Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series has levels that are pretty linear, bosses that don't even take five minutes to be defeated and a generic formula, without innovation in the genre and deprived of heart.

The Wonderful 101 Remastered is a game that definitely has style, personality, and attitude. However, during the process of leaving the WiiU behind, it has lost some of its charm. This is a remastering work that feels right, but it's also awkward sometimes due to how it solves some Wii U's features such as dual-screen mechanics.

Outlaws is an experience that, based on stealth and the most western adventure of Star Wars, offers a version of this franchise that we have not yet tasted in video games. It's not perfect and has several issues that are already common in this type of Ubisoft game, but it has heart and knows what to offer fans of the saga.

Yes, Your Grace gives us great freedom to make our own decisions. But also, it forces us to face the consequences. It is an amazing game because of the story and charming characters.

Evan's Remains is one of the little surprises of the year. A beautiful game in every way, with great puzzle design which, at the end of the day, leaves us with a memorable experience due to the story and its characters. I can only recommend it.

A return that offers just enough, and necessary only for those who enjoyed this game back in Game Boy Advance. Not so recommended for new users.

A remaster that's great on visuals and and functionality but leaves us wanting extras and multiplayer modes. The games themselves are still great, although perhaps a little repetitive for today's standards.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted ends up being a decent remaster that we could ask for a little more new content from.

MADiSON, developed by the Argentine studio Bloodius Games, breaks the mold and gets us into one of the best horror experiences so far this year.

This new version of Below is "more of the same", but, at the same time, it offers something different. With a clear separation between Survival Mode and Exploration Mode, the game now has something appealing both for gamers looking for an extreme challenge, and for those who want a slightly more bearable experience.

You can tell that Bloober Team loves horror and The Medium has a lot of lovable details. The atmosphere and original mechanics are the strong point. But the story loses strength and even becomes confusing. This added to the excessive linearity and the chases obtuse design don't allow me to recommend it more than to true fans of the genre.

Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath succeeds in everything. The story is highly entertaining, the new characters are very interesting and even the free content adds much more to a game that already had many good elements. But nothing that can be said takes away the fact that Aftermath is expensive for those who already have the game. It is especially frustrating considering that there are more DLC characters in development, and that surely next year we will have a new collection that for $60 that includes everything again.

Ghostwire Tokyo is such a well-rounded game that it's clearly one of the best titles so far this year. The combat, the progression, the way in which Japanese folklore is introduced and the design of the scenarios are the strongest points of an experience that is easy to recommend.

Trinity Fusion fulfills its primary function, which is to entertain and challenge. Its strong point is its agile and entertaining combat system, which invites us to dodge at the last moment and combine the temporary improvements that we have acquired. It is designed with the idea that there is always a way to dodge damage and that, potentially, we could go through the entire game without being touched. That guarantees interesting bosses with logical attack patterns, which we can learn to dodge and windows to counterattack.

This definitive edition of Age of Empires III will doubly be able to get rid of the "black sheep" label. However, the changes in the interface, as well as being able to choose the HUD of the game that best suits our way of playing, alternating between the classic and the new one, changing the position of the resources and all the indicators, make this game the best version of Age III but, unfortunately, it will have to compete against the prejudices of the vast majority of fans who ignored it for so long.

Marvel Rivals is not a bad video game, but I think it has much more to offer to the Marvel fan than to the gamer. It takes advantage of all the knowledge of that universe to make a competitive multiplayer experience and in that field it manages to bring the two worlds very close in short, entertaining and dynamic matches.

While I think Eiyuden Chronicle has some room for improvement and that more development time would have been even better for it, I appreciate the many original ideas that the experience offers for a genre that is overpopulated, especially in its 2D/2.5D version. However, the foundations for something much bigger are already in place. We'll see if there will be enough gas to keep supporting this project or if it will remain encapsulated as a one hit wonder. My vote for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, then, for all that it represents, with its mix of legacy and timeliness.

Iron Harvest is a good game. KING Art Games did a good job responding to the demand of the players who clearly enjoy these types of games, but with all the ideas they proposed, they could have done something really new. It has a lot of single player content and a good AI both in the campaign and in quick games.

Carrion is a relatively short, positively memorable experience. Our odyssey as the monster attempting to flee from the mysterious installations shines with a formidable audiovisual design and fully original gameplay. It's cool to be the bad guy of the tale, sometimes.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition shines because the magic of the originals is as relevant as it was more than 20 years ago. The games themselves are second to none, but the remaster sticks to the basics and offers a simple updated version of the classics.

Conscript is a survival horror that celebrates the classics, paying respect to their mechanics and with a truly terrifying context. The combat system is a bit rough, but the rest of the game compensates and in a matter of hours it becomes an exciting experience.

Gestalt: Steam & Cinder is a good metroidvania with a healthy dose of interesting characters and dialogue. When it comes to combat and exploration it's fun, and while bosses can be a bit easy, it's never boring. Short and ideal to get started in the genre.
