The Last Guardian is a blast from the past. From when Fumita Ueda marveled us with the relationship between Ico and Yorda, or the fights against the colossi. Trico is his new achievement and it lives up to his reputation. Some technical issues muddle the work, but at least it's one with a lot of heart.

Uncharted 3 is the seal to one of the best franchises of this generation. Packed with intense action scenes, as usual, the script is the most exciting we've seen in the series so far. The superb graphics allow the game to show incredibly recreated locations such as the desert of Arabia. The multiplayer is much improved, becoming a real alternative to the main game. The only problem? Not as good and surprising as the second game, and a slow beginning.

The closer camera, the new controls and the revamped progression system, with gradual acquisition of upgrades for the onions, our astronaut and his canine companion, make for another kind of adventure. A more relaxed and accessible one, but also one that still preserves that Nintendo touch. Not always easy to put into words, but evident as soon as you pick up the controller.

Despite some heavy patriotic messages that may sometimes distract the narrative, killing nazis is as fun as ever. Wolfenstein II expands over his predecessor with a rampage of old-school brutality, dual-wielding ass-kicking kills that makes it as one of the finest single player shooters of the recent days and a truly joyful experience. Highly recommended.

Winter of the Melodias is the best WiiWare title so far. With an outstanding graphic environment and an improved gameplay mechanic, there's nothing much to say other than to recommend the game if you're a Wii / WiiWare user.

While it keeps the same gameplay modes as the original, the changes made due to the adaptation the the Vietnam war, sometimes make it feel like a new game more than an add-on, seeing the price.

While not perfect, The Old Republic is probably the most polished MMO on the day of release. EA, LucasArts and Bioware's combined efforts brings us the best of the Star Wars universe and the golden dream of every fan of the saga. Jedi or Sith, this game blasts your brain away.

It took a while, but Blizzard has once again proven why it is the king of MMORPGs. The War Within is a combination of good decisions, variety and fun mixed with a great story and new playable content.

Halo 5 Guardians is a great new iteration in the Halo franchise. Frantic and intense gunplay against a large number of enemies, though it could be better in vehicles missions. 343i's game shines with the new and great Warzone mode and balanced and intense Arena multiplayer.

After the success of Fire Emblem Awakening, Fates takes it as a base to build its new world but trying to keep old fans on board too. It offers a better plot and three different experiences tailored to veterans and newcomers. Sadly it fails to bring many improvements in gameplay (except for the addition of more interactive scenarios and the unit combination) and graphics, but in exchange adds the massive my castle function, including its multiplayer functions and online mode. It's disappointing that the good end is exclusive to the downloadable "Revelations" path, though.

The virtues of the title, to which they add a great final stretch or certain extra challenges that complement the game as a whole (here some ideas could have been exploited further), end up being much greater than these setbacks.

After two months of waiting, Mirror's Edge has come to the PC. This version is identical to the consoles, but with a few changes to make it more astonishing. The use of the NVIDIA PhysX engine makes the game more realistic and the graphics are smoother thanks to the use of AA filter. One of the most innovative game of 2008 is now even better in 2009.

Street Fighter 6 for Switch 2 is everything a fan of the series could hope for, now also in handheld format and with all the extras released so far. The game looks spectacular, especially in handheld mode, although some visual adjustments are noticeable that, ultimately, don't affect the experience.

A nordic-esque fable narrated with a feeling of peace and sadness, Brothers A Tale of Two Sons is just the kind of game a fan of Starbreeze's last titles should avoid. The story of two brothers and their journey will take us on a ride similar to other jewels like ICO or Journey. A ride that maybe has a very peculiar use of the pad -simultaneously 1 player cooperative-, but where we can interact with two characters to a level never done before, in a journey of search that requires us to accept its rules and let us go into the experience by the hand.

Following the old motto "if it's not broken, don't fix it", Gears of War 2 evolves upon its predecessor expanding the scope, size, possibilities and much more... this new title simply delivers. Clearly not a huge leap in terms of innovation, yet it is Microsoft's best bet and a sure winning title for this Christmas. GoW 2 is as good as a third person shooter can be today and a new benchmark in the genre. Highly recommended.

Empire Total War is one of the greatest strategy games ever. A world full of life, with many factions and possibilities, in the chaos of the XVIII century. An excellent game, nearly a masterpiece, that only lacks better visuals to achieve higher goals. Highly recommended to fans of the genre.

Mark of the Ninja is a superb take on what a stealth game should be in 2D, offering some lessons to the veterans of the genre. Its visuals and animations reinforce the idea of being a ninja, creating an unmatched spectacle of lights and shadows, while its gameplay offers a growing sense of freedom that rewards imaginative and experimental players. A great triumph for Klei and their best game by far.

Mario Tennis Aces is the best entry in the series since the GBA title. Its gameplay mechanics are almost perfect as the game feels so smooth in each one of the game surfaces; furthermore, the adventure mode is like a perfect tutorial to canalize the special moves. Beautiful and fun, its only fault is the lack of single player content.
