These two small additions alone make all the difference, instead of tinkering with all the objects of the game, Capcom knew they had a good thing here and stuck with it, simply making a few small additions that would push the game along, if you chose to use them.
-
The presentation of the cabinets and different views are great, the gameplay is as fun as ever, and there’s tons of stuff to collect as you play through this title.
-
Boasting two faithfully reproduced arcade classics, Final Fight: Double Impact is a fantastic value and a must-buy for fans of old-school arcade fans.
-
Despite some minor rough edges, the spot-on emulation of both games makes this an easy recommendation for fans of either game.
-
Magic Sword is merely a peculiar bonus: another side-scroller from 1990 that takes a swing at the fantasy genre. Its button-bashing core contains a few RPG fragments, as you can collect protective shields and rescue imprisoned allies who then serve as a support character, and it's a decent, if limited affair.
-
Pelit (Finland)Now with added unlockables and online play, Final Fight's simple but satisfying gameplay is as fun as ever. But surely Capcom could have coupled the classic beat 'em up with something better than the lacklustre Magic Sword? [June 2010]
-
If I were giving a grade on presentation, the marks would be higher. But since I actually have to play through the games, I have to take a not-so-pleasant trip down memory lane. Oh look, some game didn't pick up after themselves, and I've stepped in it.
