PATAPON is an action adventure where players use the rhythm of four Mystical Drums to command cute and mysterious eyeball-like creatures known as Patapons.

All Patapons have unique characteristics and classes (jobs) such as the Hatapon who stands in the center of the squadron waving its flag and leading its allies, the Tatepon who protects others with its large shield, and the Yumipon who attacks by shooting arrows. The role of each Patapon during battle varies with their class, allowing you to create a unique and well-rounded army to take on the various challenges that await!

As the player, you are the God of the Patapons and lead them on a grand adventure to Earthend.

Patapon 1+2 Replay is a collection that lovingly revives two of the most creative games in the PSP catalog and brings them back with a fresh look, quality-of-life improvements, and the same captivating and fun gameplay. The combination of rhythm and strategy continues to work incredibly well, and even with the absence of Patapon 3, it's an experience worth rediscovering.

Patapon 1+2 Replay manage to stand the trial of time by offering gameplay with an engaging or even "penetrating" rhythm, challenges of increasing difficulty and a great variety thanks to the fact that it contains two games, one the evolution of the other. Unless you already own the Remaster editions of the original titles, this collection is definitely for you.

Patapon 1+2 Replay isn’t the most exciting remaster collection, but it is incredibly enjoyable and accessible to newcomers.. Both games are still strong real-time strategy games that look and play unlike anything else out there. It would have been nice if, for preservation purposes, we could have gotten extra features like an extensive art gallery with concept art or lots of music to listen to on demand. The few additions that are there will probably make it more accessible to newcomers or folks unfamiliar with the genre.

Patapon 1+2 Replay is a collection of two beloved titles that have stood the test of time. Both games are easy to pick up but offer a fair learning curve, with a clever mix of rhythm and strategy that will have players humming along to the beat. As a remaster, it only includes the essential updates to run on modern consoles, and it’s unclear why the third installment wasn’t included. Still, it remains a solid and enjoyable collection.

Patapon 1+2 Replay is the remaster of the first two games in the famous rhythm strategy series that was born on the PSP. As the Drum God, we lead a mini tribal army by giving orders only through sequences of four beats, to be executed with metronomic precision to advance, attack or defend. The system combines musical skills, tactics, unit management, material gathering, crafting and evolutions with the typical role-playing game system. Faithful and smooth re-release, ideal for those seeking a unique musical strategy experience, although the final third chapter is missing.

Patapon 1+2 Replay doesn't reinvent a thing, but it does remind us why this charming oddity became such a beloved cult classic in the first place. The whimsy is as timeless as ever, even if the rest isn't.
