One of the best 2D platform games in the last years. Varied game, full of possibilities and long. Donkey Kong Country Returns has a polished gameplay and brilliant artistic designs in the return for the most famous virtual monkey, now in a great hand-held version.

Rockstar approaches the darkest side of nightlife, telling a story of loyalty in a world where everybody has a price. It contains about 12 hours of intense main missions, tons of extra content, including club management, drug wars, cage fights and hitting on girls. Not to mention helicopters, parachutes, more powerful weapons, multiplayer action and an outstanding soundtrack in this masterpiece of how to release episodic content.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is more than a remake. Fast and deep new combat system, great RPG elements and a piece of art in terms of visuals. A new must have for all action game fans with engaging story and characters.

Gameplay-wise, it's essentially the same game; that is, the best online FPS, an exciting and frantic experience. It offers several game modes, new weapons and balances the perks. Also, the competitive and the cooperative experience in Spec Ops and Survival has been greatly improved. And it has the best campaign yet in a Modern Warfare game. Another headshot from Infinity Ward.

Sports Interactive created the greatest football manager yet. Huge, with an incredible number of leagues from all around the world, complex but also really intuitive, and with the added feature of 3D matches where we can watch our team in real time. Just a couple of technical issues keep the game away from being nearly perfect.

Live to ride, ride to live. Lost & Damned is finally out with a bunch of new goodies that'll take the DLCs to a new level compared to what we've seen so far on this generation of consoles. Johny Klebitz is a very interesting character that resembles the style of Niko Bellic --not much talking but definitely a lot of action in a complete and fully new GTA experience. New multiplayer modes, weapons, primary and secondary missions and hours of joy in a new benchmark for the DLC.

Devil May Cry 5 is one of the most stylish, varied and solid hack and slash games in recent times. Dante returns greater than ever, and Nero asserts his rights as cool and convincing demon hunter. Also, this could be the best performance of the RE Engine so far.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is the best game of the Dark Knight never created. Exceptional treatment of characters, magnificent script, excellent graphics... Every one of the elements overflows quality. Special mention for the asylum, a frightful and dark scene that will surprise us throughout the adventure.

Bastion's an outstading Action-RPG adventure in which we assume the role of a boy named The Kid. There's plenty to do here: customizing weapons and stuff is fun, but nevertheless, its most interesting feature its Bastion's storytelling. A must-have for the XBLA collection.

It's quite incredible when we find out that an original classic is not only remade with an impressive taste, but also that it's one of the best games on the Wii console so far. There's a mixture between graphics, gameplay and funny situations that makes the game almost impossible for anyone to stop playing it. It's a must-have if you like sports, and if you don't, you still have plenty of things to find with this one.

This remake of Resident Evil 4 is an homage to a classic, very respectful with it (maybe a bit too much respectful). It´s a terrific action game, but we miss some of the braveness Capcom had for the Resident Evil 2 remake.

As outstading as it can be, Takahashi's latest work is yet his greatest. Xenoblade Chronicles is the best JRPG that we've seen this year, and we could also say in this so-called next-gen.

Human Revolution is a superb refinement of the design ideas of Deus Ex. It's not so groundbreaking, but it compensates for it with an excellent taste for identifying the best elements of the Ion Storm classic and improving them, mixing in some great ideas of their own, like the use of the third person camera for infiltration and cover. A great sense of freedom, a compelling story, fantastic visual design and a terrific demonstration of excellence make Eidos Montreal a force to be reckoned with in the industry.

Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice is a unique and special proposal whose core is in the treatment of psychosis and its masterful recreation. Set in the Viking era with interesting mythological stories and legends. The graphics are more than remarkable and the sound effects and music are excellent, recreating the voices that the protagonist listens to in his head. Playability is based on the combination of puzzles based on illusions and perspective, in addition to various challenging combat sequences that will not make things easy for us. It's not a game for everyone, but it will please and amaze those willing to live a different story and to delve into the deepest darkness that can harbor a sick mind.

It might seem that Alan Wake is essentially the same game that was released on Xbox 360 two years ago. Nothing could be further from the truth. Remedy has worked hard to adapt the psychological thriller to a platform that should never have waited so long. Better graphics, 3D support, and additional content including DLC. The only excuse for not buying Alan Wake for PC is that you already got bored of it on console. Even if so... you should give it a try.

Mario Tennis Aces is the best entry in the series since the GBA title. Its gameplay mechanics are almost perfect as the game feels so smooth in each one of the game surfaces; furthermore, the adventure mode is like a perfect tutorial to canalize the special moves. Beautiful and fun, its only fault is the lack of single player content.
