    A stylish, very short retro shooter game that perfectly captures the spirit of the film.

    Just like back then, I see the flaws in Ghostbusters: The Video Game, but as a fan of the two cult movies, I don't care about them at all. Yes, there are many far better third person shooters, but in what other game can I use a positron collider to stop ghosts from spraying slime all over people? The shooter gameplay is fun, despite the partly inaccurate controls, and feels exactly the way you want it to feel. Moreover, the game is teeming with allusions and quotes, which put a blissful grin on the faces of the fans of the movies. But the dry humour is also perfectly fits in other respects - no matter if Ray is just obsessed again or Egon philosophises about one of his strange hobbies. In addition, there is a great atmosphere, varied enemy design and of course some iconic locations from the movies. Of course my fan heart beats faster. So I'm all the happier that everything works technically flawlessly in handheld mode and that I can now catch a few ghosts on the go.

    In the run-up to the test I actually had some concerns about the quality of Need for Speed: Heat. Its direct predecessors from Ghost Games didn't really convince me and also the game play event about a month ago left me with mixed feelings. But the finished game has become surprisingly entertaining. Sure, once again the story is not worth mentioning, the controls reminds of old arcade games and in terms of driving physics and damage model the makers didn't take realism quite so seriously. But if you don't mind that, or if you are looking for exactly that, you'll really enjoy Heat. Otherwise, the title offers everything a car's heart desires: extensive tuning options, action-packed chases and thrilling races - and all this in top graphics.

    Have you ever wanted to be the guy in a zombie movie who holds a scanner up to someone's face and gets to decide their fate? Then you might enjoy a few interesting hours playing Quarantine Zone. However, aside from the scanning mechanic, the game lacks complexity, variety, and challenge.

    A great story and lively characters combined with fun gameplay make Oddworld: Soulstorm a successful remake. But the checkpoints quickly become a chore, due to the extremely annoying crafting-system, which can make some passages irritatingly frustrating.

    At the end of the test, I had the impression that Firaxis wanted to quickly publish something to stand up to Microsoft's Gears Tactics. In my opinion, it didn't really work.

    While the story and graphics were convincing, the gameplay, boss design and enemy variety were not. Enotria isn't really bad, but it's not really good either, and is therefore somewhere in the middle of the crowded Souls genre.

    In terms of combat and atmosphere, Darktide is a triumph. A limited class system, missing endgame content and an overall lack of variety diminish what is, in fact, one of the best Warhammer 40K games ever made.

    I had a good time with The Maw. It is a first-class independent product with great production values and two adorable main characters. Of course, the level design and the overall challenge of the game are aiming primarily at casual players. But even if the game turns out to be simplistic at times, it still shines being a neat action adventure that is greatly suited for kids.

    Windjammers 2 is really good for what it is. If, like me, you can have fun with such small titles and don't always expect so much, you've come to the right place. There's no fuss or waiting around to get into a match. It only takes a few seconds from the start of the game to the first round. Despite this apparent simplicity, the gameplay convinces with enough depth. The nice optics including catchy character designs and the appropriate music are also to be positively emphasized. But what speaks most for Windjammers is their uniqueness. You don't see a sports game that goes in the direction of a fighting game and primarily relies on throwing Frisbees every day. I'm just hoping for a lot more content in the future.

    While a fun enough shooter in its own right, Gunslinger is in almost every way inferior to the similar Bulletstorm. Yet its new and unique approach to telling a story is certainly something I would like to see in a lot of other games.

    Kyn
    If you like games like Dungeon: Siege and Divinity: Original Sin, Kyn could be a nice choice to be played. The Viking-fantasy-setting is well designed, the combat-system is fast and tactical. The classless RPG-system allows flexible character progression and skill-selection. Some minor bugs and uncomfortable menus are annoying. Graphics are nice and sound is very atmospheric.

    In the past it was big and noisy games that inspired me. For quite some time now, it's surprisingly often the smaller ones. Games that take their time. Games that create moments that touch me in such a way that they lift me out of my soles. Games like What Remains of Edith Finch. The Bradwell Conspiracy would like to clearly hit this notch, but unfortunately the debut of A Brave Plan doesn't succeed. It lacks depth and courage, at the same time the game is struggling with too many problems. Nevertheless, The Bradwell Conspiracy has a charm that I can't deny - I don't want to deny! I just had a lot of fun immersing myself in the secrets of Bradwell, especially with the photo function and the great written and spoken Amber.

    Towaga: Among Shadows is simple, but fun. The controls are good, the artstyle is beautiful and it just feels nice to play. It’s a pity, then, that the story is over so soon and that some of the fights aren’t as good as the rest of the game.

    Team Sonic racing is a solid fun racer with some one of a kind gameplay with its team mechanics. But better don’t compare the game to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As long as you don’t own a Nintendo Switch, Team Sonic Racing is clearly one of the best fun racer games out there. But it lacks in diverse racing tracks and the audio isn’t the nicest.

    The new action-RPG takes place in the classic Dark-Eye-Setting. The story is one of the best features in the game. Fans of the franchise will experience much lore. Especially the voice-acting guarantees a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the gameplay itself and the overall presentation is not satisfying that much. Poor textures and lack of good animations comes along with a combat-system, that isn’t quite challenging.

    The Definitive Edition offers Stronghold in its purest, most beautiful and best form to date. Unfortunately, the remaster is only “good” and not the ultimate gaming experience promised.

    Godfall is not only fun to play, it has also a beautiful looking graphic. On top of that the combat system works amazing and is long term satisfying. Even after 15 hours of gameplay it’s still great to jump into a fight. Also technically Godfall is more than a solid game. Despite the lots of reflections and particle effects it runs very smoothly with over 100fps. The main problem of the action rpg is definitely the weak story and the generic level design. At the end also good features wear out, if the variety is missing completely.

    Rad
    Rad is a competently made rougelike. However, compered to other games like it, the gameplay is quite monotone and there‘s too little variety regarding the characters. It’s also also quite easy, leaving veterans of the genre feeling bored.
