An RPG that lacks originality but offers a neat package of nice and cute gameplay. [Mar 2007]

Il-2: Battle of Stalingrad boldly seeks to renew the genre by adding modern game design elements to the admittedly often sterile genre of flight simulators. Unfortunately not only does the bold attempt fail spectacularly, the developers also seem to have completely forgotten what made the original Il-2 a legend. The Rise of Flight legacy shows in the rather impressive visuals and physics modeling, but strangely a lot of its nice features didn't make the cut either and the โ€œsequelโ€ falls short of its predecessor in many ways. A really intriguing mixture of genres. There's a sandbox world to explore, lot's of first-person shooting and some role-playing, with space flight and combat thrown in to tie it all together. It's unfinished, badly written and at times not very fun, but there's nothing out there like it. [Oct 2011]

F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point has great action scenes, but none of them feel any different from what was seen in the original F.E.A.R. What really ruins the expansion is the lacklustre storyline, which basically gives you no answers. [Dec 2006]

A visually quirky throwback to retro Disney, but under the unique surface it is a frustrating, dull and entirely mediocre platformer. [Dec 2012]

Now with added unlockables and online play, Final Fight's simple but satisfying gameplay is as fun as ever. But surely Capcom could have coupled the classic beat 'em up with something better than the lacklustre Magic Sword? [June 2010]

Excellent atmosphere and great characters straight from the fantastic movie. The game itself is an average 3D action-adventure. [Sept. 05]

Decent sneak-and-shoot FPS. The Cold War theme is refreshing and the X-ray camera rocks. Unfortunately the game is lacking in the AI department and never builds enough tension to really pull you in. [Dec 2005]

Gears of War is the same hide'n'seek shooter, that we all saw in 2006. If you strip away all the technical awe, you'll have a predictable and quite boring 10 hour romp through grey and brown warzone. [Sept 2015]

Home offers an intriguing concept, but doesn't quite pull it off. The story isn't very satisfying and the choices game forces you to make rarely have meaningful consequences. It's an okay little horror experience, but it could've been much, much more. [Aug 2012]

Dreamfall Chapters is a mess of a game, with both story and gameplay segments varying wildly in quality. That said, it is still a must-play for all fans of the series. There are very few games that attempt to weave such an ambitious narrative. [Aug 2016]

A decent shoot 'em up. A greater amount of run-of-the-mill enemies would have been a better choice. There are also some laughable AI issues with the big enemies. [Apr 2007]

Hearts of Iron III has lot of potential but is crippled by bugs and flawed AI. The addon surely will fix many problems but are fans willing to sacrifice 20 buck for a patch? [June 2010]

Scifi epic รก la Japan is a relic from the 90's. Although the team's love for their game can be seen from all around, it isn't enough anymore. Bioware is breaking boundaries with their games, so when Star Ocean is compared to Mass Effect, the oriental star trek is unfortunately outdated. [Mar 2010]

Using Kinect to play a 2D beat 'em up is a great idea, but the novelty fades off after a couple of hours. Not that it takes much longer to finish the story mode, which is not quite enough for a retail game that costs 40 euros. [Dec 2011]

Luxuria Superbia is not a particularly deep or satisfying experience, but the idea of an abstract, yet whimsical sex game is superb. Even if it's not something you'll play for very long, it's worth it for the emotions and thoughts it will stir in you. [Feb 2014]
