It’s a simple-to-play competitive game, but one with a lot of depth. I only had one real gripe with the game, and that is that it doesn’t have any type of AI modes. While that’s not really the ideal way to play the game, and it’s probably not as fun, the core gameplay itself is good enough for me to want to play the game even when my friends are unavailable.- PC Invasion

Although Rage 2 features top-notch close-quarters combat with a variety of enemies, it’s defined by its big boss battles define it. However, it doesn’t offer enough to maintain an entire open world game. The activities outside of shooting and story missions quickly grow stale, as does the world itself once you blaze a trail of destruction across it. Massive Entertainment have outdone themselves in crafting a sequel for the ages. They understood the shortcomings of the first game and doubled-down on what made fans stay for the long haul.
