    There's a hazy quality to Valhalla Knights that ensures nothing ever become too vibrant or exciting; I guess that's what some people call style. I tend to call it boring.

    But the actual tennis is excellent and the various mini games are lots of fun, so if you absolutely love the Mario Tennis series and/or have a few friends that also own this game (because each player needs a copy), it's a decent purchase.

    Papa Pear Saga is a very different kind of game for the Saga brand. Without having to wrack one's brain over puzzles, it might appeal to those looking for a more relaxing experience. The control freaks out there might just find that lack of direction a frustration though.

    They story is good enough to be in a book and if it weren't for the long-winded dialog, I would rate this game higher. I think if people treat Hotel Dusk more as an interactive novel than an actual game, they'll be less likely to be disappointed.

    To be fair, Hell Yeah! Pocket Inferno isn't a bad game per se. The artwork sets it apart from the competition, and scoring three stars for each level will take a while. At the same time, there's little to distinguish the game from the numerous runners readily available, and we can't help but wish Sega would have just ported Wrath of the Dead Rabbit to iOS instead of publishing a companion title that for the most part is a mere shadow of its console counterpart. Worth $0.99, but let's face it, you've probably experienced a game like this before.

    I wish MX Vs. ATV Unleashed: On the Edge wasn't such a punishment in terms of its loading time and its lapse in autosaving. Otherwise, what we'd have here is racing gold struck yet again for the PSP, with its manic style and its tight controls wrapped around a decent (in the "we've seen it before" sense) presentation.

    Pocket Avenger isn't the worst zombie-killing game we've ever seen by a long shot, but the plain presentation and lack of tangible controls don't exactly make it the best of its kind either. As a free-to-play title though, it's worth having at least a quick blast with.

    We certainly had fun playing Rivals At War, and you really should see the battleground action for yourself to understand how short-changed mobile deck-building gamers have been over the last year or so. Whether it has enough meat to sustain itself in the long-term, is something that only time will tell.

    Pulse left us wanting more, and it remains to be seen whether Ciper Prime will deliver. While enjoyable, the game feels a bit unfinished, and there seems to be a ton of potential that the designers may or may not fulfill.

    The Tower SP is a good concept for a sim title, and the game is fun enough, for sim fans. It's moderate fun-factor shows that a sequel brought up to 2006's standards for depth and challenge would be excellent.

    If you're a fan of endless runners, Miner Problem is undoubtedly worth a shot. It's free-to-play and has enough content to take a few runs with. Just don't expect to stick with the game for too long before the whole thing crumbles apart.

    You may think of it as a castrated form of Tetris Attack, like I did initially, but the infectious qualities of the game will prove something: even though it's not nearly as timeless as some of your favorite puzzlers, this little animal-themed gem still has merit.

    Beetle Breaker isn't necessarily a bad game, but it's one weighed down by the heavy burden of its own free-to-play model, and some bothersome ads. It's worth a go, but a small flat fee would have squashed many of these bugs flat.

    Still, if you're looking for something a little out there that will stimulate your mind for a few hours, these mushrooms will give you quite a trip. Boing! Docomodake DS avoids most of the pratfalls that normally kill commercialized efforts, and that's worth a modest recommendation.

    Don't get us wrong. Saturday Morning RPG is a good game, just not a great one. We dig the old school references, the music is straight out of the 80s and the pixel art looks sweet on the iPad, but the trying combat and other problems bring the app down.

    With such limited play options the enjoyment becomes dependent on depth, and this is where Honeycomb Beat's greatest shortcoming comes to light: longevity. Puzzle mode is quite extensive, but the joy wears off quickly as things get harder and you often find yourself stumped.
