With Armored Core 6, FromSoftware brilliantly shows that its know-how is not limited to Dark Souls or Elden Ring. The Japanese studio delivers here an action game with a rather irreproachable gameplay, at the same time tactical, demanding and ultra-dynamic, spearheading a frantic pace title... Do not be fooled by the supposedly old-school structure with individual assignments. Fires of Rubicon immerses you directly in the action, and knows how to draw when necessary linear, more open phases, bosses, not to mention still impressive panoramas. Despite a slight disappointment for the major enemies, in the 2nd part of the adventure, and a small lack of content, Armored Core 6 is an addictive title, which sticks to the skin. A great action game, even if you don't have a crush on mechas.

Diablo 4 is not a revolution as its predecessors were. But Blizzard delivers with it a more than successful formula of its saga which today constitutes the best way to discover it.

An adventure that, despite some heaviness in the text and rhythm, offers a very pleasant taste.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake manages to bring together the best of both worlds: the charm and freedom of old-school games with the comfort and fluidity of modern titles. This starts from a visual point of view with a more successful HD-2D style than ever that looks like an achievement for Team Asano. Controller in hand, the adventure benefits from so many comfort options that it becomes more fluid than ever and modular to satisfy all audiences. Thanks to all this, we find with great pleasure the feeling of freedom typical of Famicom games with gameplay that shines as much by its simplicity as by the combinations offered. And if we can criticize it for the structure of its dungeons, some less beautiful environments and its technique on Switch, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake still succeeds in its bet to bring back to taste a timeless classic in the best possible conditions.

The epic is just more beautiful and smoother than the original one, sometimes giving the impression of being in front of a real animated film, especially in front of the carefully animated cutscenes. On PlayStation 5, adaptive triggers add a little extra to the immersion.

With Unicorn Overlord, Vanillaware once again displays its mastery by tackling a new genre. The tactical aspect of the battles displays a more than impressive density and know-how which will speak to fans of the turn-based tactical role-playing game genre. The essential is not everything. It is also through the exploration side that the title is pleasant to play and that the gameplay loop is addictive! On the other hand, the writing and the plot are not the strong points of the title since they never really manage to take off. If Unicorn Overlord has very different characteristics from its JRPG companions released before it in 2024 (FF7: Rebirth, Granblue Fantasy Relink or Persona 3 Reload), it nevertheless displays the same quality of finish by being an excellent game.

Disco Elysium on Switch manages to keep the enjoyment of the original game intact, with excellent readability of text and interface, even in portable mode. The grip on the controller is also well thought out and no point of friction taints the experience. The only downsides: a stable framerate, but which will struggle to exceed 30 FPS and long loading times between each zone. But if not, if you like (very good) reading and universes as original as they are dense, you can go for it: you will surely live one of your best role-playing experiences.

Two Point Museum is a success, it follows in the footsteps of the studio's two previous games. If only it weren't frustrating because of its expeditions! It's a great mechanic that would have been perfect if it hadn't required so much "farming". But you just have to zoom out and observe our beautiful museum, well decorated, filled with numerous and diverse works, with employees working where they should be and happy customers... And we congratulate ourselves on having worked hard, and having enjoyed it.

In the end it is difficult to judge an extension on Monster Hunter since it is not yet in final version. Several updates are already planned for the coming months with additions of monsters, quests and special events. In the state Monster Hunter Sunbreak sublimates everything that has been proposed by Rise without revolutionizing the formula. We regret the absence of a mode equivalent to the Fief of Iceborn for players wanting to persist at the end of the game, but it is clear that the extension proposed by Capcom is solid, rather well stocked and very clean technically, whether on Nintendo Switch or PC. A must for fans of the genre and a title not to be missed this summer.

Diving back into this Silent Hill 2 completely rebuilt by Konami is like returning to a childhood village dear to our hearts decades later, or coming across a fiery declaration written by a person with whom ties have been broken... everything is there as in memories, but everything is different too. James Sunderland is back, accompanied by his eternal demons. If our hero has doubts about the necessity of his coming to the heart of the cursed city, we no longer have any: this trying journey is a dream for fans, as much as it will be a nightmare for others. Within this striking story of which we are the Eros (and Thanatos), the infernal round trips to the confines of darkness - even more numerous than in 2001 - will leave tourists on the side of the road. Bloober Team has written a love letter primarily to Silent Hill 2 fans. A letter at least as powerful as the one addressed to survival horror fans 23 years earlier, written by Team Silent.

With Mario Kart World, Nintendo delivers a solid launch game for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new gameplay mechanics, survival mode, and art direction are all successes. The open world, meanwhile, adds a fresh feel without being entirely convincing over time. The title doesn't revolutionize the series as we might have thought, but it intelligently enriches the formula, while offering plenty of room for improvement and immediate gameplay fun. While we were entitled to expect more, Mario Kart World remains an excellent game that paves a whole new path for Nintendo's iconic series.

Nioh 3 is a masterpiece! A super complete action RPG, more accessible than the previous installments, with excellent replayability and, above all, an absolutely brilliant combat system. The samurai and ninja modes, the culmination of Team Ninja's expertise, blend together perfectly and form the foundation of a generous and addictive experience. The open areas are always designed to facilitate progression, and the co-op mode is the perfect finishing touch. A must-play for fans of the genre.

Persona 3 Reload is a model in terms of a role-playing game remake. The title takes everything that makes the charm of the original game to modernize the experience and correct its flaws by drawing inspiration from Persona 5. Thanks to comfort options, the formula combining daily management and dungeon exploration becomes one of even more addictive. As a result, we are even more captivated by its cast of endearing characters and especially its perfectly oiled combat system. Add to this a fabulous graphic and musical overhaul and the adventure is all the more pleasant to navigate. In a nutshell, Persona 3 Reload is a great way to (re)discover Persona 3 and the perfect game to wait for Persona 6.

Fluid, well-paced, easy to handle and with multiple settings to adapt to all ways of playing, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sets the bar high. Relying on the best references of the genre at the risk of not letting its personal touch twirl, the app ticks all the boxes of a very good action adventure platformer. Ubisoft has created a Metroidvania that meets the specifications, clean, without major burrs, but also without a little something that makes it as unique as a legendary gem. If you like the genre, go for it.

With its slick aesthetic close to illuminations and its implacable authenticity, Pentiment is a scintillating tribute to the Renaissance era. It is also granted some rather intriguing crime scenes, a handful of funny scenes and above all a successful time structure and choices that really matter. Too bad that his story sometimes so laborious and a last act slightly winded are so many thorny elements.

Bayonetta 3 definitely marks the comeback of the Platinum Games witch. With this new adventure, Bayonetta proves once again that she is the queen of beat'em up by offering battles that are still as exhilarating and spectacular as ever, which are sublimated here thanks to many new weapons and the mechanics of summoning demons. which changes the way of fighting. In addition to being a superb beat'em up, the title does not forget to offer a certain variety, both in its more open levels and in its game phases, in particular by making us play other characters like Viola and Joan. And then, the adventure is all the more pleasant to go through as it benefits from a high frame rate in combat, an epic staging, but also a more serious scenario which delivers a grandiose outcome. . Obviously, this episode is not perfect for all that, with its sometimes messy confrontations, its graphics far from being impeccable or its wiser side than usual, but it remains a new memorable adventure nonetheless. Clearly worth the long wait.
