WRC 9 screeches back onto Nintendo Switch with a slightly improved physics model and more content, but the visuals are still lacking and the lack of analog controls make this already tough racer even more challenging.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Thus, this is basically an interactive form of the many PSAs that have come out over the years about the importance of taking care of the environment. While some may see this as being too “preachy,” I think Koral‘s way of handling this is actually rather beautiful. It wraps up this message in a neat little puzzle game that exudes a lot of character and can be enjoyed by both skilled and novice gamers. Even though it’s not heavy on content, it’s a relaxing experience that you can embed yourself in for a while and get lost in the world below that, as the game points out, we really don’t know all that much about.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Overall, I enjoyed my time with Townsmen. It is a fun game, a great time-waster, and it really made my brain work, which is always a plus. It looks and plays very well. I enjoyed getting my medieval game on and I am confident others will as well. The complicated controls and learning curve may turn newer players off, but if you enjoy strategy games, you will have a good time building and maintaining your realm in Townsmen.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Zombie is a perfect fit for the Switch. It’s something that feels more fun to experience on the go instead of playing at home. The game is easy to pick up but can be difficult if you’re trying to get all three stars. While not great, it’s an enjoyable way to kill some time. It’s a nice palette cleanser from all of the AAA games on the market at the moment. If you’re into short experiences and casual games that you can have fun with a few minutes at a time, I, Zombie is worth checking out.- Nintendo Enthusiast

There is a lot to like about InnerSpace, especially for fans of flight simulators. As already stated, the game looks and sounds great. There are numerous areas to explore, several vehicles to unlock, and a handful of really dynamic boss encounters. The real shame is that is not enough to really make InnerSpace fun to play. At best it feels like a chore and at worst you’ll want to snap your Switch in half. If you can grasp the flight controls and are looking for a nonlinear story games then InnerSpace is available now on the Nintendo Switch.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Other than that, the game is nice little package. It’s bursting with color and charm and the gameplay, while not new, is still pretty fun. While this definitely isn’t the kind of game that you’d be expecting to play on a home console, it’s still nice to have nonetheless. At only $5, Sunbreak Games’ semi-infinite runner should be a great addition to anyone looking for a fun, simple game for younger Wii U players.- Nintendo Enthusiast

My first dive into the game left a really sour taste in my mouth. There was a broken AI system that simply did not allow me to get gold in any of the races in order to unlock the rest of the characters. Most of them are generic in design, minus a few interesting ones with special attacks. I was really hard on the game for having a broken system. Even with the patch, I still can’t shake what I initially had played. I was simply hoping for a more enjoyable experience. It feels more like something that you would find on Early Access or a concept, not a full-fledged release.- Nintendo Enthusiast

For gamers who love the rhythm genre and want to experience every new thing it has to offer, they should play Lost in Harmony. They will appreciate the game’s experimentation, at the very least. (I did, anyway.) But maybe they should skip the Switch version and play it on a phone instead, the way it was clearly intended. In fact, maybe everyone would be better off just playing the game for free on a phone with touch controls.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Brakes Are For Losers is like a toy you find in a Happy Meal. A cheap distraction good for a few minutes of entertainment. It’s not meant to be played on its own. BAFL is reasonably fun, but a novelty at best.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Brief Battles has some interesting ideas that could have made for a solid platform fighter, but this one needed way more ironing out. Despite a few good times to be had, the game ultimately doesn’t come close to meeting the bar set by other great indie platform fighters. It definitely has its moments, like the rush of satisfaction that follows landing a ground pound from way high up, but your time is better spent with same-genre titles like TowerFall, Duck Game, and Retimed. Promised free updates may redeem this title down the line with better modes and more carefully crafted arenas, but for now, clunky menus and long load times make an obstacle out of even setting up Brief Battles, and excessive stage hazards, wonky controls, and trite objectives mean that the prize for navigating those menus isn’t worth it.- Nintendo Enthusiast

I wanted to like YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG a lot more than I did. There’s some rich creativity in its style, and the music is worth a listen even outside of playing. However, a lot of the fresh ideas with the battle system and Mind Dungeon simply don’t respect the player’s time. The Low Road seems like it would have been a better short animated film than a video game. The gameplay sections are annoying at worst and bland at best. The crude yet eye-catching animation works with the comedic tone, however, and the characters were fun to spend time with. Unfortunately, we don’t get enough time with them. Perhaps a rework with more phone call puzzles would have elevated it. Otherwise, there are better experiences to be had in the modern point-and-click genre.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Super Bomberman R is decent for a launch title on a system that is a little lacking in retail titles, but it has it’s issues. Fans of Bomberman and people who will use the local multiplayer option will get more enjoyment out of this title than the average person, who will probably wait for a price drop. It’s a great jumping in point for Switch fans before Sniper Elite 3 arrives later this year. The sniping is great, and the gruesome X-ray kill shots rarely get dull. The visuals may not be truly current-gen, but at a budget price and with a lot of content on offer, it’s forgivable. If you’re after a realistic World War II shooter, then this is your only choice. SpellKeeper is an OK puzzle game. The way the puzzles work is interesting and allows a lot of different solutions and fun challenges. The in-game visuals are perfectly serviceable, but the cutscenes look rough when displayed on a large TV. The music is inoffensive and isn’t annoying but neither is it at all memorable. If you’re after a cheap little puzzler that you can easily beat in a few hours, then this is the game for you. I have to confess I was impressed with how well the paint mechanic worked in Trailblazers. It really does feel more than just a gimmick. Some of the campaign challenges are a little unbalanced — one in particular — but they do help you figure out how to race as a team player. While I did enjoy the game, the more missions and challenges I completed, the more repetitive they felt even though they involved different tasks. I felt like less of a fighter pilot and more like an errand boy a quarter through the game because of every mission having a point A and a point B, and nothing to really break the cycle. With that being said, Galak-Z: Variant S is a beautiful game, I just wish it did not feel so repetitive in its gameplay.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Overall, Rip Them Off is a pretty unique take on the tower defense genre. While there aren't a ton of maps, there's plenty of room to revisit them to try to improve your scores. Further, the later maps are incredibly difficult, so you'll probably be playing them for a while. Thankfully, the game accounts for these factors and provides an effective way to tinker with your setups. Online matches felt surprisingly good with only the rare instances of stuttering or dropped matches. The Arcade mode seems like a bit of a missed opportunity, however, as it could have been a cool love letter to hardcore fans. There’s very little dialogue between characters, not even when winning a match, which is strange for a fighting game. Major battles are only made more difficult by fighting enemies with multiple health bars to whittle down. You don’t even get an ending. For a game about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the lackluster presentation is extremely glaring.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Haunted Dungeons: Hyakki Castle is a unique exploration RPG on Switch that doesn’t live up to its concept. I wanted to really love it, but the pacing is sluggish, the combat is lackluster, the party system needs some work, the HUD is distracting, there are annoying puzzles, and the gameplay is overwhelming. Although there are some good elements (audio, atmosphere, slightly creepy), it is a forgettable game that left me more frustrated than excited. RemiLore lays a decent groundwork in terms of gameplay and design, but it never really goes beyond that. Combat is simple and promising, but the lack of depth makes it hard to stay engaged with it for very long. The visuals, likewise, lack any kind of unique punch or distinct art style to make them stand out as anything other than generic. Whereas the original rewarded players for bringing friends, this version is frustrating and downright inconvenient if you want to enjoy it with others. It’s sad because Crystal Chronicles is still a fun game with a deep story and interesting mechanics, one which I truly wanted to enjoy again. Perhaps when we can meet in person, my old party can hang out and play through a couple of raids. Maybe meeting in person really is the only way this game can be fun. PAYDAY 2 on the Nintendo Switch is a very unique experience for the platform. The lack of voice chat hurts, and the game can be pretty repetitive at times in terms of what you do within the missions, but the game is undeniably fun, especially with friends. Rogue Trooper Redux isn’t the worst remaster to be released. The narrative is campy, the gameplay is interesting, and it’s great to see how it influenced other shooters that came after the 2006 original. While there are some innovations in the campaign, there’s no denying that for a remastered video game, there are a bunch of problems. The gameplay still feels rooted in 2006, despite some tweaks, the cover system which was once revolutionary is now a nuisance, and the graphics aren’t anything to rave about. With that being said, Switch owners interested in a game to waste a few hours with mindless fun will find enough to enjoy about Rogue Trooper Redux. Fans of the original game and the comic book series will have a lot of fun. Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash is a wonderful looking game with very little substance. The game is a hollow corpse when held up against the franchise’s history. I just don’t understand how a franchise hitting a console with so many opportunities such as the Wii U could have fallen so hard on its face.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Dr. Mario World is another solid entry in Nintendo’s mobile lineup. I was concerned that Dr. Mario World wouldn’t do enough to differentiate itself from the plethora of match-3 games on the market. However, its blend of classic Dr. Mario gameplay and new mechanics keeps things feeling fresh. I’ll certainly be playing this for a while to come. Maybe I’ll run into you on the battlefield!- Nintendo Enthusiast

Exile’s End is not a game you should avoid, but with the many quality games on eShop, it makes it hard to recommend. The game does a nice job to recreate the experience it was looking for, but failed at making what these games make fun: the interesting level design and challenge.- Nintendo Enthusiast

This is not something you will play for hours at a time. As a cheap, content-light package, it is most enjoyable in small doses. Still, Soccer Slammers definitely has a spot in any local multiplayer-oriented catalog. If you and your friends are looking for something immensely frantic and easy to pick up and play, then Soccer Slammers is a worthy addition to your library.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Beholder: Complete Edition is the kind of game that gets overshadowed by its theme and setting. The dire situations you are placed under with little hope attached gets exhausting and, frankly, depressing. Not all games are meant to represent having a happy-go-lucky time, but the experience of overcoming it should be palpable. That is unfortunately not the case here.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version presents an enjoyable and original story with excellent writing and vocal performances, adding up to a narrative that is both comedic and surprisingly heartfelt. A meaty but meaningfully varied campaign introduces fun locations and surprises for Marvel fans, and it’s backed up by a killer '80s soundtrack. Combat makes clever use of synergizing the team’s abilities as well. However, that combat doesn’t evolve enough throughout the story to maintain its appeal. And on Switch specifically, technical performance issues stemming from cloud streaming make this the worst version of the game to play.- Nintendo Enthusiast

If you’re into regularly hosting or attending parties then yes, 1-2-Switch is a game for you and you’ll get your money’s worth out of it. However if you’re thinking of picking this up to play with the family on weekends, you’ll find the game collecting dust fairly quick. The mini-games get old fast and the game gets exponentially less fun with less people. Top that off with its significant price point and you can be sure that 1-2-Switch will be filling up bargain bins within months.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Ultimately, whether you will enjoy Voxel Maker will come down to whether you like making cool artwork. The game offers a way to let you easily craft nifty 3D models and scenes. There’s nothing really noteworthy or great about it, but if you want to make some retro-style 3D art and share it on Miiverse, and think that is worth five bucks, then Voxel Maker is a place to do just that.- Nintendo Enthusiast

The best experiences in SkyScrappers will be against your friends, since it is a multiplayer game first and foremost. A decent game, but nothing groundbreaking, SkyScrappers is not among the eShop’s best local multiplayer games. It is par for the course, but the novelty wears thin after only a few rounds. The low price tag may make it worth the plunge for some, but most will unfortunately find that this is not worth the investment.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Stranded Sails – Explorers of the Cursed Sails is a game that’s perfect for portable play on the Nintendo Switch, a worthy gem in a sea of similar games worth the 15 or so hours it will take you to complete. It isn’t grindy and retains its focus while also understanding the importance of allowing you to meander with some fishing or farming.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Despite its shortcomings, Defunct is still a mostly enjoyable little game. Though, it’s hard to determine if it has any real lasting appeal. Given its short playtime, if you do go through the trouble of exploring every level to the absolute maximum, you may be able to squeeze a handful more hours out of it. But, there really isn’t much to come back to after that. I’d say this is a game better picked up on sale if it ever drops below the $10 mark. Defunct is a fun distraction, but it’s hard to consider it to be any more than that.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Unlike the Wii days, Sports Party stands mostly alone in its genre on Switch. But, there are still alternatives. Personally, I would check out Bandai Namco’s Go Vacation before this. If this title really speaks to you though, I would only give it consideration at $20 or less.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Overall, Gear.Club Unlimited is pretty much a missed opportunity. Eden Games took a second chance, but this may as well be a content update to the first game since virtually no real improvements have been made. This is, absurdly, a $60 title, vastly outclassed by similarly-priced games like Forza Horizon 4. Take a detour and wait for other racers like V-Rally 4 and GRID; this is just a tire blowout.- Nintendo Enthusiast

While it can never match up to RedLynx’s brilliant racer, this is very much a budget title. The challenges on each level offer you an interesting way into the game and force you to try new things. Physics are used pretty well, and although they can be a little finicky, they are consistent. The visuals work well enough without being spectacular. However, this is a tough game. At the time of writing this, only two people had gotten past the first area, and I was the only one to reach the third area and beyond. If you fancy some 2D skill-based racing, then this might be worth a bit of your cash and some of your time.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Despite the tone of this review, The LEGO Game 2 Videogame is not terrible. But even my 5-year-old son feels more at home in LEGO games like LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and even the recent LEGO The Incredibles. These games are imbued with a brick-ton of character that makes experiencing these LEGO-ized romps a blast. The heart of The LEGO Movie film series did not translate to The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame, unfortunately. The empty world, mundane gameplay, and cardboard cutout characters make this one a bit more difficult to enjoy. In Bricksburg, everything is meh.- Nintendo Enthusiast

RCTA isn’t a bad game, but the lack of any real challenge and overly-simplified design aspects may very well turn away season virtual park builders. As a result, I’m extremely hesitant to call this a simulator, as it feels far more like a casual game.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Ultimately, if you’re in the market for a classic adventure platformer, you can certainly do worse than Bitlogic. Though I enjoyed my time with the game, I’m in no rush to dive back in any time soon, especially after playing through three times. There’s enough there that will keep you interested for a playthrough or two at the very most, especially since the game is rather short.- Nintendo Enthusiast

There are plenty of solid mobile ports on Switch–see Riptide GP: Renegade and Astro Duel Deluxe–but Jumping Joe & Friends is not one of them. The local multiplayer is the game’s best feature, but ultimately the game is just way too bland. It is priced fairly, but I still have a very hard time recommending it. It may serve well as a temporary, kind-of-fun distraction for your kids, but even then, there are much better alternatives out there.- Nintendo Enthusiast
