Riders Republic is a step forward in Ubisoft's sporting open worlds, but we're still far from the best that this sport subgenre can really offer.

The story is extremely engaging: therefore, as an interactive movie, it's a good one. As a video game, there are thousands of them that have applied gameplay elements to great stories in a better way.

XCOM: Chimera Squad is an interesting experience that's not a revolution in the strategy genre, but it feels really fresh in the series. The new mechanics suit the game very well and the shortcomings reveal this is a budget title. It's a smaller game than XCOM installments, but it doesn't fall short of content. Firaxis Games knows this and offers it at a reduced price, posing it as an experimental spin-off, preparing us for what will come in XCOM 3.

Crimson Desert isn't a game for everyone. Despite its flaws and complex systems, it's a fascinating game that has a lot to offer—though it does test your patience.

The studio that brought us unforgettable stories returns with another installment set in its original world, now more accessible to players who never ventured into Eora in Pillars of Eternity. With a well-written cast of characters and minimal technical and design flaws, Avowed is a joy to experience in every aspect of gameplay, shaping up to be one of the best releases of 2025.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered manages to bring back two of the most important and most beloved games in the history of gaming, reviving the idea that the franchise, perhaps, can continue. Despite the fact that the gameplay is notorious for the passage of time, and that they present some minor technical flaws, this package more than fulfills its purpose of bringing these titles to the hands of new players, and at the same time leaves old fans happy.

A brutal and unique atmosphere that is diluted by repetitive combat and an irregular pace.

Zenless Zone Zero is style and is substance, a game with hypnotic action not only because of its visual accomplishments, but also because of how addictive is its gameplay. If HoYoverse properly supports it in the future, then this will be the studio's third victory.

Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers stands out as one of the most acclaimed titles in the series. Its 2025 version maintains that strength, but feels a little short in terms of new features.

The Pathless isn't necessarily a bad game, but it's hard to recommend. What really stands out are its puzzles and their variants, but the journey from one to the other lacks momentum. Those who have never played a similar game may find it interesting, but in general it feels a sloppy copy of previous games.

I was hoping for As Dusk Falls to share a place with the best and most respected Netflix and HBO productions, but that would be setting the bar too high. I find it more accurate to position it as those simpler and pure popcorn series, ideal to spend a few hours of a gray Sunday afternoon. An ideal entertainment for when we only need something temporary and fun.

Do Not Feed the Monkeys is an unexpected game, first and above all, that manages to shine in a media full of over-saturated genres. It’s a genre all on its own and it deserves to be experimented.

After a year in Early Access, Unrailed is a party game that challenges us to keep a little train rolling towards the next station, having to craft and place the rails on the go. The game offers the option to play single player, but it’s clear the game’s strong point relies on its multiplayer experience. [Early Access Score = 80]

Bravely Default's old-school influences make it quite a peculiar game. It has an excellent combat system, full of strategies and really charming characters, but the story can be very simple and the mandatory grinding moments extend the game to about 60 hours of which not all are worth it. For those who want a JRPG with modern nuancess this game may not be a big deal, but for those looking for a game like the old ones, in Bravely Default 2 they will feel at home.

Somewhat in line with what happened with Mario Kart World, this new Mario Tennis fails to break away from or expand on what its predecessors did, giving us a little more of the (good) stuff we already knew.

Samurai Shodown is the reboot the saga needed and one of the best modern fighting games. It has what is needed to become a competitive title on a par with the best games in the genre. It doesn't have much content for those who enjoy single player, but it has a solid base and a balanced and original combat system.

While playing PGA Tour 2K21, we find a refreshing and complete game; a worthy representative of golf and a great sports game. Beyond the small imperfections, perhaps its main failure is how familiar it feels to those of us who have been playing The Golf Club regularly.

Beautiful art, a rousing soundtrack and an appealing combat system can’t compensate for the game’s weaknesses: poor tutorials, unintuitive mechanics, and two-dimensional characters. Fans of the series and old-school JRPG nostalgics may overlook its flaws and endure it all with a smile - I couldn’t.

Weird West is original and offers a fresh, immersive and highly entertaining experience. Its high points include a gripping story in which all our actions matter and a beautiful artwork. The game has obvious limitations, but manages to capture the essence of the Wild West.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human isn't a revolution as the first game, but it is a solid entry with hours and hours of content, although probably not as long as 500 hours. It has everything it needs to become a game that fans are going to love.

If what you're looking for is to play tennis, TopSpin 2K25 is the best way to do it in 2024. If you want something more or to play casually, the presence of microtransactions and the limited variety of professional players (which is not the case for the stadiums!) do not justify the price to pay.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands doesn't kick the board to reformulate the Borderlands series, but it brings enough fresh air to boost the series. The game characters, dialogues and craziness are much more interesting, dynamic and fun than in previous entries, and they provide a good base on which to build future titles in the franchise.

The work of Creative Business Unit 3 is once again reflected in a short experience that leaves us wanting to see much more of what's to come next year. Echoes of the Fallen is more of Final Fantasy XVI, with its hits and misses. Let's hope that Naoki Yoshida and his team will display more of the possibilities that this world has to offer in its next release.

Mortal Shell is the first soulslike to understand the true essence of the genre and, therefore, deserves a place above any other exponent not developed by From Software. Despite its weaknesses, it's one of the most exciting, well executed and beautiful soulslikes I have played in the last decade.

Despite being too similar to its inspirations, Coffee Talk is a unique blend of love for retro style, chillout music and a surprisingly vivid and fantasy portrayal of Seattle. A beautiful and relaxing experience that succeeds as a hybrid of barista simulation and traditional visual novel.

It's not a frustrating game, nor is it a bad proposal, but it does fall halfway down the road by failing to stand out. The open world that invites us to go through the playlists, before unlocking fast travel, is aesthetically appealing, but it feels like a ghost town where nothing happens and our gameplay loop lacks basic fun. The playlists are a great aspect, but not all of them are interesting to explore, leaving aside the strong offering of vehicles with anecdotal experiences that aren't all that worthwhile. On the plus side, it continues to appeal to arcade adrenaline. While it wants to copy something that was previously successful, it doesn't end up being a meaningless copy.
