In a dystopian future where human dramas mix to the search for a better life, State of Mind tells us the touching and surprises-filled tale of two fathers in search for the truth about their families. Great storytelling and brilliant low-poly environments are the foundation for a satisfying adventure game whose only downsides are its too inexpressive and stiff, but very well characterized, characters. Definitely suggested for lovers of adventure games and dramatic sci-fi/cyberpunk tales.

EA hit the mark in trying to renovate its football sim: graphics, gameplay, atmosphere and game modes are all in their best shape with the only exception of the Longshot mode, a bit too repetitive. If you skipped some Madden NFL games in the past in fear of the usual "more of the same", this one will definitely prove to be worth the buy.

No Man's Sky is a giant leap from the game's early days, and it comes on Xbox One in its best form, with lots of activities and variety. It's still got wide margins of improvement though, especially in the multiplayer and technical areas, but if there's something Hello Games proved so far, it's their strong commitment to improve the game post-launch.

An interesting concept capable of making us feel the real power of a super-being, but it lacks the structure of a proper game to support it. Its repetitive gameplay and lack of contents make it feel more like a tech demo rather than a full-blown game.

Dead Cells is a frantic and captivating side-scrolling action game, mixing elements from multiple genres and showcasing a great pixel-art design with fantastic animations and effects. Its procedurally generated levels might prove to be a bit too repetitive at times, but this is undoubtedly a game that'll keep lovers of metroidvania and action games entertained for many hours.

Sonic Mania Plus is the best recent evolution of SEGA's franchise, with great new features, a rock-solid gameplay and a very attractive retail version. The best Sonic is undoubtedly the classic one.

An hilarious game for lovers of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movies, with lots of references and officially licensed music. The gameplay might be a bit on the basic side, but it's definitely a suggested buy for lovers of the two Italian actors.

The Mooseman offers us a fascinating setting with an interesting art style, but its slow gameplay made of trial and error sections and scattered with too many texts to read make it a not so engaging experience. If you're interested in ancient folklore and would like to explore finno-ugric myths, it could still be a worthwhile buy.

A solid thriller game with a captivating story, great atmosphere and very good exploration, unluckily dragged down by an unchallenging gameplay and some technical and AI problems. Overall a definitely advised buy for all lovers of horror-thriller adventures, though.

Thanks to its interesting fruit-based power-up system and lots of contents (including local and online multiplayer modes), All-Star Fruit Racing shows up as one of the best kart racing games around even if being dragged down a bit by some smaller technical hiccups.

A fascinating retro-flavored mystery adventure, with great art design and atmosphere, but with an unsatisfying story and some overly obscure puzzles leading to frustration and repetitveness.

A very good remaster collection, but troubled by some flaws that make the three games even more frustrating than they were once. It still is an advised buy for lovers of platform games, though.

The Spectrum Retreat sports some very interesting and satisfying puzzles, but it fails in providing an intriguing story backdrop connecting them. Nonetheless, it's still one of the best first person puzzlers this gen, and it definitely deserves a go.

If you love cycling and you're used to the kind of team tactics needed in such races, Cyanide's new game will surely satisfy you. Don't expect a standard sports game though, as it's more akin to a tactical RPG/management game. On the downside, we get very forgettable graphics and improvable multiplayer modes.

Lumines Remastered shows that Mizuguchi's masterwork didn't age of a single day, still resulting in a challenging and captivating rhythm-puzzle experience. It still shows some downsides though, like the relatively long load times and lack of an online versus mode.

The Crew 2 is a two-sided experience: on one side we've got a lot of events with unique situations in the racer landscape and a huge open world, while on the other we've got a game lacking sense of challenge and progression, with shoddy characters and cut-scenes. Our hopes for the game reside in an hopefully strong post-launch support.

TT Games' new adventure ends up being a bit shorter than we'd have liked, and it looks like it's now targeting only the younger audience, offering little motivations for gorwn-up players other than that of playing it with their kids.

Super Bomberman R brings back the series' popular and addictive gameplay, with tons of contents and some new features. Lots of contents are blocked behind overly high coin amounts though, making even unlocking a single level or character a too lengthy grind.

A good action-RPG, with an absorbing story and a solid combat system. It lacks interesting side quests though, while showing a sub-par technical production. Lovers of the genre and vampire stories should definitely give it chance, however.

Tennis World Tour feels too incomplete and detached from a real tennis experience to be at least satisfying. A good Career structure and nice graphics aren't enough to counterbalance the bad gameplay and a lack of essential modes, like online support and Doubles.

MotoGP 18 feels almost like reboot for Milestone's series, thanks to a brand new engine and renewed driving model and play modes. It looks like the devs didn't have enough time to completely fulfill their vision though, and we're left with a good game but with wide margins for improvement.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon fully captures gameplay and feeling of the original Castlevanias, keeping many of their drawbacks too, though. It's still a very enjoyable game for the lovers of the classic games, and a nice diversion while waiting for Ritual of the Night.
