Rise of the Tomb Raider is a solid action adventure with spectacular visuals and well-defined game mechanics. Sadly the same can't be said about the story. It seems like it was written by a six year-old Indiana Jones fan, who just got done reading The Da Vinci Code. [Dec 2015]

World of Warships follows in the footsteps of the massively successful World of Tanks in converting a slow-paced and complicated form of combat into an easy to approach and entertaining format. Huge ships and the oceanic environments they dwell in simply don't offer quite as much tactical maneuvering possibilities as you get driving tanks and the game doesn't manage the important balancing between skill and randomness quite as well as the Tank Game does, but the special appeal of oceanic titans firing massive broadsides at each other more than makes up for it and the game is certainly off to a promising start. In Heroes of the Storm you play as one of Blizzard's iconic characters from Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo. At first glance the game looks like a typical 5 vs 5 MOBA, but there are changes that differentiate it from its competitors. The matches are shorter, items have been replaced with talents and all maps have different side objectives. Overall, the changes have made the game more intense and varied. The main thing that I have issues with is the payment model. At first it seems fair and reasonable, but after a while you realize that you have to spend tons of money if you want to unlock all the characters or play the game for a long time. [Sept 2015]

Sid Meier's Starships takes a stab at space empire building with a light, turn-based tactical combat. It ends up too light though, with a very straightforward and simple strategic layer, and a decent but repetitive combat. It would have done well to take a step in the direction of classic Starfleet Command games to deepen the combat system. It's worst problem is though lack of feeling and chrome: you are not building your own eponymous Starships that you care about with the sterile and clinical technology system of the game. [Apr 2015]

Dark, violent, thought-provoking and powerful. Although satisfying, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is not the masterpiece its predecessor was. [Apr 2015]

Reborn is a promising start for the new entry in the Dreamfall saga. The story is as ambitious as it has always been in the series and Europolis is a gorgeous location to explore. Hopefully he remaining episodes will continue (and end!) the story in a satisfying way. [Dec 2014]

This is an entertaining, but quite linear piece of action adventure. Action is good, but the horror elements are a bit bland, since there's no time to build real tension. [March 2015]

This is how you do a remake. Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is as much a piece of art as it is a just a thoroughly fantastic puzzle platformer. [March 2015]

ALTeR is a tactical combat game with an interesting mixture of turn-based and RTS elements. It's a kind of cleverly modernized Battleship game. The story is boring, though. [March 2015]

This is more of an enhanced edition of Rome II than anything else, but it manages to mend the biggest problems of its predecessor. [March 2015]

This is a sublimely beautiful masterwork of presentation, but is sorely lacking in meaningful gameplay or compelling storytelling, and it's narrative is cut short all-too abruptly. It's a game that's cinematic in all the wrong ways. [March 2015]

Apotheon's visual style is absolutely gorgeous and the mythological elements are well integrated into both level and boss design. What keeps the game from ascending to Olympus is the somewhat flawed combat. [March 2015]

This is one of the few iGames out there that are actually made for gamers. It's also an premium game, so there's no F2P content to keep you from playing. On top of that, it's a bloody marvelous racing game. [March 2015]
