Assassin's Creed Shadows succeeds in immersing us in a beautiful medieval Japan, full of activities and missions to be carried out with the character we prefer; the settings, the narrative/cinematic approach, and the stealth gameplay are its strengths, but it's a pity for its too weak connection to the franchise's meta-lore and a sometimes disorienting mission structure. Regardless, if you love the series, action RPGs, or Japanese settings, it is a title not to be missed.

Madden NFL 10 goes on with the slow but steady progress of the EA franchise: despite this edition isn't full of big news, the game remains must buy for every Football lover, and thanks to the extensive tutorials it could attract people who are interested but not familiar with this sport.

Rocksteady ends the Arkham trilogy with a real masterwork: a game full of dramatic turns of events, highly polished, with a varied gameplay and rich of things to do. It will be hard to be disappointed with it.

DOOM: The Dark Ages modernizes the series with flair, offering intense gameplay and sleek graphics. Despite a weak story and some repetition, it’s a compelling experience overall.

Vast and gorgeous environments full of highly varied missions together with an involving plot, brilliant characters and a deep and satisfying combat system make Dragon Age: Inquisition one of the best RPGs to date. Unmissable.

Obsidian delivers a multi-layered RPG, offering great freedom of choice to the player in a fascinating new world. Its only faults - a bit too little content and a modest technical production - lay in its medium-budget nature, but it's definitely a game to try for any RPG lover.

Capcom managed to deliver a successfully two-sided game: spectacular and accessible for casual gamers, deep and challenging for hardcore gamers.

Even if still lacking on the graphics side, F1 2016 marks a good step forward for the series thanks to the satisfying career mode, capable of making us feel like real drivers, while driving model, enemy AI and multiplayer support all stay at very good levels. Recommended for any Formula One lover.

Guitar Hero 5 confirms the overall good quality of the series: Neversoft successfully managed to improve and extend the game's interface, modes and "social" features, fully justifying the trailing number 5 in the title. Hogwarts Legacy embodies perfection for every fan of the Harry Potter saga. A must-have, must-play and must-live if you have ever imagined what it was like to receive the famous letter from Hogwarts. But even non-fans will find it a very enjoyable RPG experience, with very few bugs, majestic graphical detail and a well-balanced difficulty.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection isn't just a simple re-publishing of old games: it's an opera omnia that gives us a comprehensive and structured view on the past of the series and reminds us why those games are considered amongst of the best ones in their genre. Unluckily it's hindered by many problems in the multiplayer department, something that will surely be resolved but, at the time of writing, makes it simply unplayable online.

Sayonara Wild Hearts transcends the simple video game definition, becoming more of an abstract music experience, almost like a long and interactive electropop videoclip. Its great art design, high variety of gameplay styles and memorable original soundtrack only get partially offset by an overly low challenge level and some design problems, but it's undoubtedly one of the best indie and rhythm games of the last few years.

PES 2016 proved to be the best and more mature game in the franchise since may years, resulting to be highly enjoyable even by non PES fans. Anyway it still retains some historical problems like too few official licenses and ease of scoring a shoot from the distance.

Another great game from The Behemoth: a brilliant platform game with bright humor, great art and a very addictive gameplay. The easy and intuitive level editor is just icing on the cake.

Definitely the best MMA game around: deep, complex and satisfying, UFC Undisputed 3 improves THQ's series in almost every area, delivering us a must-have game for any ring sports lover. Our only complaint is about the still shaky net-code, an area in which Yuke's should focus all its efforts for the next game.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall is simply a must-have for any strategy games lover out there. Incredibly deep, varied and addictive, it masterfully mixes management and diplomacy traits with turn-based tactics. Definitely one of the best games of this kind for consoles.

The best pinball game around got even better with greater variety, a stronger physics simulation and better graphics. And the almost complete backward compatibility with tens of already released tables.

Red Faction: Guerrilla revealed to be a pleasant surprise: a very good game capable of dragging and enjoying the player, mainly but not only thanks to the exceptional dynamic destruction tech, and for the adrenalinic multiplayer. Too bad that a forgettable plot and a low longevity kill its aspirations: surely a good game, but could have been much more.

A Plague Tale: Requiem develops the strengths of the first chapter to the full, to create a cinematically cut, emotionally charged adventure with satisfying stealth mechanics, action, puzzles, memorable characters, heart-pounding sequences and lots and lots of rats.

A huge improvement on the Game Preview version PUBG confirms itself as the best Battle Royale game around, with very satisfying gameplay dynamics especially in team. It still needs a lot of optimization and polishing, but it definitely deserves a try.

An incredible narrative experience, with a great script and packed full of moving moments. And with a great artistic design and a flawless soundtrack choice, it's the game every story-driven games lover must play.

A funny and entertaining mix of different genres, spanning from third person action-shooter to RPG to crafting/building mechanics. It's already got lots of contents even if in early access, but it's a bit too heavy in the farming/grinding side, with players that often ignore the action for tens of minutes to go harvesting materials.

Trials Rising builds upon RedLynx' series strengths adding higher variety, satisfying multiplayer and the best track editor around. With its even more refined gameplay, it's suited both to the series veterans and newcomers, who will find in it dozens of hours of challenges and enjoyment.

Tunic doesn't disappoint. Maybe some combat system choices can be a bit perplexing, but they aren't able to ruin one of the most memorable, deep and mysterious indie experiences of the last years. Behind a cute look is in fact hidden a deep, varied and fascinating game, capable of revealing new aspects even many hours after the ending.

Visual Concepts managed to improve an already perfect game, adding a new captivating free roaming mode and further improving animations, players character and gameplay. A must-have not just for NBA fans, but for any sports games lover.
