If it doesn't reinvent the wheel, Payday 3 modernizes its four-player heist formula with accuracy and intelligence, and that's all we ask of it. The eight missions available to date are well done - and make excellent use of the few new mechanics. All in all, the life of a “controller in hand” thug is still just as demanding. Even if we can criticize a slight lack of content, especially for the arsenal, this third part already sticks to the skin with a system of skills, difficulty modes which always make you want to start again and achieve the ideal run. A superb foundation for the future.- Jeuxvideo.com

Marvel's Midnight Suns manages to make tactical combat accessible to a new audience while showing great respect for the license it features. By choosing to create a new character, the Firaxis teams place the player at the center of this adventure, surrounded by a cast of five-star superheroes to please everyone. This desire is also felt in the tactical combat which advocates a more direct approach, but also more spectacular and satisfying thanks to a card system that is more intuitive than one could imagine. But in addition to its fairly slow pace of play, the title is particularly talkative with all the funny and friendly interactions they offer within the Abbey. Despite these small flaws, Firaxis manages to offer an experience that is both affordable to an audience unaccustomed to tactics and rich for fans of the genre thanks to its complex mechanics, while honoring the superheroes of the Marvel universe.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Reimagined, forget the laborious epic of the original Dragon Quest VII on PS1. More beautiful than ever with its unique aesthetic, the game offers a much more enjoyable, condensed adventure thanks to its numerous accessibility and difficulty options. In this customizable experience, combat gains depth through the richness of dual vocations, allowing for combinations that are as improbable as they are powerful. However, in addition to some flaws from the original game that are still present, this modernized version sometimes pushes the accessibility features too far, making the adventure too easy at times. But make no mistake: Dragon Quest VII Reimagined elevates a great RPG to new heights and will be a landmark title in the category of ambitious remakes.- Jeuxvideo.com

Sea of Stars has everything from an excellent tribute to the biggest names in Japanese role-playing games of the 90s. A well-paced story, a cast of characters to which we quickly become attached for their assumed personalities. It manages to do the same amazing job as its role models, thanks to its jaw-dropping art direction and adventure-perfect soundtrack. If the fights are engaging and push the player to think about each confrontation, they tend to lengthen the good dynamics of the title. It is especially by the lack of evolution of gameplay for the characters that the players will be able to find a certain weariness. If Sea of Stars is therefore not as revolutionary as its spiritual masters in their time, it should still have a place of choice on a shelf of your toy library in 2023. It may well establish itself as the independent game of the year if Silksong remains discreet or even claim prices from much fiercer competition. More than a great performance for a UFO from the 90s.- Jeuxvideo.com

After the masterful conclusion of Endwalker, Final Fantasy XIV leaves on new foundations with Dawntrail. Carried by its lighter tone and its endearing characters, it is in its second part that the adventure takes off, after a sluggish start and some less interesting passages. But more than anything, it is through its graphical update and its magnificent new areas that the experience wows us. With more exciting boss fights, two new fun jobs to play and plenty of comfort options, Dawntrail is an expansion that continues in the right direction instilled by Naoki Yoshida and his teams for over a decade. Hoping that the course is maintained in the next updates and expansions.- Jeuxvideo.com

If you've already fallen for Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! in 2014 or 2015, be aware that there is no need to go to the cash register again. The Oddworld Inhabitants remake is in every way similar to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. We therefore find the same qualities as well as the same defects. However, if you're discovering the license today, we strongly recommend this version, since the title gains in flexibility thanks to the arrival of an addition of size, the nomadic side of the console which fits perfectly with the spirit of the Die & Retry title.- Jeuxvideo.com

More than a sequel, Mario + The Rabbids Sparks of Hope offers us a new gaming experience. Some elements present in Kingdom Battle. For the rest, there are redesigned combats, extensive exploration, a complex tactical aspect... The formula is simply excellent and makes the tactical more accessible and attractive than ever, without falling into the easy. Enough to give color to your autumn gaming sessions for a (a little too) short time.- Jeuxvideo.com

With this Forza Motorsport 2023 edition, Turn 10 resets the counters and delivers a car racing game with a titanium chassis capable of carrying the license for several years. Beautiful, fluid, offering very good "simcade" driving sensations, it offers the right modes with the necessary parameters to satisfy almost everyone. Both ultra permissive (in its challenge) and restrictive (in the improvements to be unlocked), this reboot is a bit of a search. Aiming at a very wide audience thanks to its numerous options, it is nonetheless dedicated to fans of pretty cars, those who are able to go beyond its definitively austere appearance (and the absence of urban circuits) to let themselves be captivated by the joys of motorized competition, both solo and online. Nice job.- Jeuxvideo.com

After Nioh, Team Ninja once again proves its great mastery of action-RPG with Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. Admittedly, the copy is not perfect (bestiary not provided enough, rather disappointing endgame, side missions which take up areas already visited) but the gameplay is so solid that we are ready to excuse almost everything! Here, it's all about parry, martial arts and spells, in a novel approach for the genre. Most of the atmospheres are successful, there is plenty to choose your path as a warrior and everything is even more accessible than the studio's Japanese Souls-like. An excellent pickaxe.- Jeuxvideo.com

How exhilarating it is to travel the Wild West in the shoes of John Marston once again. Red Dead Redemption ages like a fine whiskey and proves that a video game work ahead of its time ignores the ravages of time. All the qualities of the original game are found in this PC version and much more. Playable in optimal conditions at 144 frames per second in 4K, Rockstar Games' western is living its best life on PC 14 years after its first ride on home consoles, even if it obviously suffers from the comparison with Red Dead Redemption 2.- Jeuxvideo.com

With The War Within, World of Warcraft is enjoying a third youth. Like Cataclysm in its time, it modernizes the MMORPG formula in a very competitive environment. No major revolution, but an improvement in thickness of the foundations put in place by Dragonflight: this is how The War Within shines. Enough to wait for the next updates, and of course the other two expansions of the saga, with unprecedented impatience.- Jeuxvideo.com

Final Fantasy XVI is a title with a fascinating proposal, unfortunately hampered by certain aspects. Going even deeper into the action than its predecessor, the game delivers spectacular combat and rich possibilities thanks to the powers of the Primordials. These confrontations have all the more impact as they take place within an exciting story and a mature and credible universe. It is also on the graphic level that FFXVI puts your eyes on it through its clashes of Primordials and its environments, despite a fluctuating framerate in performance mode. Unfortunately, all of this is marred somewhat by linear levels, limited exploration, and sketchy staging that create a disconnect with the modernity of the rest of the experience. Despite these dated elements, the Final Fantasy saga proves with this episode and FFVII Remake that it is still able to amaze, more than 35 years after its debut.- Jeuxvideo.com

Titanic, massive… adjectives fail to describe the immensity of Starfield. Shining like a sun, Bethesda's software is indeed the Skyrim in space that SF enthusiasts hope for. Admittedly, by not revolutionizing any mechanics specific to the genre, the software can be seen as a small nebulous step for the C-RPG. But it's a giant leap for great video game adventures, even if some features lack depth. Gigantic, captivating in its missions, full of things to do and discover, Starfield is an undeniable success. With its original New Game +, it will enchant you for countless hours.- Jeuxvideo.com
