For me, Black Ops 4 is the best Call of Duty in years. I must also say that the single player campaign I haven't missed a minute. The three successful online modes are clearly more important to me than a bombastic, but very short single player fun.

Spider-Man is one of the best superhero games of all time with some of the best and most satisfying movement-systems ever seen in an open world title. While most of the side stuff consists of your typical Ubisoft-style fetch-quests, this movement makes even those enjoyable. Throw on a very fluid and enjoyable combat system along with a well paced story and you've got yourself a game that hasn't lost much of its luster since releasing in 2018. The new PC post is very solid with a wide array of options, impressive raytracing and support for three different upscaling systems, enabling good performance across many configurations. The only downside is having to pay full price for it, although if you've never played Spider-Man, the PC version is worth the asking price.

Starfield delivers an exciting new universe with terrific design, fun quests and interesting characters, capturing almost everything whe love about Bethesda RPGs. It's big and ambitious and often times beautiful, but certainly not perfect: Space travel becomes a bit of a chore after a while, combat between Starships feels undercooked and exploring the huge amount of planets is way less rewarding than we hoped. But if you play it mostly like a Fallout 3 in space and don't expect a fully-fledged space simluator, you are in for a treat.

Black Ops is quite a pleasant surprise: On the one hand former second class developer Treyarch reaches the Infinity Ward's standard of gameplay quality and inventiveness for the first time. On the other hand Treyarch manages to set a course of their own through the unusual story and a ton of tributes to other masterpieces of action, be it movie or game. Plus Activision conceded the time and resources to Treyarch to aspire a really great game. And that's something you'll notice immediately. You'll recognize the passion and the effort that went into making this new episode. Black Ops delivers Call of Duty gaming at its best as well as a distinctly individual approach to the whole scenario. Infinity Ward will have to put their shoulders to the wheel to outplay Black Ops with the next CoD.

TMNT Shredder’s Revenge is a fantastic hommage to Turtles movies, cartoons, games and even toys. The beautiful art style and the phenomenal soundtrack really make one feel like playing a modern version of Turtles in Time with a lot of fresh ideas and improvements. The gameplay is smooth, the animations are great and combat is easy to learn but surprisingly deep for a brawler game. If you like the Turtles or the brawler genre, you will have lots of fun with the game. Especially in coop mode with up to six players. If you like the Turtles AND the brawler genre, you will simply love Shredder’s Revenge. This is the game, Turtles fans have been waiting for.

SWTOR: Bioware did it! Their first step into the "World of MMORPGS" is quite well done. Though the graphics in Star Wars: The Old Republic are not up-to-date and the game-mechanics are "business as usual", the game offers so much fun and exquisite entertainment. Especially the Story-Telling is awesome - every quest is told with good voice-actors. Nice Star-Wars-classes, funny PvP-arenas, nice space-opera-missions - definately a MMORPG with a very good start and so much potential for improvement in the further months/years.

It is rare that 70 hours go by like nothing, and yet I still do not want to part with the gamepad. Dark Souls 3 definitely manages to bring the series to an epic conclusion, but playing it relatively safe in the process. Other than Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 doesn’t temper with the formula. Not that many new elements get introduced and absolutely no risks are taken. But the great things within the game definitely outweigh such minor complaints. With its thought through level-architecture, great boss-fights, complex combat-system and amazing art design, Dark Souls 3 will satisfy fans of the franchise as well as newcomers.

The amount of original licences and the quality of the atmosphere inside the virtual stadiums fills every true fan's heart with joy. A brilliant mix of shooter and role-playing, filled with great characters, excellent design, lots of action and clever dialogue. It's a shame though that Bioware did not improve the inventory and skill system of the first game, but actually reduced it even more. I really wished there were more customization options, more ways to develop and gear up my characters. But all these are merely small points of criticism, since there is so much to feel and experience in this game. In terms of combat and exploration, this is by far the best game in the series. Bethesda created a compelling world, rich in detail and full of surprises. That being said, it's not necessarily a great roleplaying game: The dialogue system has been significantly dumbed down, skills are gone and there are only few quest decisions to speak of. Plus, the main story (which revolves around the shallow faction system) does not offer the kind of freedom we have come to expect from a Fallout game. Thus, it may not be the RPG that long-time Fallout fans have been hoping for. The overall experience, however, is still amazing.

Total War: Warhammer cuts out many features that fans of both franchises have come to expect. Personally, it doesn’t really bother me that sea-battles are now decided by the roll of a dice and sieges don’t include the entire city anymore, because the developers of Creative Assembly rather focused on more important elements. The enemy-AI behaves a lot more clever and battles have overall become way smoother. Obviously Total War: Warhammer never comes close to the complexity of a Civilization-game, but Warhammer’s real time battles definitely make up for that fact. What appears to be a bit of a weird decision by the developers though, is that you’re no longer able to paint your troops and cannot upgrade standard-units in any way or form.

All of that manages to entertain me for dozens of hours. The only complaints I have with the game are the subpar German voice acting, the somewhat confusing skill-tree and – at least for my taste – boss-fights, which lack a certain challenge. This War of Mine isn’t “fun” to play but took me on an emotional journey, like only a select few games ever managed.

If you love to laugh and shoot at the same time, Borderlands 2 is for you. The remarkable humor oozes through the whole 40 hour long game and is the glue that keeps the otherwise not-so innovative game together. Gearbox managed a pimped version of the original game but dared not to try something new.

Even more so than its haunting monster encounters on the ocean's spooky floor, it is the thrilling science-fiction story that makes SOMA a game that's hard to put down for horror fans.

Well aged, beautifully remastered - honorable round for a classic! One thing is clear: Anyone who didn't get along eleven years ago with a story full of politics, characters without any ruffle, and a combat system somewhere between turn-based and realtime, will not convert to The Zodiac Age either. But for those who - like me - had a lot of fun playing the PS2-Original then or just does not know the classic yet, is welcome to this remaster.

I’m a big fan of air-combat-classics like Strike Commander, Falcon and IL2-Sturmovik, so I really looked forward to HAWX. Sure, I’ve had my doubts. Can this genre revive itself, though hitting the stores for consoles with quite simple controls at the same time? Ubisoft delivers the answer: no problem! Sure, HAWX is everything else but a simulation, but this game never wanted to be one. HAWX comes with accessible, perfectly staged non-stop-action and a broad selection of air combat situations like bombing runs, dogfights, escorts and more. If the multiplayer-mode can keep up with the solo-experience: fasten seatbelts and stop smoking!

Reaper of Souls may not be the most original expansion, but it's definitely a good one. The Crusader is fun to play, the Mystic adds depth to the crafting system and Act V is beautifully designed. However, for its price tag we expected a little more content. But in the end it all comes down to treasure hunting and this is where Reaper of Souls really shines: The new adventure mode combined with the revamped loot system offers many satisfying hours of monster-bashing fun.

Finally! Alan Wake arrives on PC almost two years after it hit consoles. Was it worth the wait? Yes! Does its age hurt your eyes? No! Should you play it? Definitely! Alan Wake is one of the most creative and thrilling story-adventures we've seen so far – but you shouldn't buy it if you are expecting an action game.

Risen 2 transcends its shortcomings by boasting a wonderful living and breathing world and a refreshing new setting, masterfully crafted and executed. Although the combat is way too easy and the ending comes much too suddenly, Risen 2 is a great role-playing experience for any fan of open world games.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst feels better in many aspects and delivers much more content than its predecessor. It still has some issues like the combat system or frustrating climbing areas, but it is still an impressive argument for its unique and fresh concept.

A delightful open-world playground with terrific graphics, lots of activities and brilliant hacking gameplay. Poor plotting and the lack of a more courageous treatment of its up-to-date scenario keeps Watch Dogs from playing in the same league as Rockstar's masterpieces.

Grid Autosport is a very good racing-game, that should please most fans of the first Grid. Although it is far away from a simulation, it has an extremely authentic race-feeling. The only thing annoying is, that you have to play some races for multiple times, so the career-mode feels a little bit drawn-out.

After reviewing this game, I realized something important: we definitely need a new console-generation, because these multiplatform-titles for PS3 and Xbox 360 really drag down some otherwise graphically impressive games. Good though, that Sleeping Dogs looks visually way more impressive on PC. I wasn’t expecting Sleeping Dogs to be that much of a hit-game but after my time with it, I enjoyed myself quite a lot.

I had a lot of fun while playing Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. The main reason for that is definitely the great humor of the franchise. Seeing the brawls between the plants and the undead is just always funny. I also really like the class-selection and sticker-/booster-pack-system. Though not every aspect of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare was completely thought through. Team Fortress 2 – in direct comparison – has many similar strengths as Garden Warfare but comes with an enormous plus: Team Fortress 2 is free, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is not. But I still think that Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare will connect to its fan-base and with the slew of free updates coming to the game, long-term-motivation should be secured.

Easily the most recommendable adventure game in years. The production values are top-notch, the puzzles are fair and most of the characters are simply adorable. If only the story would keep up its suspense and finesse after the second chapter, I would consider this game to be an instant classic of the entire genre. Ah well, there is always hope for the sequel, right?

Call of Duty has lost its magic. Modern Warfare 3 is miles away from the epic campaign missions of the franchise. The new open combat missions are boring and we are missing the scripted action sequences of the prequels. After only four hours the story is completed, even for a Call of Duty that’s short. We still have the feeling, this game should be a DLC and not a sequel of MW2. [Campaign Review Score = 40]

In the first release of the episodic Hitman-game you got access to the prologue and the first story mission. The sandbox-design of the levels is great and offers tons of variations how to fulfill your contracts – just like in Blood Money. In addition you can play the live events (escalation, contracts, illusive targets). Though there are just two locations available within the first release, it can be very repetitive after some time. Gameplay is well done, but technical issues like glitches, minor bugs and performance drops can be frustrating.
