Pokémon Pokopia is a bold spin-off that flips the usual Pokémon formula on its head. No battles, no duels, just a world to rebuild, habitats to create, and Pokémon to hang out with. The game really shines in its creative freedom: you can terraform, build, decorate, and even use Pokémon abilities to shape the world however you like. It’s cozy, easy-going, and instantly fun, especially if you’re creative or younger, and the first few hours are a real blast. The downside? It gets repetitive pretty quickly. The same mechanics repeat from island to island, quests and habitats feel predictable, and there’s not much challenge to keep things exciting. On paper, it’s a refreshing change of pace, but the slow rhythm and repeated tasks can bore players who like a bit more action or progression. For us, the first 10-12 hours were fun, but after that, the next 15 hours started to feel a bit samey.

But if the coating is more than successful, the gameplay proposition is much less so, since South of Midnight languishes in a rather staggering classicism. With its limited and repetitive gameplay loop, the structure of its levels that is far too linear and conventional, disappointing bosses and a bestiary of distressing poverty (there are 6 different enemies during the 15 hours of adventure), we realize that Compulsion Games has favored form over substance. Be careful, it is far from being catastrophic, but there is nothing exciting either, and it is all the more regrettable that certain mechanics, although conventional, manage to work at times. And yet, despite the lack of humor and graphics that are getting old, Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault remains entertaining enough thanks to its interesting gameplay mechanics and its well-balanced difficulty. Multiplayer mode won't occupy players for the next ten years, but it will surely please them.

We had placed a lot of hope in this Gotham Knights. The adventure was pleasant but too imperfect, interesting but not legendary enough; especially for a license around the Dark Knight, even without him in the title role. Too bad then. It is therefore high time for him to come back, and in the most beautiful way.

Visually outdated when it came out, this remaster of Saints Row : The Third can't manage to bring the graphics to the modern era, and it's still filled with bugs, but if you like that kind of humor, the game is still fun.

Pokkén DX Tournament has very few bells & whistles to make you pay for this Switch version. Five more Pokémons, 3v3 combat ans a better online mode won't be enough to make this Wii U game look new.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale won't dethrone the Super Smash Bros. IP, but finally offers a great alternative, especially players looking for some crossover fighting games. The title proposes some good ideas such as its battle system mainly focused on combos. However, the fighting sequences lack the necessary dynamism.

Everybody's Golf is a catchy golf game with a real challenge and has a good feel to it, but some points let it down like the repetitive solo mode, and the useless Golf Island open world.

Warhammer Chaosbane walks in the footsteps of Diablo, but fails to match it's master because of the repetitive environments, it's shot lifetime and an extremely limited endgame content.

Unrailed! is a nice game as long as you're with some good friends, but forget about it if you're a solo player, as the game then becomes as boring as it can get.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT offers a unique combat system that turns the 3vs3 battles into strategic encounters, but the visuals aren't that good specially with the bad camera. The game will be perfect for the fans of Final Fantasy, but the rest of the gamers will find it quite repetitive.

Warlords of New York is a welcome add-on to The Division 2, but it just feels like more of the same, which isn't surprising as the whole game already felt like a 1.5 version of the first opus. A worthy DLC, but not outlandish.

With its sexy heroine, its naughty fights and its graphics which constantly seek to impress, Bright Memory Infinite has everything of the little guilty pleasure. But some players will feel disappointed because the game is too short and the story is anecdotal.

Available on PC since November 2018, Leisure Suit Larry Wet Dreams Don't Dry is a nice tip of the hat to the old games. The point'n click gameplay is solid, and if there's nothing new, it still all feels fun and tight.

Sadly, the much anticipated Mafia 3 doesn't live up to the hype. The great story and background are ruined by the absolute lack of polish, be it on the technical standpoint with appalling graphics, or the AI that's completely useless.

Even if it's the first game announced on PS5, Godfall is far from a system seller. Sure, the graphics are appealling, but most of what's left after is pretty disappointing, from the poor story to the repetitive gameplay. At least the fights are enjoyable, and the lore has potential.

The Switch version of DOOM is actually a pleasant surprise with an unaltered gameplay that's still incredibly effective on a small form factor machine. On the other hand, the games boasts ugly graphics, suffers from low framerate at times and has a premium price tag compared to the other platforms.

Sold at a very low price, Goat of Duty isn't a joke like Goat Simulator has been, and tries to get into the competitive shooter scene by taking elements from the likes of Quake and Unreal tournament. Clearly worth its 7 bucks price tag ATM. [Early access score = 70
