Generous content is the great strength of NHL 19. Unfortunately, it's not sufficient to overcome the lack of new gameplay mechanics or the graphic render and animation system, that would gain a lot from a switch to the Frostbite engine.

Blazing Chrome is a nice tribute to Metal Slug, Contra, or Super Turrican. It depicts a post-apocalyptic world in the way Terminator saw it 30 years ago, giving it a true retro feel. But it suffers from some minor issues.

We thought F-Zero was dead and buried since 2004. But with F-Zero 99, Nintendo made a nice surprise by bringing the Golden Fox and the Blue Falcon out of the garage. The gameplay sensations of the time are intact and both beginners and beginners can enjoy this modernized iteration thanks to its unique and energized parts. However, and quite logically, it will not replace an entire episode (remaster or new game) that many fans were waiting for. The fault is very little content at the moment and the absence of a multiplayer mode. F-Zero 99 will bring a smile back, even if only for a few hours, to all fans of the license who have been patient for 19 years. And that's already not bad.

More meditative than contemplative, FAR: Changing Tides is an invitation to tranquility, so assertive that it sometimes becomes sluggish. Between the long crossings, moments of grace maintain the interest of the experience, translated by intuitive puzzles and sound design at its peak.

Yooka-Laylee finally succeeds in bringing the platformer to the next level. With an original structure, made of puzzle and reverse narration, this new episode brings a fresh OST and some great ideas, while being sometimes too difficult or unprecise. A really good game for nostalgics and newcommers.

Happy Home Paradise is proving to be a very honorable addition to Animal Crossing: New Horizons which is intended for none other than decoration enthusiasts. If the experience can be repetitive, it is best appreciated during quiet short sessions. And apart from a certain lack of ergonomics, the expansion benefits from long hours of additional activities, adorable and new inhabitants as well as very interesting elements transferable in the base game.

Following in the footsteps of Myst and Riven, this remake of The Amerzone: The Explorer's Testament proves that the genre can adapt to today's expectations. With its sumptuous graphics and Jules Verne-esque universe, the story imagined by Benoît Sokal is enhanced by an approach that manages to modernize the formula without betraying the original. A successful immersion thanks to the quality French voices, the music of Inon Zur and his son, and a fluid and interesting progression. A masterstroke for the Parisian studio of Microids.

For those who finished the first Division game, this second episode will probably lack some new and exclusive features. That being said, The Division 2 is definately a great game that mixes polished gameplay and a huge amount of content, especially for the end game.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a great remake and the Dragon Engine does an amazing work recreating Tokyo and giving life to the punchy combat system we loved. Drawbacks are still the same : the game feels a bit repetitive and QTE-focused, and the subtitles are only in english.

Borderlands 3 doesn’t take much risk and doesn’t evolve much either. It has more content, more loot and more options to customize your character, but that’s it. It’s still fun to play though, thanks to great action sequences.

The new benchmark for the Codemasters saga? F1 23 via the breath of EA Sports releases the best vintage in terms of content for the license, especially thanks to the addition of the F1 World mode. Even if you are not really well guided towards the latter, it will fill many hours of your time with its many well-renewed challenges and quests. A lack now filled for the Formula 1 saga, which is still going around in circles in the animations and its technical rendering. The 2023 opus is a great gateway to the world of single-seaters, with the bonus of the continuation of Point de Rupture, the rather interesting Drive to Survive scenario.

Accessible and with a generous lifespan, Shadowverse: Champion's Battle manages to provide an effective gateway to the Cygames card game. Coated with a good-natured universe, the title allows everyone to get used to the mechanics of Shadowverse thanks to many really useful aids. Unfortunately, the lack of a French translation prevents it from reaching the target younger audience, which makes it more suitable for those who wish to try their hand at a card game solo and on a laptop, preferably. Same criticism on the side of its disappointing technique, its too simple scenario and its structure a little too repetitive which have something to tarnish the experience. Not enough either to prevent the title from offering a nice introduction to its real end-game: Shadowverse on PC and mobile.

Stray's main strengths lie in its adorable protagonist and its settings which are a joy to explore. Let's add to that a nicely conducted narrative and a mystical atmosphere draped with beautiful synthesized melodies. There are still the puzzles, which are often too basic and the frustration of not being able to jump where we want, which prevent the game from reaching its full potential. Stray is nonetheless a very nice experience, perfect for the youngest and quite touching for adults.

Once again this year, NBA 2K26 is an immersive experience for any fan of the North American league. Ultra-complete with perfectly rendered atmospheres and player visuals/gestures, fans of management and controller sensations will enjoy offline modes like MyNBA, MyGM or MyTeam. This last mode mixes NBA players and WNBA players for even more legendary team possibilities and variety in the title. On the other hand, the online MyCareer mode will be divisive with its gameplay for Season 1, reserved for hardcore offensive players who know their shot and dunk gauge by heart, to the detriment of irregular shooting defenders. Visual Concepts has managed to be even more effective this year by leaving aside the side quests to get to the essentials and give more tools for fans of player and team creation to have fun. All that's missing is a game that's less demanding of virtual currency, 2K26 being still devilishly pay-to-fast, to approach perfection in the sports simulation genre.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the game of confirmation. That of a sister's faith in her little brother when the world crumbles at the foot of their defeat. Then, that of the great talent of Asobo Studios. Offering richer gameplay without upsetting the formula, this sequel never forgets the essentials in relation to the genre it targets. Amicia's desperate fight is at least as magnificent as the graphics and soundtrack that drive the work. The infiltration mechanics can challenge, and we would have liked a final finishing coat, but none of the defects encountered tarnish our judgment: with Requiem, the Bordeaux studio delivers a great vintage. Dark red as death.

Created with the aim of convincing players to go back to the origins of the saga, Star Ocean The Second Story R is a very careful remake which really allows you to personalize the experience as you wish. The adventure is thus explored in a much less austere manner than in the past thanks to a complete dusting of the fundamentals which succeed in updating the formula without sacrificing its authenticity.

Planet Coaster 2 wanted to be the ultimate theme park creation game, and it succeeded. The level of detail, the range of parameters to consider, and the number of creation possibilities offered are dizzying. The risk of being discouraged by so much wealth is real, especially since the unclear interfaces and incomplete tutorials will not help you enough. But, in the same way that your visitors will be able to choose whether or not to dive into your new pools, it is up to you to decide which game you will dive into: a demanding micro-management game? An ultra-complete construction game? Or just a fun time on the career mode, borrowing magnificent creations from the community? Everything is possible, and the frustration of not being able to do what you want is reduced. Who said it was easy to tame an almost perfect game?

Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PC is the bitter observation of a flagrant lack of optimization on the part of Ubisoft, which definitely seems to have trouble offering a satisfactory technical experience on these latest AAA productions, according to the recent example of Watch Dogs Legion. The game indeed struggles to reach 60 FPS on a large majority of configurations and especially suffers from great framerate instability, making the experience almost painful when many characters are displayed on the screen. Difficult not to sanction this version by a few points less, therefore, while waiting for the arrival of an update.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an experience that is both very family-friendly and accessible. Two boxes ticked brilliantly. The game is beautiful, generous, offers great sensations and can easily please all ages despite its few game design flaws. TT Games undoubtedly offers the ultimate LEGO Star Wars experience for all fans of the series as well as an ideal entry for the youngest into galactic adventures.

Metro Exodus isn’t the perfect game we wish we had. It features poor AI and some technical issues which display a lack of polish. But the game is beautiful, well paced and offers many memorable moments. A good new entry in the saga.
