Three Houses is probably the best Fire Emblem in a long, long time. Intelligent Systems tells a poignant, brutal story which takes a few hours to get to the point but ends up delivering in spades.

FIFA 11 is once again the best simulation around with small improvements here and there and the same freedom and perfect control over the players. The offline game modes and the atmosphere inside and outside the matches need many improvements tough.

Casey's Contraptions is a great puzzle game: it's user-friendly on the surface but it's also a big challenge for anyone who aims for the perfect score. It's a bit short on levels, but future updates and user-created stages will do the trick.

A competent port for a legendary game. Nier: Automata for Switch is the best way to live 2B's journey everywhere, knowing all of this can be done only by sacrificing resolution and framerate.

The remastered edition of Quake 2 is how every remastered edition should be: respectful of the original, inexpensive (even free for those who owned the original on Steam and GOG), yet at the same time filled with new content substantial enough to justify the return to the game even for those who know the title inside out. Nightdive Studios, in collaboration with Machinegames and id Software, has truly done an excellent job, confirming itself as one of the most suitable studios for such operations, to the extent that we go so far as to define Quake 2 as one of the best remasters ever. We hope that others take this as an example.

Kingdom Rush is an addictive Tower Defense for iPad, strictly based on strategy. There are no revolutions in the concept, but the full-strategic approach is a new way for the genre.

L.A. Noire is another win for Rockstar, an involving and compelling title that will set a new standard for how a story is told, both visually and gameplay wise. The game is not free from criticism, like some repetitive tasks and certain flaws inside the plot, but it easily lives up to the hype.

Okami HD on Switch is perhaps the best version: 1080p and locked 30 fps are balanced by portability and gyroscope controls, adding a new layer to Amaterasu's adventure.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is Hideo Kojima to the nth degree, it is a video game so immersed in the language and imagery that the creative is in love with that, at times, it is as if the author had taken over his own work. Configuring itself as a great "Death Stranding 2.0", it chooses to anchor itself to a structure and progression identical to those of the first chapter and then enhance every element of the gameplay, whether it is the design of the open world, the raw amount of options underlying the delivery system or the mechanics of the action combat. It is still an absolute unicum, an experience linked to a unique poetics of its kind that uses music and the power of images to unleash sensations that cannot be found in any other production. In this case, however, the narration, the construction of the world, the imagination and the general structure fail to move organically, opening up several cracks in the story of Sam Porter Bridges.

Horizon Forbidden West comes to PC with one of the best conversions in recent years: an extremely polished and careful work, which does not miss anything on the front of adjustments and support for the various upscaling technologies. All these elements combine to offer an extraordinary visual experience, substantially superior to its PS5 counterpart in terms of resolution at the same frame rate: a show of strength that cannot go unnoticed and will make you fall in love with PC gaming all over again.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing on iOS is a perfect porting of the game appeared on bigger consoles like Xbox 360 and PS3. All the contents are there and the controls are perfectly fitted for the iPhone/iPad, making this the best choice for a simil-Mario Kart on iOS.

Honolulu is beautiful, Yokohama feels like home, Dondake Island is irresistible, and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth is really a step away from being the best game of the Ryu Ga Gotoku Team. However, not all elements are organically integrated into the adventure, the plot initially struggles to find its place and the right pace, and although the combat system has improved, it is still not deep and manageable enough to support the entire duration of the adventure which, in the meantime, with Infinite Wealth, has significantly extended.

So you got some new, cool features: from Tactical Defending to Impact Engine, from a brand new career mode to Online Seasons. Maybe FIFA 12 is not the perfect soccer game, but it's damn close.

Resident Evil Requiem is a creature split in two. Within itself it preserves some of the finest moments the Resident Evil saga has ever put on display: it’s rich in detail, brimming with love for the genre, and outstanding at staging horror, building it room by room, corridor by corridor—zombie by zombie. Like no one else in the world of video games knows how to do it. This talent comes through most fully in the moments featuring Grace Ashcroft. The first half of Requiem is the culmination of a journey that began thirty years ago. On the other hand, when the ball passes to Leon Kennedy, it fails to find the same balance. The second half is sloppy—adequate at best—with action that shatters the equilibrium between tension and release. What is unforgivable is that it forgets everything good it built in the first part. There is very little beneath the dusty surface of nostalgia—only the bitterness of having squandered the chance to deliver a new modern classic, in the usual, futile attempt to please everyone.

Destiny 2: The Ultimate Form is an expansion that manages to carry on the tradition of the series by adding new content and significant improvements to the classic formula created by Bungie 10 years ago. The storyline is engaging and the gameplay continues to be solid and fun, thanks also to the new Prismatic class and the many fun guns. This is the ultimate form of Destiny 2, if you'll pardon the pun, and now Bungie will have to work hard to continue surprising players and evolving its formula.

Hammer of Thor is a great first entry in the Rimelands series. Thanks to its charming dice combat system and the articulated skill tree, it is without any doubt one of the most enjoyable RPGs on the App Store. However, the game greatly stumbles in its storytelling, boring and full of clichés, while the adventure is too much linear and there are very few secondary missions.
