Shogun 2 is like a melting pot for all the ideas, gameplay and concepts we've seen in the previous games of the Total War series. Its pillars are quite similar to Empire's, but this game has improvements in many areas, and the setting is so charming, that it feels like something unique.- Meristation

Atlus' latest game for PlayStation 2 is with no doubt a masterpiece for this console. It takes the genre far away from what we're used to seeing nowadays. It's not the best JRPG so far, though, but it has all it takes to become an instant classic. If you're willing to enjoy a never-ending game with a immersive story and a lot of characters to deal with, do not hesitate, this is your best choice.- Meristation

Nintendo teams up again with MercurySteam to bring us the first unreleased adventure of Samus Aran in side scrolling (remakes aside) since the premiere of Metroid Fusion in 2002. The pressure was not little, but Metroid Dread is up to the task. For the control, which lets us handle the bounty hunter in her most agile and precise version; by the design, which branches and extends to offer hours of exploration without taking us by the hand; and for the selection of bosses, who take advantage of the best combat of the saga in its 2D aspect. The robots E.M.M.I. They may test the patience of some players, but they create situations of genuine tension and development doses them enough. So fans of Metroidvania are in luck: Metroid Dread lives up to the saga that popularized this genre in the first place. Now we only have to ask that we don't have to wait another 19 years for the next one.- Meristation

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the best entry of the series so far, but it is not the ultimate Animal Crossing yet. There are some minor flaws, but nothing really noticeable. Its quality of life details, the daily routine of grabbing some fruit, chatting to your neighbors or looking for surprises, plus the very new mechanics are so delightful that we can only say good things about one of the most rewarding Nintendo experiences yet.- Meristation

Nintendo and Treasure fully reached their goal in the making of a better and longer action adventure - Sin & Punishment 2: Successor to the Sky's one of the most beautiful games that you'll find on the Wii console. Good graphics, new and improved battle system, engaging plot... SEGA has made, once again, a superb title that moves away from some of the conventions of the franchise (such as the experience gathering and progression system, the possibility to save anywhere...) but keeps the essence of what makes Yakuza, Yakuza.- Meristation

Activision creates the Guitar Hero for disc-jockeys with DJ Hero. With impressive music themes, a great and easy-to-use controller, and paying attention to every little aspect, we find a videogame that is a starting point for a whole new series; with this game, club culture is in an even better position than with the classic Beatmania.- Meristation

It has taken 31 years for Ron Gilbert to give us a new Monkey Island at the height of the saga. And the wait has been worth it. Return To Monkey Island is one of the best modern graphic adventures in years, and only a predictable story and a lack of spark in some characters take it away from the heights of the first two installments. An adventure full of humor and great puzzles.- Meristation

Mario Tennis Aces is the best entry in the series since the GBA title. Its gameplay mechanics are almost perfect as the game feels so smooth in each one of the game surfaces; furthermore, the adventure mode is like a perfect tutorial to canalize the special moves. Beautiful and fun, its only fault is the lack of single player content.- Meristation
