Released in 2016 and then in 2017 on PlayStation, these two episodes of Uncharted are coming to PC in a technically improved version. Even in 2022, the graphics have lost none of their brilliance, especially since they no longer bother with any technical limits.

With Halo 4, 343 Industries had the difficult duty to satisfy the fans of the IP, and to answer some of the questions that remained from the previous episode. Without revolutionizing the saga, the studio keeps everything that made Halo so successful but cleverly introduces a new species called the Forerunners. Globally, Halo 4 is like a super-Halo Reach, with a new graphics engine and brings enough innovations to be a good sequel.

HITMAN 3 concludes the trilogy started in 2016 in style, on almost all points. The level design shows itself as always brilliant, while the scenario really makes things evolve. This new iteration can also be a valid entry point for new gamers.

If Injustice 2 doesn't provide a quality of gameplay on par with KOF XIV, it's easily one of the best versus fighting games at the moment thanks to its very generous content that makes Street Fighter V blush in shame.

Dark Souls 3 is a rough diamond, the final touch to a masterpiece trilogy which will leave its mark on us. This final entry can be seen as easier, but it's maybe the best one to date. Well done, Miyazaki-san.

Final Fantasy VII: Remake is a fresh take on Square Enix's classic, with enough new stuff to bring in young gamers, and most of what made the game great over 20 years ago. A true "Remake."

Astral Chain shows a vast potential, but the game suffers from various problems, from a badly written storyline to a imprecise gameplay. On the plus side, its universe is very appealing and has a nice variety of things to do.

Pokémon Sun & Moon are a glorious try to change the ancient recipe of the Game Freak series. The game can be seen as more straightforward but this makes the narrative part and the screenplay only better. And Alola is a great new region to discover.

Shinobi Art of Vengeance is an absolute banger, both a heartfelt tribute to a legendary franchise and a smart modernization for a new generation of players who never experienced Joe Musashi in the era of 8-16-bit consoles and arcade halls. The French studio Lizardcube clearly understood how to strike the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, drawing on the fundamentals of the early games while enriching the gameplay with modern mechanics designed for fluidity, depth, and combat variety.

Uninhibited and assumed action, this is the new direction of this Final Fantasy XVI which has a specific objective: to please the greatest number, even if it means splitting and dividing Final Fantasy fans….Yes, this episode XVI is more eyeing the Devil May Cry, and that's probably the best thing that could have happened to it.

On paper, Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection has some nice arguments to be tempted, but of remaster, there is really only the name, since the two titles have not really been reworked at the source. We are rather dealing with a plus-plus port to which we have added the performance of the PS5. Save your money for Horizon 2 Forbidden West, that's a better choice.

If Kazunori Yamauchi continues to be hermetic to the changes made in the genre since the competition stole the show from him, there is one thing that has not changed in him, it is his passion for the automobile. Everything in this episode oozes love for beautiful bodywork. If the game has been criticized for offering frozen scenery, in terms of car modeling, it is a delight at all levels, to the point of saying that we are turning into Carn Porn, especially when we are walking around in the Garage and the Photo mode. And then Gran Turismo 7 also reminds us how much the game is still fun to play, with this progression that only this series is able to provide. Yes, it's pretty austere in execution, but it's all rewarding knowing that you're moving pretty fast.

So, did Housemarque dumb things down with Saros? Honestly, no. They just found a smarter way to open the game up to more players. The Carcosian modifiers let you tweak the difficulty however you want, which is a nice touch. But make no mistake, the game is still hard. It’ll test your patience, push you to the edge, and yeah, you’ll probably rage a bit. Because at its core, it’s still that same addictive loop : you fail, you learn, you try again. It’s frustrating, but also super rewarding. You quit and then come back five minutes later. Now sure, it’s a bit less brutal than Returnal. More structured, a bit more accessible. Some people will miss that raw edge, others will appreciate the balance. It does feel like it runs out of steam a bit after the credits, but overall? It’s still a really solid, intense experience. Not as groundbreaking as Returnal, but definitely a strong follow-up.

So, what can we take away from this Nintendo Switch 2 re-release of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2? First and foremost: these games remain absolute masterpieces of 3D platforming. Eighteen years after the first installment, their level design is still a model of clarity and creativity. Every galaxy, every mechanic, every jump is perfectly calibrated to delight without frustrating the player. The magic still works, and the emotion remains intact. However, when it comes to the port itself, the disappointment is hard to ignore. This is essentially just a 4K/60fps polish, a cosmetic texture cleanup, and compatibility with both the Switch and Switch 2, nothing more. No 3D model overhauls, no new lighting effects, no significant additional content. Rosalina’s Storybook and the assist mode are nice touches, but they feel anecdotal compared to what you’d expect for a 40th-anniversary celebration. And the price, €70, is particularly steep for a duo that doesn’t include any real expansions or “next-gen” remastering. There’s a slight feeling of incompleteness, or even deliberate laziness, which the most demanding fans will notice immediately. If you’ve never played these two galaxies before, dive in, they’re pure joy. But if you already know them, it might be wiser to wait for a sale rather than support Nintendo’s new pricing approach.

Batman Arkham Knight is not as good as Rocksteady would have wished. The open world makes it difficult to keep the rhythm, and the all-around use of the Batmobile gets tiresome in the end. Despite this few problems, the software ends up as a nice game.

With Max Payne 3, Rockstar Games proves that the studio masters the action-type game in the most brilliant way, despite Max Payne 3 not being an open-world title. If there were no doubts about narration, the gameplay system also remains very atttractive thanks to the perfect introduction of the bullet time and the Shootdodge abilities, two strong aspects players are already familiar with. Rockstar Games offers a great experience, full of details, and depicts an amazing trip through Brazil and its favelas. A masterpiece at which Rockstar Games excels, introducing a tortured character whose adventures will surely give you the chills!

Marvel's Spider Man for PS4 is a true must-have for the super hero's fans with its open world and the freedom it allows. We would have loved a bit more variety among quests and a better stealth system as the one with Mile Morales and Mary-Jane feel so 2005.

On one hand Okami HD is still a brilliant game that any gamer must beat, but on the other hand it hasn't much evolved from the PS3 version that came out 5 years ago. Like with many remasters, go for it if you haven't played it, skip it if you already have.

We were afraid that Forza Motorsport 6 would get eaten alive by Project CARS, but Turn 10's game offers a mighty resistance to Slightly mad's game thanks to it's state of the art drivatar system. Still we regret a lousy weather system, a destruction system that's too light and the dullness of the career mode.

Beyond the commercial gamble, Fire Emblem Fates is an excellent tactical-RPG, just like Fire Emblem Awakening was. This new game takes back everything that worked in the previous entry (relationships, support) and adds some very addictive elements, like the castle management or this three-headed story you'll want to explore completely.

Tearaway is a true visual success but also offers some fresh air with its gameplay, in which player interact with the characters. Some moments lack of accuracy, the touch screen isn't always precise and the camera can be unpredictable. But Tearaway is full of new ideas and that makes forget all the rest.

Those who were eagerly waiting for the next-gen football simulation will have to wait a little longer for FIFA 15. Let's be direct: we're far from the great promises made by EA all along the year. It's visually cleaner, more flowing, there are some new animations and the atmosphere has clearly improved in the stadiums. But that's all folks.

With PES 2016, Konami makes a statement: they are back in the game. And at the heart of this final mutation is finely carved gameplay, based on the traditionally precise construction phases of the series and enhanced by new animations and collisions. The result is a game which is, at last, very nice to play.
