Although its linear structure and its lack of ancillary content are likely to frustrate some, and despite a more painful than fun post-game, Final Fantasy VII Remake is undoubtedly one of the best games in recent years and we look forward to seeing the treatment of the continuation of the adventure by Square Enix.- Jeuxvideo.com

Always ingenious, funny and captivating, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is definitely worth lingering over again in 2013's cult experience. Today, it still expands with a level-design that is still clever and surprising. And what a pleasure to rediscover the implacable humor of the narrator.- Jeuxvideo.com

Sea of Stars has everything from an excellent tribute to the biggest names in Japanese role-playing games of the 90s. A well-paced story, a cast of characters to which we quickly become attached for their assumed personalities. It manages to do the same amazing job as its role models, thanks to its jaw-dropping art direction and adventure-perfect soundtrack. If the fights are engaging and push the player to think about each confrontation, they tend to lengthen the good dynamics of the title. It is especially by the lack of evolution of gameplay for the characters that the players will be able to find a certain weariness. If Sea of Stars is therefore not as revolutionary as its spiritual masters in their time, it should still have a place of choice on a shelf of your toy library in 2023. It may well establish itself as the independent game of the year if Silksong remains discreet or even claim prices from much fiercer competition. More than a great performance for a UFO from the 90s.- Jeuxvideo.com

A stunning action game, well optimized, greatly rythmed by a dynamic OST and by some of the best fighting scenes we've ever seen in a Platinum production. It's a shame that the ending missions aren't as interesting as it should, or that the platform sequences aren't a strength.- Jeuxvideo.com

Created with the aim of convincing players to go back to the origins of the saga, Star Ocean The Second Story R is a very careful remake which really allows you to personalize the experience as you wish. The adventure is thus explored in a much less austere manner than in the past thanks to a complete dusting of the fundamentals which succeed in updating the formula without sacrificing its authenticity.- Jeuxvideo.com

Even if it’s not as visually astonishing as its PC and PS4/One counterparts, Dragon Ball FighterZ on Switch is still an amazing fighting game, which is at its best if you’re using the proper controler, such as « not the Joycons ».- Jeuxvideo.com

Like a lovingly polished katana, Shinobi Art of Vengeance cuts hard. Pleasant to pick up and fun to play thanks to its multiple moves, it's such a robust action game that the platforming aspect seems more timid in comparison. Sure, the Metroidvania-lite aspect offers large levels to explore, but it doesn't transcend the experience. In any case, we feel the rigor of intensive training behind many gameplay mechanics, like a shinobi perfecting his art, even if all the techniques observed have already been seen elsewhere.- Jeuxvideo.com

Thanks to its upgrade, Cyberpunk 2077 finally offers a gaming experience on PS5 and Xbox Series at the height of what it should have been at its launch in December 2020. More beautiful, more stable and better optimized than in backward compatibility : those who had waited for the next-gen patch will finally be able to enjoy the adventure in good conditions. But beyond these technical considerations, if patch 1.5 brings some welcome adjustments (more responsive crowd, improved but still perfectible driving and ergonomics...), the title remains globally identical to the PC version despite a less impressive visual rendering. More than a year after its release, Cyberpunk 2077 remains an RPG with a fascinating universe and impeccable writing that remains plagued by immersion-breaking bugs and an artificial intelligence that falls short. Now that CD Projekt has finally honored its promises, we can't wait to see what the Polish studio has in store for the future of its futuristic open-world with new DLCs.- Jeuxvideo.com

We understand better why it took so long for a new opus. Pikmin 4 is an exemplary sequel and the gaming world would certainly be much better off if all licenses followed its example. While keeping its DNA, the title does not just offer a few anecdotal novelties: it explores new horizons. Something to delight both fans of the license and perhaps tempt a new audience. In any case, trying out the Pikmin formula with this new opus is clearly your best option. Pikmin 4 indeed surpasses the already excellent Pikmin 3, and this for our greatest pleasure. But we wouldn't have said no to a little visual refresh and the return of the coop mode of its predecessor. Two big shadows that come to tarnish an experience yet sublimated on all the rest.- Jeuxvideo.com

Final Fantasy XVI is a title with a fascinating proposal, unfortunately hampered by certain aspects. Going even deeper into the action than its predecessor, the game delivers spectacular combat and rich possibilities thanks to the powers of the Primordials. These confrontations have all the more impact as they take place within an exciting story and a mature and credible universe. It is also on the graphic level that FFXVI puts your eyes on it through its clashes of Primordials and its environments, despite a fluctuating framerate in performance mode. Unfortunately, all of this is marred somewhat by linear levels, limited exploration, and sketchy staging that create a disconnect with the modernity of the rest of the experience. Despite these dated elements, the Final Fantasy saga proves with this episode and FFVII Remake that it is still able to amaze, more than 35 years after its debut.- Jeuxvideo.com

Both remain the excellent action/adventure games they were at the time, still offering spectacular moments and more touching sequences, in the service of fast-paced experiences that are still savored with great pleasure. That being said, the performance boost offered by the PS5 remains quite anecdotal, and, unless you are an ultimate aficionado of the franchise and the frames per second are a grail to reach to play your favorite license, the investment remains dispensable, all the more so since the 4K / 30 FPS sometimes struggles to hold up. That being said, the performance mode does its job very well and ensures 60 fps in optimal conditions thanks to an effective upscaling technique. So, if you want to discover for the first time the adventures of Chloé Frazer and Nathan Drake, or if you want to play this license in a more fluid way, this collection remains pleasant enough to browse for you to consider acquiring it.- Jeuxvideo.com

Gran Turismo 7 is a real return to the series' roots, one that fans have been waiting for. It brings together within it the multi and community aspect of GT Sport while rediscovering the "RPG of the racing game" aspect of the first four opuses with a well-structured and scalable GT mode. The driving is both technical and accessible, benefiting from great precision which offers a good margin of progress. 420 vehicles, 90 tracks on 34 circuits and mission and license modes for those who like small challenges, it promises a phenomenal lifespan to all car simulation fans. Although we would have appreciated a less plan-plan artificial intelligence, GT7 regains its acclaim to once again become The Complete Real Driving Simulator that we have always loved.- Jeuxvideo.com

Saros is not merely a successor to Returnal; it is its raw evolution. By placing projectile absorption at the very heart of the game, Housemarque delivers a visceral shooter where aggression is rewarded. While the roguelite elements occasionally lack variety—and a touch of wildness—in their arsenal, the utilization of the PS5’s DualSense controller offers an unparalleled dopamine hit. More accessible yet still demanding, it is an unmissable gem for fans of the genre—a shooter without equal.- Jeuxvideo.com

Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 remain absolute benchmarks for the 3D platform. Their return to Switch and Switch 2 is the best opportunity to discover or rediscover them in modernized conditions. However, it's important to keep in mind that this is an improved port, not a complete overhaul. The visual improvements, optimized cursor, and portable comfort bring real benefits, but don't revolutionize the experience. For new players, it's a must-have. For former Wii owners, the decision will depend on their desire to rediscover these masterpieces in a slightly more enjoyable version. They still arrive at the right time after a strangely weak year, without a truly original Mario game for the new console and the plumber's 40th anniversary. With these Super Mario Galaxy games, we've simply started dreaming about the future of the series again. Which is already, in my opinion, quite a feat.- Jeuxvideo.com

We loved Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle! Despite quite a few flaws - whether it's the behavior of the NPCs or the very structure of some levels -, the title from Machine Games offers us a very beautiful adventure that perfectly reproduces the essence of Spielberg and Lucas' character. The Ancient Circle is at once funny, intense, sometimes rather touching, and will certainly satisfy fans of the license. What's more, with its first-person camera, it's a fairly unique vision of the action-adventure game with a treasure hunter twist. Unlike Uncharted, Indy is not a superhero and the overbidding of spectacular staging here gives way to a more "traditional" approach to archaeology. Enough to get lost for 20-30 hours in superbly produced settings whose atmosphere commands respect.- Jeuxvideo.com

The artistic direction is magnificent and it is a pleasure to discover or rediscover the characters and iconic moments of one of the best episodes of the series. We would have liked to see Grezzo improve or further deepen the experience in terms of additions and content and it will have to do with a "vintage" lifespan and some archaic concepts, but that does not detract from the innate charm of this opus.- Jeuxvideo.com

Fluid, well-paced, easy to handle and with multiple settings to adapt to all ways of playing, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sets the bar high. Relying on the best references of the genre at the risk of not letting its personal touch twirl, the app ticks all the boxes of a very good action adventure platformer. Ubisoft has created a Metroidvania that meets the specifications, clean, without major burrs, but also without a little something that makes it as unique as a legendary gem. If you like the genre, go for it.- Jeuxvideo.com

Immortality is a new demonstration of the art of Sam Barlow. Mystical, captivating, Marissa is the main subject of a work of absolutely remarkable screenplay consistency, with polished shots and whose non-chronological grouping makes the whole experience gripping. And if it is true that the redundancy of the gameplay based on a simple click mechanism can prove to be heavy at the end of the experience, the adventure is nonetheless incredibly striking and controlled.- Jeuxvideo.com

Comfortable in the exercise of style imposed by the time loop, the artists of Arkane signed with Deathloop a very good FPS that is as interesting as it is wacky. More action-oriented than a Dishonored, Bethesda's title quickly reaches a level of depth but also of complexity that is rare even for a work by Arkane. The repetitive aspect necessarily linked to the theme of the game is intelligently lessened by the variety of situations, the chance of encounters (with Julianna) and the rise in power. Enjoying a concept of loop without running out of time, Deathloop encourages experiments of all kinds in a universe that contrasts drastically with what the people of Lyon have already produced. And it's good to see that the studio doesn't sing us the same song ... over and over.- Jeuxvideo.com

Shredder's Revenge was expected at the turn and it never disappoints. A love letter to the beat'em up (understand action game against several opponents) of the 16-bit generation (Super Nintendo, Mega Drive...), it pays homage to Turtles in Time by relying on a gameplay of exception and a simply masterful achievement. Beautiful, colorful, well animated and accompanied by catchy music, the title of Tribute Games multiplies the nods to the franchise and will delight all those who despaired of rediscovering the sensations of yesteryear. Yes, some aspects of the game are classic, but the adventure is so exhilarating and dynamic that we want more! Unquestionably the best Ninja Turtles game since Turtles in Time. Fans will be thrilled.- Jeuxvideo.com
