Little Big Planet could very well be a modern classic. Relying heavily on user content this game will only grow in splendor with time. The game does hold it's own though with great levels, beautiful graphics and fantastic four player co-op. This is in every way an epic strategy game. With great music, graphics and structure this game perfectly frames one of the most interesting eras in history. This is one quirky combination of a rhythm and strategy based game that is sure to test your patience. In order for you to truly appreciate the finer parts of the experience it helps if you normally appreciate really fine grained micromanagement of a typical Japanese flavor. You also need to be able to enjoy and handle the rhythm based gameplay. This might be too much of a niche experience for some, but for those who can appreciate the formula this is one fantastic title.- Level7.nu

By taking a step away from hours of cutscenes and codec conversation, and instead focusing on pure gameplay, Metal Gear Solid V is an unfamiliar but ultimately great and lengthy experience. It would have been nice with some more time spent on the characters and story, but it is a fair compromise with the new open world direction. Metal Gear Solid V is a great evolution for the series and it is a shame that the new direction will not reach its full potential due to Konami's probable withdrawal from the console world.- Level7.nu

Battlefield: Bad Company is an attempt to lure the Battlefield-audience to the consoles, and it's one fine attempt. The qualitative and humorous single player campaign is a fun experience that introduces the player to the gameplay in a great way. Peace Walker is a fantastic addition to the franchise, so great that it's almost a shame that Kojima Productions didn't decide to name the game Metal Gear Solid 5. It is filled with so much polished content that it is close to being ridiculous. The enormous amount of cars and tracks together with improved community, painting and tuning features this came can be played for months. On the surface you might get the impression that little has changed between the second and third installment of EA's life simulator, but when you delve deeper into the experience you'll find a game that offers you more unique characters, an increased ability to participate in social activities outside of the confines of the house and less focus on tedious daily chores. For the first time your sim and the world surrounding him/her feels truly unique. Flower can be seen as a statement about society versus nature, to be interpreted by the player as he or she wishes. To be specific it's a game where you fly a leaf from a flower through nature, in the process gathering other leaves. As time goes by your entourage of leaves grow in size and before you know it you've got enough to bring life back to the previously barren fields. Flower is as much of a meditative experience as it is a beautiful piece of art. A subjective experience as this is hard to grade, but a great experience it is if you're susceptible.- Level7.nu

The second expansion to the gargantuan behemoth of a game that is World of Warcraft, titled Wrath of the Lich King, sets you on the quest to defeat the evil Lich King Arthas. The presentation has been improved and the overall design of the new continent Northrend is nothing short of impressive. What visual novel Steins;Gate lacks in gameplay it certainly makes up for with one of the best, most complex and most touching stories I have experienced in video games. It centers around a few youths in Tokyo who accidentally invents a machine that can send messages back in time. The mix of science fiction and drama is further lifted by its memorable characters, in part thanks to good Japanese voice actors. On the negative side, the rare parts of interaction among all text boxes feel a bit illogical at times, some of the characters are less memorable and there is a little bit of unnecessary fan service. These things will hardly be on the mind of anyone getting into the story though.- Level7.nu

This is a title that treats us to a charming combination of puzzles and platforming. You gain bonuses in the upper screen of your DS by solving puzzles on the touchscreen below. The pacing can become a tad bit stressful at times but that's the only major caveat in what's otherwise a charming experience that should appeal to all fans of these two genres.- Level7.nu

Think of it as Mario Kart with tricks and lots of weapons. It's a bit slow and the tracks aren't that great but there's a lot of fun game modes and in the end it's an excellent party family game. Avalanche is Disney's best friend.- Level7.nu

Gunman Clive 2 is a traditional sequel. As with its predecessor, the stages are short, but intense. The graphics uses more color, but the platforming has also changed properly. Traces of both Super Mario Galaxy and Uncharted are able to spot. With just a little more experimenting could Gunman Clive 2 have been an unforgettable gem.- Level7.nu

The 2009 edition of Football Manager is yet another solid title in the series. Having to interface with mass media is a welcome addition, as is the new streamlined interface, improved playability and the new 3D engine for match presentations. Even though all these additions are welcome they are also in need of some extra levels of polish, but put these flaws aside and you've got a great footy manager title.- Level7.nu

Tiny Tower might look and play like a Facebook game but it doesn't demand much from the player and all investments are really optional. There's a nice feel good vibe to building your tower and I keep wanting to build another floor.- Level7.nu

Developer Roll7 delivers a sequel that makes the original unattractive and boring in comparison. With an awesome art style, great level design and the inclusion of manuals this game is a blast to play.- Level7.nu

The Escapists is a game that demands quite a lot of the player, but when you have learned the basic mechanics it feels really awarding. Easily one of the deepest most interesting games you will play this year.- Level7.nu

The addition of gunpowder brings a whole new layer of strategic complexity to the battlefield. An expansion pack that manages to improve upon an already great game.- Level7.nu

Apotheon includes all the ingredients for a great adventure in a true metroidvania-spirit. The theme of Greek mythology is rare in games, still it fits pretty good. The controls and the game mechanics is sometimes a bit complicated but offers at the same time rich variety. Probably the best metroidvania this year.- Level7.nu
