in falling short of the hype – which is an incredible achievement in the category of super ambitious space games. The huge universe is a repetitive, lifeless and meaningless place, no amount of random generated creatures can change that. The most unforgivable fail is making the spaceship such a pain to fly, which makes exploring the vast universe simply a chore. However, at its best the game is epic and many of the issues should be easy to fix, so this might not be the end of the journey after all. [Sept 2016]

Il-2 Cliffs of Dover is full of hidden potential, but due to a disastrous amount of bugs, design decisions and totally unfinished features it remains well hidden. The project failed to deliver on the promises and was finally abandoned – but not by modders. And that, my friends, is why this could still become someone's finest hour. [Dec 2013]

The 3D elements do not gel well, and controlling Sonic feels awkward and hasty. Sudden deaths are far too common for a modern game. Old school (un)playability does not work this time. [Feb 2007]

Lazy DLC which doesn’t even deserve the hole number of the beast. Beastmen “story” campaign calls for a stronger storytelling: there is not even real conflict between Khazrak the One Eye and Boris Todbringer. They even live on the opposite corners of the map. [Sept 2016]

Krater has a lot of good things going for it: an original setting (post-apocalyptic Sweden!), a fresh take on ARPG leveling mechanics, a moody soundtrack… Sadly, the monotonous and boring combat makes playing it a chore. Kudos for Fatshark for actively patching their game, but only time will tell whether the potential will ever be fulfilled. [Aug 2012]

The worst of all of Dragon Age: Origins DLC. A short and uninspired trek through the final battle of the game from the baddie’s perspective doesn’t warrant any cheers as it fails to deliver any emotions or story into the field. [June 2010]

It seems that EA tries desperately to create new content and games for Sims players. You can see the desperation here. Pet Stories doesn’t offer anything new to the previous ones but the horrible “stories” which are so utterly stupid that the player feels ashamed playing them. Everything’s not bad though. Creating and training pet is quite okay and there’s a lot to do as in all Sims games. Still, I wouldn’t pay full price for this new... game. [Aug 2007]

Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir tries to hark back to the good old days of 80’s computer rpgs, but falls short in every aspect. The lack of story makes everything feel bland and the free-roaming world map is filled with annoying amounts of random encounters. [Jan 2009]
