With a storyline clocking in at three hours, Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos succeeds in embodying more elements of a larger game’s series of side quests than it does a worthwhile spinoff. While there is oftentimes a critical inconsistency in accounting for a price when reviewing a product, this title makes such ignorance impossible. Complaints that could usually be considered minor hiccups, such as fluctuating graphical fidelity, a lack of variety in content, and performance issues, instead resemble ugly burps that reflect a blatant disregard for the audience willing to spend forty US dollars on a series that has earned their trust. To that crowd, shining moments of straightforward gameplay and satisfying voice acting do exist between these outbursts, making it apparent that there are components worth salvaging here. For a deep sale, perhaps the most devout fans of the Neptunia series will find the silver lining of this underwhelming spinoff worth enduring. For me, there is no fuel left in this ride.

Siren's Rest DLC is a fantastic addition to the base game. If you have Game Pass, you can play the original as part of the subscription service. This additional content is both creepy and uncomfortable, yet wonderfully captivating. If you love the original, you'll adore this!

Frog Legs is the kind of game that feels like it was made on a dare—and maybe it was. It doesn’t aim to be polished, or consistent, or even stable. But what it lacks in structure, it makes up for in sheer chaotic ambition. It’s seven games duct-taped together, soaked in nostalgia, then lit on fire by a fart joke.

Blue Wednesday is a slow, sombre, and touching game about struggles, music, and growing up. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it was a refreshing change of pace.

If you love the weird and wonderful world of Atomfall, Wicked Isle is more of what the base game delivered, with new intriguing quests and a fantastic new location. Sadly though, this expansion plays it safe and doesn’t add enough to truly make it stand out alongside the wonderful original title. A lack of new additions, reused enemies and some terrible quest design bog the expansion down. There’s still the British charm, but I wanted more.

While Soul Stalker is undoubtedly flawed, its price point feels like a recognition of its imperfections. For less than the price of a fast food meal, the title provides enough familiar fun to frame itself as a worthwhile investment against a genre where every game is determined to move upwards and remain unprecedented in quality. I can see myself launching Soul Stalker for a few runs every once in a while, and when so many roguelikes exist, eternally vying for attention, commitment is one of the best compliments I can give such a game.

Whether you’re a fan of strategy games, a casual gamer looking for something fun and accessible, or simply seeking a fresh and quirky game to unwind with, Mini City: Mayhem is undoubtedly worth your time and attention.

In the end, Monster Train 2 is a ride that promises hellfire and havoc but mostly delivers a slot machine in disguise. Beneath the bold aesthetics, catchy animations, and endless streams of demonic jargon lies a game that seems more interested in flipping coins than rewarding planning or skill. Sure, there are moments when the cards line up, your units hold their ground, and the monster library gets a new dusty entry. Strategy might give you the illusion of control, but don’t be fooled, this train doesn’t run on tactics, it runs on dice rolls. Maybe that’s enough. Maybe the spectacle, the lore, and the familiar mechanics still hold some spark. But for newcomers like me, Monster Train 2 isn’t a calculated journey through the underworld.

While it may seem as though technical and design snags have trampled my former compliments towards Tainted Grail, that is far from the case. Even if the experience doesn’t measure up to its idolized peers in terms of pure content, presentation, or popularity, the game’s efforts in occupying a similar philosophy to all-time greats is an aspiration often avoided by smaller studios. Not only this, but the unique storytelling, tone, and writing of Tainted Grail invested me in ways that many RPG staples never have. Even if bugs bound me to a choppy, imperfect experience, I more often than not found myself lost in the world of Avalon and what it had to offer me. Above all else, rolling the credits left me excited to see what is next for Questline.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter on PS4/PS5 is a loving time capsule. It’s not a modern game in structure or control feel, but for fans of Star Wars lore, especially the prequel trilogy and The Mandalorian-style bounty hunting fantasy, it offers a compelling ride. The upgraded performance makes it the best way to experience the game today, and the budget price makes it a fair pick-up for curious newcomers and nostalgic fans alike.

It’s not for everyone. The content is undeniably triggering for some, and its gameplay is minimal. But that’s missing the point. Ratshaker isn’t about “fun” in a traditional sense. It’s an interactive short film, a psychological experiment, a crude catharsis. For the price of a coffee and less time than a sitcom episode, Ratshaker offers a one-of-a-kind experience that will stick with you long after the credits roll, whether you want it to or not.

NanoApostle is a perfect encapsulation of the struggles indie developers face in today’s market. Like other games, the developers have had to focus their main efforts into one area, to the detriment of the rest of the game. The movement and combat in this game are fantastic and will keep players hooked as they take on terrifying boss after boss. In conclusion, sadly, a story that is non existent and inconsistent presentation prevent this game really standing out amongst a sea of indie titles. There’s fun to be had, but at what cost?

Motocross has a solid history within video games, but MXGP 24: The Official Game falls short of the greats. Building up speed can never match the adrenaline expected when the player is, more often than not, interrupted in immersion-breaking ways. The competition can’t carry the same sort of rivalry found in sports when multiplayer options are scant and AI behaves a world away from holding a sense of realism. After a three-year absence, MXGP 24: The Official Game’s functions fine enough to let players cross the finish line, but no first-place victory validates what is flawed about this package.

If you’re a fan of action RPGs with a taste for mystery and don’t mind a bit of roughness around the edges, Empyreal might just be worth exploring. But for players expecting a polished, emotionally resonant journey with rogue-lite and looter mechanics, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

After a few missions, the novelty wears thin. The clunky controls, the repetitive grind, the constant rebuilding… it starts to feel more like a chore than a challenge. And in a world full of polished strategy games and tightly tuned shooters, going back to Block Fortress 2 just doesn’t make a lot of sense. It’s good. Not great. Not bad. Just good. And sometimes, good isn’t enough to earn a second playthrough.

In the era of debate of what is a remaster and what is a remake, Days Gone Remastered does exactly what the title says. New modes such as the horde assault add variety and difficulty and the great accessibility additions contribute to an already strong package. The visuals and audio were already brilliant but the improvements to these departments help solidify their greatness. The story remains exactly as before, warts and all and still is divisive to this day, but to me, it’s a great adventure that tries to tell an intimate story in a vast and daunting world. Hopefully one day, Sony will greenlight a sequel, but for now and to me, this remains Sony’s most underrated game. See you on the open road!

Trident's Tale is a fun, cheeky, and enjoyable pirate adventure. However, it lacks originality because of the well-trodden mechanics. If you can overlook that issue, you'll lose yourself in a vibrant world filled with colourful characters.

Ultimately, All in Abyss: Judge the Fake is a game that thrives on its concept more than its execution. It’s ambitious, stylish, and refreshingly different — but it can’t always live up to the narrative weight or mechanical depth it seems to promise. For those who enjoy poker and are looking for a fresh narrative twist on it, this could be a compelling, if uneven, experience. But players seeking emotional depth or a tightly designed tactical game may find its bluffs easier to read than intended.

Leila is a dreamy and strange story-driven puzzle adventure title. The subjects are odd and the puzzles misleading, but I adore the plot, the story, and the wonderful soundscape. Though it is great, a game-breaking bug undermines the polish.

Praising the game’s competency is difficult under the weight of its indifference towards anything but mimicry. It’s a title that more immediately identifies as a dime a dozen, uninspired app store experience more than anything else, one amongst many that are starting to populate platforms such as the Playstation Store, Steam, and the eShop. The dusty corners of these catalogs once fostered games capable of delivering on players’ faith that they might discover an overlooked gem. An overpopulation of undercooked experiences and titles drained of spirit has made a history of such hope, an especially harsh realization given how the niche audience for a series like Pilotwings genuinely yearns for a modern counterpart crafted with care. Pilot Sports is, unfortunately, not that game.
