God of War: Ragnarok is an unforgettable title. I will remember every epic moment, and also every emotional sentence. Because the new adventure of Kratos and Atreus is not just another sequel in the videogame world; it is a work that has a clear idea of what it wants to tell, it gets it right in the way it does it and it will also move you as few games have done.

Elden Ring has, from now on, a place of honor in the pantheon of the best video games in history. From Software needed 13 years to refine to the last detail its vision of a genre that has influenced the industry like few studios before and give us a totally overwhelming title both for its content and for the sense that has every last object and pixel of the Lands Between.

Inscryption is a game that seeks to advance the medium, challenge the player and make him participate in something huge. This would be enough to consider it a great title, but on top of that it is brilliantly designed and the characters and story will not be easily forgotten

Horizon Forbidden West is the perfect evolution of the saga. It doesn't add many pieces to its gear, but the ones it does add are so subtle that they enhance the experience considerably. Guerrilla has built a world in which it is a pleasure to get lost thanks to its infinite possibilities. A universe that has its own personality and that comes for an Aloy that is even more courageous and dedicated to become a complete inspiration.

Cyberpunk 2077 has set the bar very high and yet we believe it will be a memorable experience for many of the players waiting for it. However, it may have come close to meeting even the highest of expectations. In any case, we are facing a formidable game that has had us playing even when we had already finished it in order to look for the many endings, to keep leveling or even to simply get to know the characters better.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is one of the games of the year. There are moments that will make you laugh, get involved with what's happening... And also cry. The combat adds layers in a tremendously effective way throughout the many hours of gameplay, while the exploration and pacing of the title never fail to take totally effective turns. Perhaps it could have risked a little more in a couple of moments, which would make it rise to the Olympus of J-RPGs, but it is still one of the best titles of this genre in recent years.

Halo Infinite is not a revolution in video games, but neither does it seek to. Its mission is to be a game of the highest level and update the Master Chief to bring it back to the forefront of relevance, and that is achieved with a cocktail of excellent gameplay, sensitivity to new trends in the industry and a huge affection for everything built by the saga to this day.

Metroid Dread is one of the games of the year. The waiting time after Fusion was worth it, and this sequel lives up to it. The title has great pacing, cool design, and plenty of mechanics that modernize Samus. This game serves to highlight two things: Samus Returns, and MercurySteam.

An RPG that proved that different games could be a huge success. Undertale manages to retain all the charm that made it special long ago, with a deep lore and a unique way of handling thing that will keep you playing until the end.

This game is every new-gen console's dream: an essential exclusive. Demon's Souls is a wonderful presentation for PlayStation 5, given that it honors a two generations in the past cult jewel and powers it with the new hardware possibilities.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet prove that the series has not rested on its laurels. It's the most groundbreaking game in the main saga since Black and White, and will allow you to play Pokémon in a different way to the formula that was already starting to show wear and tear. Technically it could (and should) be better, but its modeling is so good and so varied, that it doesn't prevent you from enjoying the experience even if you would have liked a step further in the graphics and animations.

Football Manager 22 is a spectacular title for soccer lovers and for fans of the saga. The new features fit perfectly, but it still has everything that has made it a world reference in terms of sports management videogames.

Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to the world of motor racing that will reach both lovers of speed, as well as those who simply want to have a few races. A section with a care and insane detail and sensations at the controls that make us feel the speed of going at 300km / h from the living room of our house. Polyphony Digital has given his work a practical development and adaptable to all audiences.

Resident Evil Village is superior to Resident Evil 7 in practically every aspect and this game makes Ethan Winters become one of the most important characters in the saga. Its classic horror atmosphere, its agility in the game and in the inventory and its simple puzzles make it a seamless experience that will delight all those who are fans of Resident Evil. It is the entry of this series that is the most distant from the other titles and for us it is an essential of this 2021.

Monster Hunter Rise has surprised us in many ways. After Monster Hunter World the bar was very high, but Capcom has once again surpassed itself by adding a much more dynamic combat system, more monsters and gigantic maps full of exploration. One of the Switch games of the year.

An outstanding adventure that is completely unique and offers the widest variety of activities for a two player coop game ever made. And above that tells a story that matters and is linked to the gameplay itself in a marvelous way. The only letdown of It Takes Two is not having someone to play it, cos' is an extraordinary experience.

Deathloop is one of the best works from Arkane Studios. An adventure that relies on trial and error, level repetition and pure emergent exploration to discover all the secrets of the loop and the story of Colt and Julianna. A PS5 must-have (right now) that proves Arkane always knows what it's doing.

A franchise that made history almost a decade ago, and a collection that everyone that enjoy great games must play. BioWare has made an excellent remaster that manages to retain the original esence of each game, while improving them. Maybe the first game shows its age, but the series deserves that you pay that toll.

Hades is a hellish road full of painful moments, full of satisfaction. That is to say, you will die and die a lot, but you will also learn, grow with Zagreo and overcome the expectations of the terrible Hades. Everything in this game is designed with exquisite taste, but you have to fulfill an indispensable requirement: that you enjoy roguelike tropes. That is to say, randomness, combat repetition, exacerbated difficulty and constant growth of your protagonist. If all this appeals to you, BEWARE, you're going to spend hundreds of hours glued to the controller with this little work of art.

It's a title that overflows with charisma and deals with some very complicated issues in a brilliant way. Perhaps we could have asked for more from a gameplay or combat point of view, but it's impossible not to have a smile on your face when you reach the credits.

Two essential games that you can relive with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves; or experience them for the first time if you missed them back in the day. Kirby and the Forgotten Land may be a slight step down from similar Nintendo Switch games like Super Mario Odyssey itself, but it's one of those offerings that will light up your eyes with how much fun it is. It's less open-ended and more straightforward than modern platformers, but that traditional feel, along with the versatility brought by the charismatic character's transmorphic power, fit the package perfectly.

An interesting mix of well-known details that manages to offer a familiar taste and yet be extremely fun. As you can imagine Monster Sanctuary doesn't have anything particularly new to offer, but it's a fun metroidvania with all kinds of pocket monsters that's also pretty deep.
