Intense, filled with verticality and combat styles, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is challenging and highly enjoyable, all while remaining demanding. It will please longtime fans and even win over new ones, but it's not likely to become mainstream.

Exoprimal is yet another attempt by Capcom to create a long-lasting online shooter. And while this is the game that comes closest to hitting the target, the lack of content and repetitiveness may deter players willing to invest time and money.

Oxenfree II is a sci-fi suspense narrative adventure with plenty of depth. Your choices determine the fate of all the characters, as well as multiple endings and other events. Despite excelling in the soundtrack and visual aspects, there is some inconsistency in frame rate and loading times — but that doesn't detract from the overall quality of the game in all other aspects.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is an intelligent puzzle game that brings considerable improvements compared to the Nintendo DS version, especially in the visuals. Unfortunately, Capcom fell short in providing additional content. With unappealing modes and narrative linearity, Ghost Trick offers fans only a few reasons to revisit or stay engaged.

Epic. It's as simple as that when it comes to Final Fantasy XVI. Narrative, graphics, game design, combat. It's a flawless experience for both newcomers and hardcore fans. Innovative but also true to the franchise's roots, it's for sure one of the main titles of a really stacked 2023 for gaming.

Crash Team Rumble is an extremely fun 4v4 multiplayer experience, with plenty of maps and heroes that the fans are definitely going to enjoy. It has one issue, though: it should be free-to-play, as most of these games are. It could be a huge hit if it was available without the price tag, but as it is now, it's probably going to be limited to some Crash lovers.

F1 23 brings back the excitement to the series after a joyless F1 22. The Braking Point sequel is a hit, and you can easily see the improvements both visually and in gameplay. These guys know how to do Formula 1 games, and it's nice to see them doing a great job again. It's a must-have for the fans.

Super Mega Baseball 4 is another fun entry to the series, that now has EA Sports behind it. It does have some minor issues, like the loading times in some menus and the pitching not being as easy as it should, but it brings fun back to baseball and has a really cool roster of sports legends for you to play with.

Diablo IV is more than just a good tale. It's an amazing RPG, with plenty of content for those that enjoy this kind of game and the franchise. There are so many possibilities of builds, classes, and skills... That you'll probably want to enter hell and never leave.

An essential revamp of the zombie gaming universe, Dead Island 2 packs blood, guts and powerful weapons into brutal gameplay. With many new mechanics and an inviting semi-open world, the game pleases for its fun, but fails to remain in the commonplace of cliches and catchphrases.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is the definitive experience in the franchise and packs dozens of hours of content into an all-new expansion. Powerful creatures, unique weapons, special abilities, and many interactions add up to a relatively accessible adventure, despite the insistence on a large amount of information.

One of the worst games of the year, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has many performance problems, bad technical quality and little inspiration. It’s far from the standards that the fans of the Tolkien universe are used to. A big mistake by Daedalic that even the delays weren't able to fix.

Star Wars JEDI: Survivor is already a classic. Maybe it’s the best Star Wars production of this new era in the franchise - ok, tied with The Mandalorian. Thrilling and challenging gameplay, great storytelling and a universe filled with amazing narratives, great characters and an unique setting. It’s a must have for anyone who loves a good adventure - being a Star Wars fan or not.

EA Sports PGA Tour is beautiful, fun and has plenty of game modes for you to try, both online and offline. But it can be a little tough for newcomers to the sports. All things considered, though, it’s a successful comeback from EA Sports’ golf series.

WWE 2K23 is an average game that does not show much improvement from the previous entry of the franchise. It is pretty fun and the fans will enjoy it, because it has a huge roster and many different ways to play with the same atmosphere of the WWE events. But it could have a better gameplay, improved visuals on the career mode and a MyTeam mode with better features.

In 2005, Resident Evil 4 set a new standard in the gaming industry. And now, almost 20 years later, it has become a technical masterpiece as well. The remake is even better than we thought it would be - the best one in the series by far. The new Resident Evil 4 gives us a perfect balance between action, survival horror and jump scares. It's definitely one of the early contenders to the 2023 GOTY Awards.

Kayak VR: Mirage is beautiful. A visually stunning experience that showcases how immersive the PlayStation VR2 can be. It's so good that the only issue is that it's too short. And also the competitive gameplay is really tough to master, but the free roam around the scenarios is one of the best virtual reality contents that are available right now.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is much more than a soulslike. It’s full of action and epic boss fights, with a fast and fun gameplay, making it a dynamic experience with a really cool Chinese setting. The best part about it is that it can be satisfying to both the hardcore souls fans and also to newcomers. Team Ninja did it again. Authenticity, new ideas and a fresh formula to the genre.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is a wonderful mix of Japanese culture and Yakuza gameplay. With great characters, story and narrative, it makes you want to play more and more. And even though there are some technical difficulties, it provides enough content and fun to become one of the best entries in the franchise. It could have better visuals, but it's still a no-brainer for those who love this kind of game.

OddBallers should be a free-to-play game. It could be a tough competition to Fall Guys, for example. It's fun approach to dodgeball is great, the gameplay is awesome and the local multiplayer option is amazing. But, probably because Ubisoft decided to charge for it, there aren't many players for you to find online matches, which makes the game fall short of reaching it's potential.
