Aug 5, 2025A remaster that's great on visuals and and functionality but leaves us wanting extras and multiplayer modes. The games themselves are still great, although perhaps a little repetitive for today's standards.

Jul 22, 2025PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY is a duo that enchants with its theme and addictive gameplay. Even with the somewhat exhausting need to repeat tasks to get better items, the dancing creatures offer many hours of rhythmic challenges that greatly justify their original success on the PSP.

Jul 14, 2025An easy recommendation for fans of the series, Patapon 1 + 2 Replay still carries much of the same charm - and annoyances - of the original releases.

Jul 20, 2025Bandai Namco's remaster of the first two Patapon games, cult classics relegated to a console now obsolete, is the best way to rediscover the charm of a saga that previously suffered from problematic porting. Pyramid and Japan Studio's absurd gameplay recipe, with its blend of strategy and rhythm with RPG elements, is still irresistible despite the repetitiveness that lurks at its core, partly due to a gameplay structure that thrives in short play sessions. This collection is weighed down not only by the absence of the third game, although the choice is understandable, but also by the lack of substantial additions that might have appealed to a wider audience than just those nostalgic for the original.

Aug 1, 2025Patapon 1+2 Replay doesn't reinvent a thing, but it does remind us why this charming oddity became such a beloved cult classic in the first place. The whimsy is as timeless as ever, even if the rest isn't.
